Hi I'm from Canada quebec do you know if it will be available in canada because I don't see it on the site ..I'm talking about the model rwd long range
As we learn from other operators, autonomy can be achieved with restrictions. Not every scenario has to be covered by tech. Where risk exists, restriction could manage. For instance.....reach destination whilst avoiding high risk lefts or other structures. Not sure that will be required but it is equivalent say to WAYMO.
Personally, I’d rather a LFP battery which is the standard RWD model where as the long range changes to a NMC battery. Advantages of an LFP is that you can fully use the battery and they’re more hardy over a the lifetime of the vehicle. NMC should only be charged to 80% meaning the 363miles become 290 vrs the fully charged LFP at 272miles, not much in it at that point.
Thanks once again for the information. I bought a M3LR earlier this year after waiting almost a year for it to hit the market and did NOT get the $7500 tax incentive. Now that it qualifies and the RWD LR is $5000 cheaper, that's $12,500 less for a car that arguably is better. AWD is not a priority for me but range is. I have 3000 miles on my LR-AWD and am actually considering trading it in to get the LR-RWD. It doesn't make sense right now considering all the taxes and fees I had to pay, unless I could sell for close to the original purchase price (not likely). I'll be watching later this quarter to see if there are any in inventory and if Tesla might offer some deals. I love the new M3 but the nearly $13,000 I missed out on is hard to swallow.
I understand Tesla is focused on the US market, and why there are great incentives there. It’s just so frustrating that similar levels in incentives don’t exist in neighbouring countries, (due to politicians being tied to ICE interests), so between that and the difference in currency values, Model 3 &Y remain unaffordable for many of us.
The older long-range rear-wheel drive model 3's are the sweetest handling Teslas I've driven, losing the weight in the front is a good trade for 1 second drag racing speed.
"True Self Driving" is when it can cope with a Mumbai rush-hour, or the Arc De Triomphe in Paris at rush-hour. When it is pouring with rain! Anything else is still just a variation of "enhanced autopilot".
If you regularly charge your long range to 80% to preserve battery life, you’re not really any better off than someone charging an LFP to 100%. Any advantage will be infrequent at best.
@@bobbygilmore2076 Okay, but a lot of us don't even charge to 80% nightly. I'd probably charge to 50% nightly, which works out to having about 180 miles of range for my daily drives. Which is more than enough daily. Then, when I take a road trip, I'd have it finish charging to 100% that morning and I take off with 363 miles of range. Also, what about years down the line when both vehicles lose 15%? That would make the (272) range go down to less than 235. Road trips with that kind of range doesn't sound appealing. Whereas, with 15% loss on 363, you would still have close to 320.
Why would anyone buy a standard RWD now? You'd have to make a lot of money not to qualify for the tax credit, in which case, you're probably not in the market for the cheapest model, so you're most likely buying the Performance trim anyway.
I doubt the standard range RWD lasts very long after the introduction of this new one. They either redesign it with a different battery or scrap it. Awesome concept, but that performance is too good to pass up. They really knocked it out of the park with that one.
Is the new variant actually a long range though? The weight isn't much different so the energy required is relatively the same. If you're only charging to 80% because you don't want to damage your batteries, it's less than the standard -and the standard is virtually equal to the long range charged to 80%... I think you save money up front to buy the new variant but you lose overall because the SRP has longer lasting batteries in terms of lifetime. Really, the cheapest model Tesla offers is actually the best IMO
In EU we only have long range RWD in model Y, it would make sence in model 3, even without the tax incentive. If they also could make a van/stationcar version it would be perfect.
Saw the new Ford Capri at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday 11th July. It looks better in the flesh and the front and rear looks nothing like a Polestar 2 (yes the side profile is very similar). Also saw the Tesla Cybertruck for the first time at Goodwood FOS. Shame Tesla didn't have a proper stand like last year. They only had 2 vehicles on display - the Model 3 performance refresh in red in the 'Electric Avenue' area and a hard to find Cybertruck in a different location. BYD had a big stand as did Polestar, and other Chinese brands. As a TSLA shareholder it was very disappointing not to see a proper Tesla stand like last year. The Renault 5 EV and Alpine A290 EVs were the star of the show for me. Great also to see Rimac and McMurtry plus loads of other EVs there.
Demand? Bro, the Long Range isn't available for lease because the tax credit would make that lease cheaper than the RWD lease. That's all. Tesla has to decide how competitive they want to get. If the market winds are still unfavorable in a couple months, you can bet they'll replace the RWD lease with the Long Range lease for the same monthly cost. That would be an ideal time to grab one because there's basically a coin-flip chance of the tax credit disappearing after the election. And I'll probably pick one up simply because it's such an insanely easy cash-flow proposition. My old Model X is SO hungry in terms of watt-hours consumed per mile. New Model 3 is nicer/quieter/better for so little money.
FSD is still in the uncanny valley where the operator is not really a passenger or a driver. That’s a huge turnoff for a lot of people (including myself). When it gets past that (and I am sure that it eventually will) it really will be the game changer that it’s hyped as. Until then, not so much.
@@markthomas7279 “concern” implies a reasoned response. That’s not what the “uncanny valley” is about in the cinematic context from which I am borrowing it. As an owner of a 2024 Blazer EV, avoid any GM EVs for their first few years of production. Mine has been an unreliable headache nonstop. The Equinox is basically the same car and owners online have been having the same issues with their Equinoxes as I’ve had with my Blazer. My Blazer spent a month total in the shop in the first 45 days of ownership, both times going in for high voltage system issues that made it undrivable. Buying the Blazer is my biggest regret of the last few years and I can’t wait to get out of it.
NO!!! Does NOT come with the premium sound like the LR AWD and or Performance. Ik cause I not only took a demo drive in it, but also took order! Was a bit disappointed when told, but with the 360 degree acoustic set up, was definitely satisfied with the sound! For me, living in cold winters, range is everything. Also, no LFP, it comes with the 2170 battery pack(incase whomever reads this is curious).✌️
How did the standard and long range model 3’s all of a sudden qualify for the $7,500 tax credit? I doubt they changed batteries that quickly? Only the new long range would qualify assuming the batteries are made in America like the performance model. Am I missing something?
How come nobody is talking about the discrepancy on the Tesla website. If you click more details for interior/ sound system it says long range and performance come with 17 speakers. But rear wheel drive comes with 9. You see the problem here right? Long range rear wheel drive gets what?!?
Do we know yet, in areas where SR RWD and LR AWD differ, where the LR RWD lands? Does it have a max charging speed of 170kW/32A or 250kW/48A? Speakers/interior? I frankly don’t know in all the areas SR RWD and LR AWD differ apart from the obvious (battery size and number of motors).
Ready to buy (wife has a model 3 long range) but waiting for the Juniper Model Y upgrade with Bi-directional V2H and with full self driving level 5. When will this be available??
Tesla finally does something smart. It will be interesting to see if it lasts the full quarter though. They finally have a $35,000 car. If you factor in inflation from 2018 it only costs around $29,000, even if you don’t qualify for the tax credit (around $34,500 equivalent).
Had to turn down delivery of M3 RWD today since put deposit on LR M3 an hour after hearing of it. ETA July 22-Aug 4. Month old 2024 M3 was totaled in May by uninsured driver/DUI. Why Tesla couldn't transfer my FSD from it to new one is subject for deeper topic.
I noticed that when the public wakes up, and when sales are down, everything gets "redesigned" "renewed" "refreshed" "reconfigured" etc. People who live in flood zones may want to proceed with caution.
Instead of getting all the M3s eligible for the tax credit, they come up with a cheaper trim that's eligible, but it's still not under $35K OTD. Get it together, Tesla.
Robo taxi will be nothing but a lawsuit magnet and not just the ones you might think of. Not only will it not make back investment but it will cost Tesla money for decades. Elon should have spun off the AI and Robo Taxi stuff into a different company to take the risk off the Tesla books. Might even get some suckers to invest in it.
I ordered a M3 LR RWR when it came out 2 days ago, and in the Order Agreement it clearly says "Premium Interior", not 100% sure if it comes with 17 speakers.
@phatha7963 I ordered one as well. I was told it doesn't come with the 17 speaker sound, the suede on door panels if it's black it comes with the fabric, and no floor mats. If you look for other inventory models within the app even the base Rwd only version says premium interior even though it's not

I checked and Tesla shows the newer rear wheel driver long range at $29,990. But is that price with or without the $7500 credit. I purchased the rear wheel drive @ 38K, with tax and licensing in CA it came to 48K. I am not at all happy about that!!!!!!!! Tesla screwed me with this new long range rear wheel. I would have purchased that one instead. That is real shitty of them to do this to people.
Name another oem making global impacts on a boring industry and pushing for a cleaner environment. Would love to see any keyboard warrior win as Elon has won. Why invest, it’s called due dilegence.
Who is surprised at this point. They can’t even solve the insane phantom braking issue. Even with hw3 and new cameras my 2024 M3LR behaves like a nervous wreck.
Funny he said "Tesla has issues communicating specs to customers" and in the next sentence he mentioned the new RWD Long Range can go 363 miles. The long range RWD doesn't have an LFP battery. This means the 363 range is actually 290.4, because you'd be charging it to 80%. Essentially the so called "Long Range" is just 18 miles more than the standard range.
That's a blatant lie. You can charge it to 100% all you want. Just like you can open dev tools on your phone and charge it to 100%. Both will cause the battery life to degrade faster. The tesla will still be drivable even with much less than the 200mi, and most drives are less than 100mi. If a road trip worries you, then iirc all superchargers are within 150mi of one another.
@@Parker-- that’s the thing; I don’t know if it is due to the battery. I always assumed the 170kW/32A limit was just there to incentivize people to get the LR AWD instead of the relatively handicapped SR RWD.
@@albert109 Yeah I'm not 100% sure either, but it would make sense to me that they have a single plug in jack that works at max capacity and the limitations come from your output (the home charger or supercharger) and your input (the battery). That historically has been the two bottlenecks so I assume it's still true now.
I agree; why offer a performance vehicle, then isolate the driver from the performance and handling with …keep hands on wheel, eyes looking forward , watch car drive. Odd expectation.
FSD is the main reason I’m buying a Tesla. Self driving is incredibly important to the progression of vehicles. Tesla is also doing exceptionally well at pushing battery tech. I don’t see any one area suffering at the moment.
i think that China using Tesla's as government vehicles is a smart move. Slowly they will negotiate to allow acceptance of their chinese EV's without any tariffs in the future. When you look at the inflation in price of legacy automakers, eventually North America and Europe will bend to public pressure. When i was a kid, my parents had a can opener made in England.
Gov. Uses incentives all the time. PreK, HVAC, Energy Star, cash for clunkers and having children can save you money. So it makes a whole lot of sense.

YOUR VIDEO IS VERY GOOD
How do you intervene without steering wheel, brake or accelerator, as pictured?
You don’t and can’t. You are the passenger! Just sit back and enjoy the ride.😊
How can anybody still put stock into when Elon Musk says something will happen?
Name another oem making global impacts on a boring industry and pushing for a cleaner environment. Would love to see any keyboard warrior win as Elon has won. Why invest, it’s called due dilegence.
Yeah, they should listen to Mary Barra instead! She’s got a perfect record when she reveals plans.😊
@@malcolmrickarby2313 I’ll add her to the list. Thanks.
better price, but still out of a lot of people's budget
Hey mice video. I am still waiting for my fsd update.
Who is surprised at this point. They can’t even solve the insane phantom braking issue. Even with hw3 and new cameras my 2024 M3LR behaves like a nervous wreck.
It's definitely a wise move to offer this new trim of the Model 3.
How on earth can FSD be a decade away if every day RUclipsrs are doing intervention free (and hands free) rides.
I know the robotaxi event MIGHT be delayed, but you're reporting it on an unconfirmed rumor, and stating it as fact.
Bloomberg are often incorrect.😊
Code is not working. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
does the long range rwd have the long range awd sound system? (premium sound system)
Probably not
And what other aspects do the LR AWD and SR RWD differ - and where does LR RWD land? Like charging speed max
@@albert109 I would imagine that's dictated by the battery, so whatever the LRAWD has, all other charging variables being equal of course.
These tax credit qualification rules are stupid.
There goes my Unicorn I own. Was one of the few Long Range RWD M3 around. # 1067 off the lot! Still going strong
This Self Driving fad is getting old. Tesla needs to work on battery performance, quality control and enhancement, rather than silly self driving.
You apparently haven’t experienced FSD first hand.
I have a trial of FSD on my new Model 3 LR and agree that it will be years before it can be deployed as a level 5 autonomous option.
@@kevj9928you do understand that you don’t have to buy or use FSD don’t you?
i think that China using Tesla's as government vehicles is a smart move. Slowly they will negotiate to allow acceptance of their chinese EV's without any tariffs in the future. When you look at the inflation in price of legacy automakers, eventually North America and Europe will bend to public pressure. When i was a kid, my parents had a can opener made in England.
They should drop the price of the regular RWD to 35k.
Honestly 34k so at least most people save on it, but still 90% of people have a no brianer pick now.
why dont Tesla make the model 3 in Germanyn ?
Man all
Your videos are all just on repeat
Haha never believe elons release dates. Just ask about the roadster
how would that rear wheel drive m3 handle in crappy weather?
Robo taxi has no meaning for me as a third world country. Id rather get an actual SUV tesla.
You should note, though, that a lease on the standard range car gets the federal discount.
👍

Tesla needs to work on battery and quality control
Why should the tax payers pay for you to buy a car? This is making zero sense now.
Cars in california that had ulev2 have been cleaning the air (tailpipe is cleaner than air) for years. Has this changed?
They shouldn’t. But if it’s going to be policy, I’m not going to turn it down.
Gov. Uses incentives all the time. PreK, HVAC, Energy Star, cash for clunkers and having children can save you money. So it makes a whole lot of sense.
Tax payers subsidize big corporations all the time, why do you think CEOs hire lobbyists? Corporate welfare is one of the biggest burdens on the budget.
Because doing something positive for the future is something most people will just ignore and then everyone pays a different kind of price.

Is it a prototype or an actual product? Scam!!!
