Fab work! I think sometimes people can be guilty of thinking this old, vibrant style was just a bit naive and specific to the time, but it really has a lot to do with these things being tiny and often viewed on a tabletop. Even very well painted modern styles which are more subtle tend to look like a bit of a grey-brown blur on the tabletop. This old style creates enough vibrant contrast that you can get a clear sense of the scheme on these tiny toys from a few feet away.
Thanks so much mate! Definitely! You’re not wrong about that 👏
“Angry veiny meatball” sure is a phrase 🤣🤣
I thought that the hairy belts were dwarf beards.
Love the mini and the results! I finished the newer version of skarsnik not so long ago.
I really like the Bad Moon illustration you did for this episode 🌜
Thanks so much dude! Glad you liked it 🙌
So great! Thanks for sharing. Skarsniks funny outfit is dwarf beards!
Nothing better than bright and colourful goblins. Love the old snarsnik too
Great stuff, top notch work as usual. You really are bringing back the fantastic old mini’s that everyone loved, great to see.
Thanks so much mate! Glad you like the mini selection 🍻🙌
Heck yeah! Cool! 😎 they look great!👍
Cheers mate, a good vid from yourself is gold on a rough day. Your painting is awes👍
Good to hear mate! Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed this one 🙌
Good way to end my Sunday, another cracking AoD vid.
Love this scheme, oldhammer is so much fun.
Glad you enjoyed it dude! Thanks 🍻
I feel like the final yellow highlight on the squig's skin make it read as orange instead of red. Just my opinion of course.
I love the energy you bring to your videos, great stuff!
Awesome as ever! 👍👍
You should check out Bright Pyrole Red from Pro Acryl. Most vibrant, saturated red I've ever worked with.
Another great vid mate. ❤
Got a load of gitz at Xmas so may give this a bash for the squigs. Oh and the tip of using a cocktail stick for glue has been a game changer for me. Kind of annoyed with myself for not thinking of it 😂
Nice!! More green skins 🤙🏼 keep it up big D!
Thanks my dude! Will do! 🤝
Got such a rush of nostalgia seeing those models in the bare metal! Fantastic paint job. Love your style!
Thanks mate! 🍻🙌
Surprised to hear you couldn't paint green... Its the only bloody colour I can do a half decent job with! Love the videos
+1 on emperor children favorite paint !
I'm going to paint an old metal squig the way you painted Gobblah! thanks for the deets ;)
Fun sculpts and great paint job
That's a good uptake so far

Aaah. Nostalgiaaaa. I always wanted that one. I just didn't get around to it. Excellent work 🥰
They are beauty’s! Thanks so much mate!
@@anvilofdoomminiatures old squigs are just... there's something charming about those ambulatory meatballs
Great work! Love painting squigs, especially when they did great in the latest game I played
Just awesome dude, wow
Good stuff. I love your old skool approach to painting. These guys really pop.
Thanks mate! Glad you’re enjoying it!
These are beautifully painted.
Thanks mate! 🤝
This channel goes hard, I’m inspired!
Thanks mate! 🍻
They look great, especially Skarsnik!
Thanks dude! 🍻
You're killing it every time. Fantastic work!!
so cool ! thanks for the content !!!!
These turned out so good! Hell yeah man
Outstanding colors. Great job!
You should experiment with some contrast red paints. Some have some super vibrant results so for instance the red squig would have been so simple (and a better result) using contrast for the base coat. Save time as well with so much layering/highlighting. You've doomfire magenta so expand the range! Also, Black Legion contrast is amazing. Flows like contrast, covers like a base paint. Off to the patreon now!
Yeah man, I definitely will pick some up eventually. I’ve been looking at some tutorials for contrasts lately 👍 Thanks mate! See you over there 🤝🍻😊
Great work, two of my fave models still
As a new painter, I appreciate you showing mistakes- I.e. getting green all over the teeth, and showing that isn’t the end of the model, just keep going.
Yeah dude everything can be fixed, it’s just paint at the end of the day :)
awsome work
Thanks dude!
Awesome results ❤
Thanks mate! 🤝
COOOOOOOOL!!!!!
Really impressive work! I love those details and freehand flames :D
Love from Germany
Thanks so much mate! 🙌🤝🍻
Great job once again! I have that set of minis in my backlog as well - looking forward to painting mine up now :)
Thanks dude! Nice! They are a joy to paint 🙌 you’ll have fun!
Fantastic work got a sub from me!
Hairy belt is actual dwarf beard
Of course! Now that makes sense
GOBBOS!
👹👹👹
You mention dark green when painting the skin, perhaps you mean vulkan green?
I use Vallejo Dark Green but you could definitely give Vulkan green a go :)
What color do you use for the bases?
I'm pretty sure that's a dwarf beard not a hairy belt....
