I just realized, the more Margaret speaks her last lines, the more her accent becomes like Ollie's, like his mind is acknowledging that she isn't real.
Sisca Carelse Holy shit, never noticed that before
Reaper Scythe they we’re neighbors, perhaps in Scotland, then they all moved to Wellington wells.
So that's why her she started sounding Scottish.

I always thought it was weird that the man guarding the border wasn't on Joy but then it hit me.
That Constable realizes that if anyone tries to escape Wellington Wells then there is no way that he would be able to stop them. He realizes the dedication needed to find yourself and want to leave.
You mean the guard who talks to Arthur about his guilt due to the loss of his brother?
@@poweroffriendship2.0 thats exactly what he means
@@poweroffriendship2.0 you again
The constable saw through the effects Joy has on people. So he decides that anyone who manages to escape, he lets them go since he can't capture all of them
I'm glad that Arthur comes to terms with his guilt and stops pretending everything is great
you're right! it has been rather a shitty day?
yes
That’s if he doesn’t take the pill.

Blackadder that’s what a real man does.
olstar18 yes
I don’t know why but when Arthur says “it has been a shit day hasn’t it?” That makes me smile.
Because it's okay to have a bad day. That's how you know to appreciate the good ones.
A lot of people also seem to miss that it's the first child you see. People on the mainland aren't sterilized

S S did the troubles in ireland still happen?
Not likely, considering the Germans would've probably forced Ireland and Northern Ireland to unify (easier to manage). Although there might've been a few riots by the protestants.
Harlowe Iasingston k then wonder if japan still rules asia?
Poor Jack. He has been used for decades to make something he hate.

@@galacticpotata8192 I wouldn't say the game was shit, but it definitely could've been better.
but the animation is awful, btw its still a good game
11:14 How can a game make a sentence like this so deep?
I like to think that the thing Arthur said is clearly stating that the truth might be hard and sad, but it is something better than lying, for others and also for himself. I think this dialogue expressed how he learned from his past mistakes (his lies), and also how he realizes that things will get better, thus he smiling in the end.
You're right, it has been rather a shit day.

Everyone in Wellington Wells old enough to remember the end of the War has innocent blood on their hands. That's why they kept taking Joy.

Can't really say no to that.
This game is a perfect mix of sad, beauty, messed up stuff, creepy things, and even more messed up stuff, this game is just great
What an awesome ending. Sure the game was iffy from a technical standpoint but look past that and this game was a great game.
Jonathan Simpson I love the story it's great
for me the procedural generation was a bit unnecesary and the game felt repetitive, after finishing Arthur's story and playing a little of Sally's I just couldn't keep going, felt more of a chore than a game, would had been better if they ditched the procedural generation altogether and just made a good solid level design
The story is interesting I'll give you that
I don't like how Ollie ends up doing all the job, when Arthur says: "I'm gonna break it for everybody" in the beginning of the game, but ends up escaping.
Unity
According to how the timelines match up;
•Sallie had fled
•Arthur was escaping the hospital
•Ollie found the tape
•Arthur headed into the mine
•Ollie broadcast the final tape
•Ollie fled in the hot air balloon
•The citizens of Wellington Wells rebelled their Joy
•Arthur triggered the miner thing they tried not to activate
•The Parade District collapsed
•Arthur fled
No matter if you play peaceful or not, you wind up killing everyone on Wellington Wells except for Sally, Olly, and Arthur.
Isn't that when Arthur goes to the hospital to get the cod liver oil for Sally?
Carum Sarene don't forget about Gwen
No he actually said “wonder if the capsule thinks what it’s like outside the tube. Course you’d have to break it to get out. And that would break it for everybody”

ollie’s ending was arguably the most sad and funniest ending of the three.
I love Ollie’s rant.
“I NEVER LIKED YOU! OR YOU! YEAH, YOU AS WELL PAL.”
Imagine if there were actually people screaming up at him from down there, and someone actually got hit by the piss.
Act:IV a shrek trying to destroy the germany
Edit:wow so much likes
From the DLC announcement, it looks like Act IV will be a direct sequel about what happens after Ollie broadcast Uncle Jack's final show.
That’s racist
@@benrussell-gough1201 yes but who we play?
@ La Personne,
Your guess is good as mine. It could literally be anyone. Although I wonder if it may be Roger and James, the two playable characters from the first DLC - "It Came From Below".
Act 4: percival
If I were Arthur, I would definitely not take that Joy. After almost dying trying to get out of the pill-popping city, there is no way that I am going back to living in denial. I’d rather be happy knowing that it’s a bad day, and that it’s real and not what the drugs make me see.

TT music Northern Ireland or Ireland in general? Ireland was neutral in the second World War.
It’s ok if everything isn’t perfect, that’s what makes it LIFE.
the ironic thing is that everybody was taking pills to be happy, but thats not happiness, for true happiness you need sadness and anger, and also to be happy you need freedom
So I looked up the wiki about what the Very Bad Thing was...
Why did the Germans want the teenagers?
Also, did the Germans eventually leave the rest of Britain? Apparantly the deal was only for them to leave this particular island.
It was actually the children younger than teens, 13 years old was the cutoff. They wanted them as hostages to prevent the British people from rising up against them. It wasn't a particularly evil act as they would eventually be returned home, if it wasn't for the disastrous war effort against the Soviets. They withdrew the army from Britain because they were needed to defend Germany, they just wanted to ensure that there wouldn't be a new second front by holding the children hostage.
Even when they were taking the children they didn't actually have the forces to scare the people, they relied on bases filled with papier mache tanks to make them think that refusing would be pointless.
God knows what the state of the world is like outside of Wellington Wells, either the war is still going on, or the Soviets won and either rule Europe, or collapsed as they did in real life.
bobsickle It’s implied the rest of the world has completely recovered and mainland England is just fine
Soviets couldn't have collapsed by 1964, no matter how violent the war was. Is it stated how much effort the US put into the war, or did they remain isolationist?
Harlowe Iasingston
The US probably stayed neutral but still provided Lend Lease. The Soviets would still win anyway and have control over all of Europe.
Apparently, France successfully rebelled against Germany at some point and Germany surrendered in 1948. Wellington Wells is just too desperate back in 1943.
I wonder what's left of Scotland?
In the beginning of act 1 where Arthur takes his first “kill” the guy says, “ we’ve come to the end of are time” just like jacks last word on air.
"People in this game" i have cripling depression
Great ending
I was kinda expecting to see Uncle Jack in the game, which would’ve been weird since he is normally portrayed live action on the television
This game just makes you love life the way it is doesn’t it
You get the same choice at the end of the game, as you did at the start.
Remember or forget.
What a great game.
Here’s a DLC Idea for ya: Percy comes back to try and find Arthur, only to discover in the end that Arthur left.
Percy Jackson!?
Kxng waffl3s 😂 good one, but no Percy Hastings (but more grown up)
Jojo91210 how he will escape from the mainland? It’s a story for an entire new game!
Tatiana Dashkova I. Plane travel is possible, he could be the only survivor of a plane crash like Jack in Bioshock (only it wasn’t on purpose)
But year, I like to see it as an entirely different game to. It’s just a DLC Idea.
Jojo91210 yup
*when Ollie started peeing from the hot air balloon* rip BlackArtist07, reason: died of laughter...
8:16 why he’s my favourite character
If they were on joy they would probably think the pee is rain and start drinking it
What programs do you use for your thumbnails bro and what capture card do you use?
That Constable says some pretty touching things.
I don't understand why only the Wellington Wells takes JOY, while people in the countryside don't.
People in the countryside are considered as downers thats why they would not give them joys so they left without foods or waters or anything .. while people in the Wellington took joys and decided to live a better life
I just love the fact that the perfect ending has a bunch of swearing in it 😂😂
I like this ending because it just shows how a man at war loses his mind
Scotish man screams and pisses on people like a mad man in a makeshift air balloon while wishing you a shity day for it.
Damn this guy needs to be tf2's demoman's cosin or something.
He betrayed mr Rogers? 😭
Me after finishing a day of school
*Your right, it has been rather a shit day*
I see that "desktop jumpscares during an important and possibly pivotal scene in a video game" is becoming a thing.
“YELLING” *wonder what’s left of Scotland?*
"You're right. It *has* been rather a sh** day."
If that isn't the entire motif summed up in one final piece of dialogue, I don't know what is.
Better to accept the brutality of truth and build from it than indulge in a string of elegant lies and remain a static machine of dopamine.
organize your desktop man its just folders and apps shoved around
The real twist was that thing 11:05 being a child.
This game deserves more credit. Its an interesting story
Acceptance and denial, both something you can hate and love.
denial is a sweet poison, acceptance is a sour cure, the question is, what do people choose?
I did get the inspiration from someone else’s comment.
I wonder what they will add to the game in the future then? Aside sandbox mode I mean.
Wellie mode.
There are three DLC campaigns promised, two set outside the main campaign with new playable characters and one that I suspect will be a direct sequel, covering the events after Ollie broadcasting Uncle Jack's last show. Possibly there will also be new playable characters for that one too.
FWIW, I would like for there to be a DLC for Arthur meeting up with Sally in the mainland somewhere and the two of them getting involved in the relief efforts in Wellington Wells now the Joy (and the food) has finally run out.
Ben Russell-Gough I want a DLC were a doctor or a policemen using all his knowledge of this place escape with a woman that he loved because she was a downer.
A DLC were we will go to the mainland were there is joy too.
Roger and James are getting a story.
dantdm started playing this, but little does he know, that this game has a shit ton of swears in it
I saw something ? But put it to slowmotion 2:47
That's just his PC's login page.
7:57 Godamnit Ollie 😂
The technology in this olden style futuristic world reminds me of Orwell's 1984 world
Arthur just aimlessly wondering about England telling everything insight "lovely day for it" is heart breaking 😢 at least he can enjoy his freedom.
Freedom with knowing everything he did to his brother
Plot twist:that kid is percy's son
Those people don’t want to take joy so they can be happy
"Its has been rather a shit day."
Everyday is a shit day, Arthur.
What a legend
Alright I probably missed somthing (bc I'm an idiot) but what happend to Percy?
Creepy Freek So Arthur let Percy get on the train to Germany by himself bc of fear. Since Arthur took so much joy he thought he was to old to get on the train until he finally made it to the bridge. So Percy is still in Germany.
Creepy Freek either in Germany or dead, depends on how you see it
Author was supposed to go on the train, but he convinced percy to go with him, then snuck off the train himself, pretending to be percy. (who was too old to go)
iamnuff1992 he may have died on the eastern front?
Almost certainly dead; the train that was carrying the children of Wellington Wells to Germany was attacked and destroyed by a Russian air strike.
This ending was amazing. I have no words for it.

Uncle jack endures,
Margaret Worthing lives,
Wellington wells shall endure,

Rica Ivory I can explain this Wellington Wells is basically the only place in the world that hasn’t recovered apparently mainland Britain has recovered from the war and the bridge he walks off on is the bridge that connects the island to the mainland of Britain
Ricky Rios that sounds plausible. They do keep the world out and keep them in.
