    I always carry a small tarp. Its multi-use. I put it down under my tent so I did not to purchase a tent print. The tarp sticks out little further than print so I can place some gear on it. Also comes in handy when having to work on the bikes. I put it down and get to work keeps all parts and pieces from getting lost. Happy trails. 🤙

    I fitted my OS12 to the adventure spec racks mounted to my CRF300L, very happy with the setup.

    Hi Greg, thanks for a very helpful vid, with great advice. My main question would be how this PR7 compares to your Adventurized EXC450 ? Will sell your 450 ?

    The OS is a really great system for anyone who’s considering it. I custom made some cleats and fitted them to my DRZ462, and I use an Ortlieb roll top to hold my lightweight camping gear. It’s great.

    Hi Greg, wondering if you could give me any information?
    I have a crf300 rally with AS side racks and rear rack, I'm looking at the kriega os set up and I'm unsure what os base to go for, i know they do a os base specifically for the crf300 but i don't like how the bags sit with that base as i want to also use a roll bag across the top, i was wondering if the os universal base would actually sit better over the AS side racks so a roll bag would then go across the top of them?
    Sorry it's a long question on a older video but any advice would be great
    Chris 👍🏼

      Hi Chris, I have the same thoughts. Did you get an answer from Adventure Specs?

    • @chriscooperCRF300
      @chriscooperCRF300 Месяц назад +1

      Not really, but I did from Kriega, mount the os bags direct to the AS racks, works fine 👍🏼

      @@chriscooperCRF300 Thank you for your reply. So basically no OS base then?

    • @chriscooperCRF300
      @chriscooperCRF300 Месяц назад +1

      That's correct mate, no os base, strap the Kriega back direct to the side racks 👍🏼

    Thanks! I have been looking at Kriega for some time, but your TET-on-the-EXC450 setup made me choose for Kriega OS-base and 12 liter bags as well

    Great Video. Just bought the Kreiga OS base system for my 2022 Pr7. I noticed you didn't have an exhaust shield to protect the luggage. Was it not necessary to have one or was the OS 12 ok without it. I have purchased the OS 18.

      Hi Chris, no problems with the bag near the exhaust at all. It was cinched tight so it wouldn't drop

    Great set up....Im waiting for the T7 specific Kriega OS to land. I really don't understand why some people add big pannier racks on relatively light and narrow bikes, then add huge panniers that make the bike as wide as a house 🏠...!..but everyone has their own system, and I've been guilty of taking advantage of mates very large panniers to off load my excess stuff 😀! Cheers, Steve

    Thanks Greg 👍🏻 I got the Shoot & Ride sticker this week and for my T700 I'm also looking into the Kriega OS System. My guess was 17 kg so pretty close. Maybe you can reply about your waterproof experience with the OS bags. Thanks, Bernd

    • @adventurespec
      @adventurespec  4 года назад +1

      Great stuff! So far they have been 100% waterproof. However, you need to remember to close them overnight once you have unpacked your gear! Very easy to forget and they fill up with rain / dew. You only make that mistake once.

    Great video Greg, your previous videos inspired me to fit the OS Kreiga (2x 18L panniers with 20L on top) to my 850GS for my trip back from Switzerland and they were fantastic. The weight saving compared to hard cases, plus the ability to kept the weight low and central makes a hugh difference to the bike‘s handling. I was really impressed how secure they fit with little to no movement.

    Hi Greg, the right bag looks "rather close to the exhaust". Is that no problem?

      Hi Clemens. Nope no problems with the bag near the exhaust at all. It was cinched tight so it wouldn't drop. - Greg. :-)

    Hi Greg, great production on your informative videos. Thanks. Have you tried or do you think OS 18s will fit on the base as fitted? It would appear visually, the exhaust side could be problematic on the lowest corner or can they mount higher on the base? Ta

    • @adventurespec
      @adventurespec  4 года назад +1

      I think the OS 18 would fit totally fine. I wanted peace of mind I would add a heat shield to the exhaust to prevent any burning.

    Hi Greg, great vid, it's made my mind up about the os base system and the bags too although I'm considering the 18litre version for the just incase I need the space fear. My question is do the kreiga bags easily compress if all the space isn't used in them or so they tend to flap about like a sail on a boat?

  • @nickandcaron

    with that weight in mind, have you swapped the rear shock spring or are you on the standard? if so, what static sag do you have??

  • @humoto1

    Well done, Greg, thank you.
    15 to 16kg is really not much in total. May I ask you how big the total volume of panniers, GL dry bag and your rucksack amounts to? Thanks!!

    • @adventurespec
      @adventurespec  4 года назад +2

      Kriega OS 12 Litre + Kriega OS 12 Litre + Giant Loop Rogue 17 Litre = 41 Litre max volume on bike.
      Kriega Trail 9 Litre Rucksack = 9 Litre on my back.
      🙂

    On my week trip to Wales last year, my luggage (GL Great basin) was 16.78kg all in. That included heavy hiking boots for Snowdonia and cooking gear and some food though!
    I returned home with a list of things I'd not take again... There's always room for making your set up lighter!
