So blown away by the player he forgot to mention the remote control!! LOL Have just bought this player. And the remote is also excellent. Long live the CD
Glad you’re enjoying the new cd player. I think it is the cd5si that you have, the cd5i is the older model. Many people say that their new cd players sound even better after they’ve been run in for a few days so it would be mind blowing if yours could eventually sound even better.
Sounds pretty sweet Glen.I'm using a Marantz 5003 cd player with a Rotel receiver but the fun with equipment is how you enjoy it and the great sound you get.Enjoy every second Glen
Funny enough, I was able to A/B the marantz Cd2006 wit the Naim cd5si CD player yesterday in Rayleigh HiFi England. There was truly no comparison. The Marantz was flat and lifeless. The Naim was extraordinary. I was blown away.
Ordered one of these from a naim dealer here in the UK a couple of months back but unfortunately naim are having trouble sourcing a particular part at the moment so id be waiting a good few more months ay least before getting my hands on one... So earlier today i decided to go for the unite core and just rip my entire cd collection instead... should be fun... Also found out that naim are going to be dropping the green logo in favour of the white logo which actually kinda annoyed me as I've always associated naim with the green logo... Anyway really enjoyed watching your video fella 👍
I had the same experience when I bought new equipment last summer. All my old CDs came back to life. Have you played Sgt. Pepper or Revolver yet (nothing like rediscovering The Beatles!)?
You need a guy with a video camera and editing skills to film you. $20 per hour, I'll be there! 😃 Sweet CD player! See you at 3! I'm listening, Glen! 😄
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement - What type of speakers do you use with your Naim CD player? As well, are you familiar with Kef Reference 3 floor standing speakers, and if so, would they pair well with the Naim CD5si player?
Wow Glen i liked how the cd player opened also nice and simplistic if you don't mind saying how much did you pay for it? and great choice to start off the cd player with DSM and nice having "The Grand Wazoo" i still need to listen to that!
Nice player although I don’t like the spindle you need to put on the CDS I would probably lose that and then you can’t play it anymore without getting a replacement Wonder why they designed it like that I’ve never seen a player that needs a spindle
Glad you are very happy with this . Naim gear never disappoints.
Fantastic..I am a 👍👍👍👍believer

Thank you Ian👍❤glen
It's great that you got gear you're thrilled with and you were able to sell other gear to finance it. A win-win!
Yes..I was fortunate and very pleased..
Great review for an awesome CD player, I love the way it looks as well as the way it functions! It was great seeing you on Larry’s channel!👍💿
Thanks Adam..nice surprise being on with you today👍❤glen
Very cool that you're getting into Strings! Sounds like you got a keeper of a player!

What is a "Red Book" cd? Are you referring to standard cd's that aren't SACD? I'm not familiar with that term. Great player! Congrats. 👏👏
Yes, they are standard cd's

@@paulking6219 Thanks! I can't keep up with all this Audiophile terminology. 😂👍

Grand Wazoo is a favourite of mine..You can look up the model number on google and get the retail price…I don’t really want to publish what I paid..
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement i have yet to listen to that one so far my favorite is hot rats!
You are using which integrated with the Naim?

I love it….Just leave it in place..how could you lose it..
Yes, all high end cd transports use one. Pretty standard.
hello can it play SACD? thanks.
No
Mine broke down after less than 7 years.
Was expecting better from a brand like that.
Naim has a really good repair service if you send it back to them
@@Tokaisho1 350€ for basic CD skipping.
I passed and bought another brand.
Just put your camera on a friggin chair or table 😂
Nice some Jam band stuff.
