I am so very shocked that this wonderful gem of a song was never released on any of his albums. This song is by far one of his very best recordings ever produced. I sure hope this "ORIGINAL" 1972 version of Distant Land will soon be released on the I-Tunes store or on CD, as this is the last remaining song missing from my Donald Byrd music collection.
@@jonallen2988 This is the one song that I cannot find on the i-tunes store or available on a compilation CD. This is the very song that I desperately need to complete my Donald Byrd music compilation collection.

@@jonallen2988 This song really picks up at 5:25 when that horn backdrop kicks in to full gear.
Just killer .. Byrd took his jazz ways and moods to another dimension with this one
"Untinted". Sources for Madlib's shades of blue
Track two
I’d love to know if Donald Byrd bought this song from Mitch Farber, or stole it, it is definitely a Mitch Farber song, and it has lyrics too.
