Thanks to Art for sharing his unique and personal memories. This walking tour video is a little hard to find even after it's been viewed; maybe the title can still be updated to include his name? In some ways it's shocking to see that the stage is only a few inches higher than the dance floor but as often as not the venue is a basement with an 8 foot ceiling. How patrons were able to get inside these places, refill a drink, and dance is one of the great mysteries of the universe.
Great film. I've been by some of the sites. Even been inside some. In part what drew me to visit London around 2OOO+ - from the US West Coast. Sad to find out Art Wood died in 2006. Great blues guitar theme music. Check out Pete Frame's book Rocking Around Britain.
This is fantastic. Thanks so much. Great Memories.
