I absolutely love Shins reactions during his atomic breath. We’ve seen the Big G use atomic breath plenty of times, but this is something else. It’s feels like Shins not so much breathing but more vomiting it out. You can see how it looks like he’s heaving and his tail twisting and turning behind him, another reminder of the hell he is living
I thought the same thing. I felt so bad for him, but was also terrified at the sheer magnitude of destruction. The previous Godzillas' breath weapons were on about the same level as a supersized dragon, but this was something else entirely.
@@john4elohim Shin Godzilla is similar to his first iteration, a sea creature off of the coast of Japan is mutated by radioactivity destroys tokyo, but unlike the first films godzilla, Shin Godzilla is constantly evolving in response to conditions in order to survive. heavily bleeding? And with this scenario, stealth bombers pummeling you with bombs thousands of feet in the sky? Fire breath focused into Atomic breath to destroy it. I really love the scene where the camera zooms away from his eyes, signifying that he realizes the carpet bombing will hurt him, and the way he whips his body to emit his atomic beams really gives so weight to the movements in this scene! Great work on this and I would be elated to see more! 😁
I have trouble finding a comparison, but it's like Godzilla has to throw his entire weight into aiming while firing because if he didn't the beams just wouldn't cooperate.
shin here doesnt feel like hes angry at the humans, he feels like he cant control what hes doing, hes just a little creature in this montrousity of shins body
One additional detail you added was instead of Shins fire breath phase just consuming the buildings you showed buildings actually igniting as the fire hit them which added some more ferocity to that phase. Also the little convulsions in the chest and neck before and during the part where Shin was expelling the smoke made it as if it was vomiting initially was a pretty disturbing but very cool addition. It being Shins first Atomic Breath would have probably felt extremely unnatural and what do animals do when they feel sick, try to force themselves to throw up. It adds to the character that Shin isn't some primitive alpha creature but an animal that has grown up unnatural, the chemicals not only mutated and twisted its flesh but make it extremely ill. Shin exists in an endless state of agony, choking and overheating as it attempts to stabilize its erratically changing body. Even after it manages to adapt to breathing oxygen on land it still struggles with its internal temperatures (possibly a result from extremely cancerous amounts of cellular mitosis, which does raise a creatures body temp not to mention would explain its growth rates) as well as not even knowing where it can go or what it is. It learns only after releasing the Atomic beam and literally exhausting the stored energy within can it go into a form of suspended animation/statis which possibly offers temporary respite. A very scared, malformed abomination of a lifeform that is alone, lost and exists through a state of constant suffering. Shin is definitely the most tragic and miserable iteration of the King of Kaiju.

YOU JUST ANIMATED ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC SCENES FROM SHIN'S MOVIE!!! THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL VIDEO!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! KEEP UP THE DAMN AMAZING WORK.
1:43 Oh god, something about the laser not being nearly as “hot knife through butter” clean with its slices and how with yours it smashes and breaks apart the buildings AS it slices through them makes it feel more destructive, visceral and dramatic. This is truly a work of art, you did amazing!!
There’s no way this video won’t be sitting at the very least 100,000 views in a year. Hopefully it will have 1,000,000. Calling it now. This is a visual masterpiece!
There's an excellent sense of weight to this animation- part of it is the wonderful choice of sound effects, partially it's Godzilla's actions and the world's reactions. I particularly like the details of Godzilla's spines wiggling with his footsteps. Additionally, you really get a sense for Godzilla's emotions here, as he goes from 'Oh, I don't feel too good' to 'I can use this to hurt you'. It's something that's very hard to capture with only animations, particularly with something as inflexible as Godzilla, but all the little pauses and twitches add a lot to the cinematography of the original scene. Kudos!
the back-lasers slicing through the clouds to take out the bombers was magnificent, really added to the sense of scale by visualizing their sheer range
2:14 This is a beautiful shot, with the rising crescendo of the instruments and the sheer chaos that was brought upon the city, *THIS* is truly a Kaiju sized scene.
This is the best Shin Godzilla I have ever seen. The lighting, the visual effects, camera movements, and the textures are perfect. This video deserves 10M views and you deserve 5M subscribers.
I know the sound effects in Shin Godzilla were some of the old sound effects from the old showa movies, such as explosions and such. But giving the destruction that extra "Oomph" really sold me in this version. Bravo good sir.
The scene of 0:33 is by far the best scene in the video. The scene is just angled in a way that Godzilla is a threat that is inevitably going to end Japan.
Wow. Just. Wow. I saw the thumbnail for this and I thought to myself "theres no way they can outdo the original" Good god was I wrong. This is terrifying. Its horrifically beautiful in its destruction. I think the part that got to me the most was the ground level views. They really show the scale and it makes you feel like you could be there, and you're the one about to die by fire. This video just invokes emotion that you didnt think would happen just from this but man. This is amazing.
Damn, dude. I clicked this with the mindset of "eh, why not." I'm so glad I did! For me, the animation gives the impression that Shin Godzilla is not doing this out of malice, it genuinely seems to be in great pain.
Great reimagination of the atomic fire breath! Been a while since I watched the movie, but it looked on point. I gotta say though, Shin Godzilla has got to be the freakiest Godzilla. It's shaped like Godzilla, but the differences really creeped me out. I find how it's bottom jaw splits open and creates a perfect semicircle just a bit offputting, not to mention the dead eyes and strange thing on the end of its tail. Kind of think its first form out of the water was weirdly cute in how it looked so happy to take a stroll through Tokyo.
I believe this stuff right here is the very reason I watch monster movies like Godzilla. You made such a faithful recreation and added physical character to Shin that the original movie didn’t have. I love this so much.
the fire: GODLIKE the destruction physics and particles: INSANE (though i do have some things to point out, namely stuff like glass, people, furniture, etc are all missing from the debris. sure, at that distance it's not important, but it is noticeable to some people.) the sound design was fucking phenominal as well. seriously, this thing was a blast to watch from beginning to end.

These additions added some much character to you interpretation. I haven't even mentioned all of the destruction and fire mechanics too, Seriously, I loved it already, its gone ten fold now. ITS AWESOME!!! GREAT WORK!!!
This is not even a joke, I might like this version more than the original. I haven't settled on it, but my reasoning is that some of the cinematography is just a little bit spicier than the real film. It's obviously animated, which I like. I like how shiny the cars look, and how bright the lights are. Overall, amazing job. This is just about as good as a fan can get before being hired by Toho or Legendary.

Dang! Calling this good is injustice to you! It's a mastepiece! Shin Godzilla is my favorite Godzilla of all time. Not because of the movie (Well maybe), It's because of Godzilla himself! Look at that guy... I mean God... He is SCARY. But what i also love about him is his sad truth. About being in an endless hell wanting to die. But tries to survive. Because he knows he has to. And don't get me started about his atomic ray! That harsh, bright, purple beam of death is what really gives me chills. And seeing this bold recreation of this scene, with my FAVORITE Godzilla, you know you got yourself a new sub. You deserve a million subs actually.
This is phenomenal. I mostly adore Shin Godzilla, but I do have certain gripes with it, one of them being how oddly disconnected from the real on-the-ground horror the film was. The smoke simulations are good enough through the video, but I'd suggest to crank up the normal velocity for the first part of the breath, and keyframe it so that it gradually speeds up before it transforms into the flame!
