After doing some very hard ADV. in my 890R on the Alexander Mackenzie trail with a Tusk Exped. gear I see so much more value in the Krieger set up. The modularity is the key and ability to tailor the bags for the activity and keep them out of the way of hanging your but off the back and not snagging on your pack. Well done Krieger and thank you Chris for the excellent video!
I've used a Kriega r35 backpack 5 days a week since 2017 in all types of weather and it still looks new. Don't let the prices put you off - Kriega gear will outlast your bike in most cases.
Good people at Kriega, I want it ALL!!! All for my 690 Enduro R. Please can you push production? … I know there are other issues in the world rn but sometime I would like to drive my KTM with Kriega gear through Europe. All ready got the US5 Drypack and its amazing.
Yeah, well this is Kriega´s channel, so it´s pretty much a commercial. However the tips are real and sound, and I´m impressed the whole inventory only took about 6 minutes. Great tip to bring the Dyneema rope, even better if you bring one or two of those plastic snatch blocks. Out in the rough, your bike could end up in some real tricky places.
So good!! Im new to biking but a keen nature & hiker. I love the idea of doing adventures like this!! So many skills prerequisite though :( .. ah well, one step at a time :). Cheers
Thanks Chris Tried so many bag setups , but the kriega seems the best . I see you use an 0s 12 on the exhaust side , is an 18 too big for that side , sitting on the exhaust
Really helpful video, thank you Chris. Would you be able to tell us which tent you have here, and also which tools you take with you in your tool roll? Perhaps append a list or a link to the video? I'm hoping to book a Coromandel trip with you on my next visit home (I live in the UK now).
I bought one of those Kriega bags. It's actually very nice and i did a few trips with it. However after a couple of years the outer skin started peeling off and the black skin sticks to the tail of the bike with no hope to clean it off. So i can't use it anymore. Shame cuz it is a well thought through item. But i can let it spoil the paint of my bike. In fact, i had to have the bike repainted.
Nice walk thru of your packing. Focus on tools, do you complement each other in the team or does everyone have their own complete kit? Merino is great I need to get more of Merino layers. Beautiful trail and footage!
An interesting subject. Always interesting what another rider carries. I'm curious why you carry waterproof rain gear when you could be using breathable gortex and not need it.!!
Chris what is the exhaust heat protection strip you have over your Acrapovic ? I am looking for something that is not burning my beg when it tough the exhaust system. Great video ! Thxs Franky
@@unsan2969 Ir a cheap copy from AliExpress. Problem is whilst they work on the Akra, most aren't big enough to work on the stock exhaust. The circumference is too large.
Guessing the guy with the racks and larger bags will carry the water! Also missing some TP, dry towel, other stuff. Was wondering why i need larger bags than this! Good vid tho, got most of the stuff u need in those small bags.
Is it just me or these bags are flopping around a lot on these riding footage? Seems like the odd shape of the rear side panels is preventing the OS base from truly hugging the bike
has anyone used the OS-base system on 790/890 while retaining pillion footrests? As I take a passenger frequently, I'm not keen to continually remove and refit. This system isn't an option for me if not compatible with OEM pillion footrests.
nice video as packing is a very important point for adventure trips; weight, volume etc etc just wonder if you are sponsored by Kriega...nice stuff but much too expensive according to me as their longevity is not proportional to the price
Hi Kriega luggage, could you or Chris help us with a guide to weight? Let's say a 200kg bike with a 85kg rider. I find most riders pack too heavy. I ask 'cause when I purchased suspension the guide was rider weight + 15kg luggage. Thanks in advance.
No drone? Cooking utensils? First aid kit? Water, extra fuel? Walkie talkies? Shoes, double pluggers. Flashlights. Meds like ibuprofen. Towel, rags. Spare parts, innertubes? Lighter, zip ties, duct tape? Dude, you gonna die out there.
Trying to get Kriega Overlander complete kit. For over a year. It is never going to happen cause in the Netherlands it is always out of stock. And then that 890. Bought on after my 1190r. Wanted to go lighter. But damn, my 1190r was way better. It is much lighter but man what a problem bike. If someone wants to do long time traveling like me he or she can better think twice. When the bike runs it is a great bike. When it runs. In Sweden it let me down twice. In Turkey i also got shit problems with it. And then you are standing in the middle of knowhere. Starting to walk and leaving the bike alone. With all the expensive gear on it. Walking for 6 hours to a village. The bike was still there but i had to pay a shitload of money to retreive it by some locals with a pick-up. Every few thousends of km i gave problems. Sold it and lost 4000 euro's. Why creating an adventurebike that is not thrustwordy ? Been looking for the T7 but it is much to topheavy. I am experienced in offroading but still. The T7 on the other hand seems to me a much more reliable bike then the 890r. But with the next model they should have lowered the gravity instead of taking more fuel. I have a crf300 on order. But it needs a lot of upgrades. Like the suspension. I know that i am going to miss the power. But i never want to have the bad luck i had with the 890r ever again. And in reality you do not need a lot of power when traveling backcountries. But i still makes me sad cause the 890r almost could have been the perfect bike if it would been way more reliable. And i am not alone. KTM is marketing the people who have a dream. But in reality they have to do a much better job cause traveling with a motorcycle cost not only a lot of money but when the bike is not reliable then KTM is destroying the dream. And costing the rider a lot of extra money on top of the already expensive bike. Sorry. When starting to type two years of frustration came out.
Expensive bike; expensive luggage. But still absolutely fantastic value and adventure capability compared to spending out on even a small sports car which is obviously limited to paved highway.
Traveling light is an art that every well-travelled adventure biker learns.

Trick photography
Excellent set up , excellent video , no pfaffing just the facts bravo
Even a colour co-ordinated tent, way to go 👌
Great set up there, not many New World stores out in the rough

Sprocket…what a great name for a dog 😁
ahahahah
It would be interesting so see what's in your tool roll for the 890.
Sth Island 'Summer'??? Mt Hutt was white in January '17, the last time I was there...so unpredictable, the weather!
New Zealand .., beautifull country....!
Safe riding! Watch Say No to Slow before you head out, it helped me survive the trail and get home safe.
Agreed, just picked it up, and it's a game changer.
true
Kriega is great products , love my os base with the 2x 12 liters and my US 20 + US 10 combo set
Very inspiring! Thank you for your work.

Even the EPIRB matches. Looking good fellow.
Great video Chris! Kriega makes truly rugged luggage systems.
Love my R20. I will procure the OS22, OS6 in a couple of months.

Looks very organised - inspiring me to get set up and get out there!

Take the dog, never know when u might need 1
Muy buen video...!!! Lindos paisajes..como consigo una remera de kriega..???
Have Kriega develop a drop thigh bag or just a thigh/waist strap harness system for the US5!!
Nice walk thru of your packing. Focus on tools, do you complement each other in the team or does everyone have their own complete kit? Merino is great I need to get more of Merino layers. Beautiful trail and footage!
Loved it man, can you please tell me that from where you buy this stuff
Nice to see a rider not packing a 100 kilos of junk. Well thought out and room to spare for the food and beverages you pick up along the way.
An interesting subject. Always interesting what another rider carries. I'm curious why you carry waterproof rain gear when you could be using breathable gortex and not need it.!!

Going through a lot of water are you taking spare wheel bearings
Im looking for this setup for my Tenere 700. Can you fit motorcycle jacket in OS12 or should I go with OS18?
Guessing the guy with the racks and larger bags will carry the water! Also missing some TP, dry towel, other stuff. Was wondering why i need larger bags than this! Good vid tho, got most of the stuff u need in those small bags.
we can drink most water in the back country [most]
Mega - want to ride there.
great luggage gear set for bike ;-)
Is it just me or these bags are flopping around a lot on these riding footage? Seems like the odd shape of the rear side panels is preventing the OS base from truly hugging the bike
Does the OS12 fit nicely on the 890 adventure original rear rack? Or is it too big for that?
Did you buy a tent that matched KTM colors?
Thanks for sharing your video👍
Nice advertisement. Where you refuel gas? How big is KTM tank? How distance you can drive witout refuel?
Hi my son would like to do that traveling bike. He likes your vlogs. Hope my son will be like you someday do traveling bike.

Great video, what tent is that?
One bag to “keep my bike going”… KTM life, mate 🤣🤣🤣 Glad I went from orange to Honda Red. Never looked back.
nice video as packing is a very important point for adventure trips; weight, volume etc etc
just wonder if you are sponsored by Kriega...nice stuff but much too expensive according to me as their longevity is not proportional to the price
Any idea what tent?
Looks like something from a KTM soft parts catalog to me
Is the riding clip shot by a drone or another rider?
So much orange!

Only that small amount of clothes for 3 weeks?! I'm doing something wrong... 😅
