The rattle coming from the passenger side might be the seat belt buckle rattling against the passenger seat. This was happening to mine. I put some black felt stickers on the seat where the belt hit the seat and it quieted it down significantly.
I've been driving my '24 M3P for a month now, replacing my older '20 M3P, and must say it was definitely worth the upgrade! This is coming from someone who put 90K on my last M3P, so I've had plenty of time in the last iteration of this vehicle and already have almost 4K on my new '24 M3P. 100% quieter, better stereo, dragy verified 2.93s run on a "track", more comfortable and better handling drive, better fit and finish, better interior period, including the light strip, which makes you feel like your in a cockpit, better headlights, better styling, and overall just better :) You will get used to the blinker buttons, even though I still prefer normal stalks, and the shifting on the screen is not bad unless you're doing any tight 3 point turns, then it's annoying. Thankfully, I've not had the squeaky armrest, but instead had a rattle coming from the steering wheel, which was determined to be a loose screw at the base of the plastic, piece which was fixed along with sound deadening tape added to the seatbelt rattle I had too. Overall, buy this car if you're in the market for a 50K sedan.
I was in the same boat as you. I agree with everything you said. The upsetting thing for me is, Tesla has a TSB (Tesla Service Bulletin) for oil leaking from the rear drive shaft. The fix that Tesla has for this issue seems like a horrible solution. It requires the rear motor to be dropped and then a wheel alignment. Pretty upsetting when I learned about it. Tesla Mark has a video on it as well. Drive safe
I´ve been driving my M3H LR since the end of February and I can comfortably say I´m never going back to stalks again. In my opinion the made the right call on that one. And for the record, I´m driving roundabouts daliy, and yes, i use my turnsignals all the time. Its so easy and you get used to it in like a day.
I considered the M3P while waiting for my LR AWD, but ultimately decided against it due to the wheels. Had an all season tire been an option I would have gone with the performance. You don't live in an area where 4 season's exist, for those of us who do, we need all season. Im not intrested in buying another set of rims and tires just so I can drive in the winter. The LR AWD is amazing. I love driving my car so much. Picked mine up back in june 2024. The FSD you stated is a game changer, I completely agree. Short trips or long trips...it makes traveling a joy. It's has more speed and acceleration than most people need..no joke. It's very quiet. Smooth..yet firm handling with enough cushion that bumps don't really matter. The fit and finish on mine was very very good. I had a ppf put on the front end and the installer was suprized how tight all the seams were. My car did have the windshield washer pump disconnected...mobile service corrected that for free. That was it. I might be unique, but Id definitely recommend the AWD to future buyers in 4 season areas. I would imagine the 2025 Model Y AWD will be equally wonderful. If you get one I look foward to watching your video.
This. Nearly everything is what I want in a car is with the 2024 Model 3 Performance, but I will not buy the car if it doesn't come with all-season tires and a 19" wheel option. Range would get a big improvement going from 20" to 19" rims. Less weight and smoother ride due to more sidewall are also great benefits. There are multiple tests of people getting over 350 miles on a 2024 Performance Model 3 with 18" wheels already. Also, if Tesla would release a 19" wheel option with all seasons, the price could be reduced by $1-2K and people would be able to add an exterior paint option.
I have the same car, love it, especially coming from a 2018 LR RWD Model 3. I too had the creaking armrest and mostly fixed it myself by opening it up and putting foam pads in the center. I did notice an oil smell in my garage after a few weeks but didn’t see any leaks, so when I took it in for it’s post delivery adjustments I asked them to check the rear drive for leaks. At first they didn’t think this was a thing, but then upon inspection they did indeed notice oil residue present, turns out the oil pump was leaking, they cleaned it up and replaced the pump, all good so far. I haven’t tracked it, just a few spirited launches and daily drives. So do keep an eye… or sniff for it.
Just swap in the LR wheels and tires and you'll get within 1-2 miles of LR range, much more comfortable ride and only give up slightly on sharp handling and looks.
Not true. The stock 18in wheels don't fit on the rear because it has a different caliper and parking brake unit I believe. You can only swap the 19in wheels directly. Either way its mainly the wider and gripper tires causing the worse range in this case
Again an incredible video. I just returned my model Y 2021 from rent, so no car at the moment. I am debating if I should wait for the Y refresh or go with the Model S. Very different than the Y and a very fun drive. Once the seat are down its not completely flat but it would meet my need 95% of the time. Do you think at this point I should wait or go with the S and have fun. Thanks for your thoughts group.
Ryan, wIth the previous generation Model 3 you could hear peoples phone conversations clearly from outside the car, even with windows up. This was due to the speakers not being insulated in the doors and echo'ing through the sheet metal. Has this been rectified? This is not normal for all cars. For example the speaker backs are insulated in a Macan are insulated and the cabin is soundproof to people standing outside the car. Thank you for checking on this.
Please do an in depth comparison with the Model 3 Standard range. I had that for 2 weeks on Turo. My ventilated seats were way too strong for Texas at all levels, but great for the first minutes. I noticed the same rattles and audio glitches, especially in combination with navigation audio. I can't decide which Model 3 I want, all have clear differences with appropriate pricing changes.
The wireless chargers for the front seats are a great idea in theory but in practice they’ve been more effective as phone heaters… what gives? How many more years do they need to figure this out?
I noticed the performance and long range provide the same range. The difference is the tire size. Once you add the larger tires to the long range it drops the range to the same as the performance.
Congrats Ryan. IMO.. this is Tesla’s best car for the buck. Car is amazing, but the blinkers are absolutely horrible, I can attest to this. More Tesla owners should know about this. It’s definitely not assembly grease like I was told. The TSB proves there’s an issue.
Seatbelt can cause this. A passenger slammed the door once, and this new rattle started. Thought she broke something in the door. Turns out the belt hand retracted fully.
I'd still love to see vehicle to grid, I wish they would pull the trigger on this across all their models. Doesn't Cali have that mandated at some point anyway?
Ryan if I chose Model 3 dual range I’m swapping out all the speakers out for aftermarket speakers including two subs and adding some dynamat soundproofing…Lastly when those missing points are added by Tesla like powered frunk, improved elbow storage that doesn’t squeak, better iPhone wireless charging, 360° video feed when backing, effective cooling seats even cooling steering wheel like oh wow I’ll fork over a car loan for sure to get one. Funny I only hear about the wireless phone charger just heating a phone for a Apple user. I have used Pixel since version 2 and in my 2023 Y my Pixel 6,7 and have charged perfectly in my Tesla.
Yes, but many have an iPhone. A slight draft from the air conditioning would have been enough. I started putting it on the empty ventilated seats on max to cool down. Also, are you in a hot climate?
Yeah, we have android phones and we've never had any issues. I know Apple doesn't work very well with the Citroen wireless charger either. When we were in Europe I rented one and my cousin and her husbands Apples phones wouldn't charge with it, but our Android phones worked just fine.
I think all the engineers at Tesla should take the car for a field trip to any European city and enjoy driving roundabouts legally for a week. As a drivers car it should have stalks. It’s a poor decision to remove them and a disservice to all participants in traffic that they no longer have this.

Your comment regarding the wireless phone charger is more to do with the iPhone you use, rather than the Tesla charging pad. iPhones are notoriously bad at charging. My experiences with others placing their iPhones (various models) support the claims you are making. Whereas my Google Pixel phone, my previous Samsung, my wife's current Pixel Fold, and her previous Pixel 6 all behaved perfectly. Accepts the charge without overheating (ever!) and gets to a full charge easily before most reasonable daily journeys are completed. Even on my 20-minute commute home, my Pixel 7 will be fully charged from the wireless charging pad by the time I get home from whatever state of charge it was after a full day's use at work.
IMO - a Performance car (BEV or ICE) has to have matching Performance brakes as standard part of the package. Based on driving even just 1 lap on Germany Nürburgring racing circuit the Model 3 Performance *failed* to complete even 1 lap. This was due to overheating brakes and overheating battery. Embarrassing. To me this means Model 3 RWD 1-motor *base* model is the car to buy! It costs ~40% less and it does not pretend to be anything but efficient point to point transport appliance. It's not about BEV versus ICE. It is about balanced vehicle. If you can accelerate to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds and run a super fast quarter-mile too you also have to be able to stop at from speeds, again and again.
@@ZeusBullyMax not in track mode on nurburgring but in general M3P standard brakes are the weakest link, and on autobahn at high speed they are not a match to the rest of M3P
Whoever designed the buttons for the turn signals needs to be fired. When they work, they work great, but there are times when they don't work at all. It seems like they get stuck in the down position because they won't push in at all. Hopefully enough owners bitch about it because it is ridiculous. If they worked 100% of the time I would actually prefer them over a stalk because muscle memory puts my thumb right over the buttons and it's very convenient. I recommend removing the aero bits on the wheels because the longer they are on the more they will scratch your wheels.
Agree they are obnoxious. They are not real buttons. They are touch sensors with haptic feedback to make them feel like a physical button. Hence the feeling of them not working at times.
So glad they fixed the horrible ride quality. I understand wanting it to handle insanely well but there comes a point to where it’s simply uncomfortable as hell to sit in with the old version
There are fit and finish issues as well as recalls with all vehicle brands. This talk about only Tesla having issues needs to stop. That's why cars come with a warranty.
Clearly, you haven't been in a Tesla lately or know what you are talking about when it comes to so-called "recalls". They have been OTA updates so you don't even need to do anything other than schedule your automatic updates.

Makes sense from the outside. It's been flat since before Elon cut his market in (at least) half by becoming so political. TSLA continues to bleed longtime talent. I own my first and last two Teslas.
Regenerative braking won’t help?
I’ll take a used Plaid instead
its a really sexy car in red and white interior
So glad they fixed the horrible ride quality. I understand wanting it to handle insanely well but there comes a point to where it’s simply uncomfortable as hell to sit in with the old version
There are fit and finish issues as well as recalls with all vehicle brands. This talk about only Tesla having issues needs to stop. That's why cars come with a warranty.
Clearly, you haven't been in a Tesla lately or know what you are talking about when it comes to so-called "recalls". They have been OTA updates so you don't even need to do anything other than schedule your automatic updates.
Had this model 3 performance 2024 since July didn't have any issues don't put everyone in the same category
@@toddhanson658 you guys clearly misunderstood my post. I will edit it. I meant all manufactured vehicles (all brands) have issues and that Ryan needed to stop this talk about Tesla built quality issues and recalls
@@Wankidy that's true... 👍
My wife and I noticed our Pixel 8s get really warm wirelessly charging on our 2024 Model Y.
This new Performance Model 3 is so fire…… 🔥. It’s 5x better than the standard Model 3.
When did people start saying “so fire” rather than “so hot”? Just curious. Was it soon after the fire emoji appeared?
Cause every ev spontaneously blows up according to the news and ev haters@@garethdesborough7960
Better example dark side of the moon.
If only Tesla would change the interior to not be so minimalist/barren. Most features of the car are appealing but I just can't enjoy the interior.
How can Elon go to a rally with a bunch of racist then hear a bunch of racist comments and come out and say this is the type of positive energy America needs.
Easily.
The future is racist.
Why are you here?
MAGA! LETS GOOO TRUMP 2024 🎉
@@scottbunsen2271are you really saying that supporting a racist should be easy?
Barron's new headline, desperate to squash the $TSLA rally: _Tesla Insiders Plan to Sell $300 Million of Stock_
Makes sense from the outside. It's been flat since before Elon cut his market in (at least) half by becoming so political. TSLA continues to bleed longtime talent. I own my first and last two Teslas. MY & M3. I used to be able to talk to friends to buy Tesla in years past. The fundamentals have flipped. If you own and haven't got out, you're losing money.
Too much Tesla content
Lmao did you even think about what you typed? That’s like going on espn and complaining they almost always talk about sports smh
You don't have to watch
He’s known for Tesla content. He hits on other stuff at the end of most videos but he owns and knows Tesla.
