Great pen, I possess a variation of it. Mine has gold trims. It is a pen for connoisseurs. The clou is to know how the pen writes in a 30°, 40°(45°), or 60° angle. You'll get a certain line variation without the need to apply so much pressure on the nib. So if you know how, you'll get the chance to write very beautiful texts, without effort. The engravings of the nib are spectacular.
Thanks for a wonderful review of a really nice pen!!!!:):):) I have a number pf MB 149 fountain pens, but, I havent managed to try this Fritz Schimpf MB 149 yet.
It depends on your budget. I really like the Lamy Safari. I used one in school and still love using them today. I also think the TWSBI Eco or 580 Diamond is a good choice. If you can spend a bit more I recommend the Platinum 3776, Pilot Vanishing Point, and Lamy 2000.
I own this pen... It is my everyday writer and is on the verge of displacing my Pelikan M800 with the IB nib, as my favourite writing instrument... However However
As an italic handwriter and fountain pen collector, I find this new pen intriguing. However, I wished your video had explained why you pronounced the word “bespoke” as though it derived from “Bess poke” rather than its actual derivation: the prefix “be-“ + “SPOKE.” It’s as if you had never heard the word, but had learned it from reading and had then forgotten to check its pronunciation. (Surely a man of your character and education would have known better - so please let me know whether the amusing (mis)pronunciation “BESS-poke” is common at Montblanc and/or elsewhere in the pen business.
@@BlakesBroadcast he never claimed to have any character either :) seriously everyone has their accents and I'm sure most people knew what you meant. Heck, I suspect we're probably not even pronouncing Mont Blanc correctly.
Great review; great pen! Thanks for sharing, Blake!
My pleasure!
Another amazing video, Blake! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers from Brazil!
P.s.: Lovely watch!
You are welcome!

Thanks Michael! I appreciate it.
Love your objectivity and detailed analysis ♥️🙂
Thank you! I appreciate it.
I saw many writing sample of this pen and I was on the fence for a while. I figured it was too close to my MB 149 O3B nib.
I would agree that you likely don't need both.
This is a collectors item, hence the premium. I really liked the engraving on the nib. Thanks Blake. 😊
You are welcome.
Tremendous watch.
Though the 149 is not a pen for me, thanks for covering it with this fascinating nib.
Great vlog - thanks 👍
Thanks Kevin!
Thank you for you hard work, sir.
My pleasure.

Euro Vat is 21%, so it makes a pretty substantial difference.
This is the first edge-writer I've seen. Cool. Learn something new every day.
Yes, it is definitely cheaper to buy from the USA.
suggest a good montblanc alternative for a student, please.

How neat is this!
It's definitely unusual.

I ended up letting mine go. It just too wide for me to use regularly but it is a very special nib.
The pen is nice, the watch is better :-). Nice Glashutte Original Panomatic Reserve!
I ended up selling the pen. I still have the watch though.
