Here’s little about me!
My name is Meghan Arriola and I live in Texas with my husband Jaime, where I dedicate my time to taking care of exotic and domesticated animals on my farm. We run a rescue and sanctuary for animals like alpacas, birds and reptiles. I do animal education presentations for groups and schools. Our alpacas also do events where we are able to teach people about these unique animals. I have used service dogs for medical needs for over 10 years and I am an advocate for assistance animals and mental health awareness.
I am an animal educator that brings science related ideas to an audience from around the world by presenting fun and interesting topics in a family friendly way. Animals touch our lives in unique ways everyday as simply being our pets and companions, but how can we make their lives equally as special now that they live in captivity? My RUclips channel and blog explore ways to meet this goal by tackling things like animal behavior, human-animal relationships and veterinary medicine. Animal science is a great way to teach people of all ages that education is fun and nerdy is cool.
My previous animal related work experience includes working in veterinary clinics, private zoos, training horses and volunteer work in wildlife rehabilitation, rescue/foster/adoption programs and therapeutic horsemanship for children with disabilities.
When I am not working with animals, I am working at the health care clinic owned by my husband Jaime and I, where we provide services to low income, minority neighborhoods. We have been on the frontlines fighting covid19. I also have a passion for art and I am an award winning painter and photographer and published author. I am naturally very introverted but I am extroverted about sharing my passions and doing my part to make the world a better place!

I was very dubious at first, I'm not gonna lie. Sometimes people with lots of animals downgrade their care as a result but I am very pleasantly surprised! All your animals look adorable and are clearly being looked after amazingly!
Omg someone’s pit bulls got onto your farm and killed some of the animals?! Did you find the owner? How incredibly devastating. It’s also so sad because that breed already gets a bad reputation
One running lose at my brothers just killed two of his neighbors dogs a few weeks ago. They have a bad rap for a reason. Mostly because of irresponsible breeding and animal husbandry mixed with their nature.
that is devastating but it’s not the pit bulls fault, people bred them for fighting , it’s not fair that people hate them ! I have 4 dogs in total, one is a Pit bull called Luna, she is my baby!! She is so intelligent and curious!! I love her!!! She wouldn’t harm a fly, some dogs are aggressive but just remember they have most likely come from a bad background❤️❤️

I respect a lot of what you do and enjoy many of the messages that you’re sending through the way you speak about your animals; eg when you talk about how they are not considered a collection etc. With this, hearing you briefly talk about how animals were killed by a pack of “pit bulls” I was surprised that you would be so irresponsible. Pit bull breeds are actually illegal and banned from the province I live in because of stigma that you’re feeding by naming the pack of dogs as pit bull. Were the dogs captured and genetically tested or are you simply saying pit bull because they had that “look”? I sincerely hope that when naming the breed you are positive of it because I assume that the pack which attacked your farm could have been a number of different bulldog / bull breed mixes that would not constitute them as a pit bull genetically or by general breed standard.... please don’t feed pit bull stigma.

it happens, I have seen people have so many PITBULLS in their backyard in a city that they are illegal to have. Being that she is HIGHLY SENSITIVE to the creature world I am positive that she would never call them pits if they were not. It is MORE THAN OBVIOUS that she is HIGHLY EDUCATED in the dog breeds. its highly educated animal lovers that are going to be the most honest about what different breeds are truly capable of doing.
there is a REASON that the PIT BULL is the dog breed used in these horrific criminal dog fighting rings. that breed has something bred into them that other breeds do not. and if they are wondering about, those instincts that we do not like are activated. they are activated in almost all breeds , but other breeds dont always act upon that instinct . they can be manipulated out of it.
there is NO WAY she would call them pits if they were not PIT BULLS.
that breed may be awesome in so many ways, but they all have a time bomb in them. some never go off, but there is always the possibility.
in just my life, i have known the biggest pit bull lovers OWN PITS attack their best friend, their owner! all because her husband and grown-up son were having a heated argument . it flipped a switch in one of her pits and the dog attacked her when she tried to separate and stop a possible fight from happening. the scar on her NECK is long and gross. She would argue with anyone saying pit bulls are the best, and it is bad owners not bad dogs that cause pit bulls to attack. SHE WAS AN OUTSTANDING owner. her dog was centimeters from killing her.
she still loves her dogs, but she now has a more honest understanding of that breed.
Loved every second of your video please keep uploading, I’ve 17 pets and I don’t like when people class them as a collection or call me a hoarder simply because each animal has their individual care, environmental enrichment, fresh food and water (as expected) but all their needs are met and I simply say a hoarder is someone who is over run by animals and can’t take care of them and every single one Of my pets is my pride and joy and they are my family ❤️
I personally have 13 fish, 7 rabbits, 4 cats, 3 dogs, 3 mice, 2 rats, 2 frogs a guinea pig, a hamster and a horse!
dont guinea pigs need to be kept in groups or pairs not alone? (not trying to be rude or anything just wondering why you only have one)

I'm so sorry for all your losses. Especially those of the dog attack. Its extremely unfortunate that it results in the dogs being pit bulls and as a pit bull advocate I'd just like to point out to all that not all pit bulls are the same. They obviously had bad owners who do not know how to care for their animals as much as you. You are awesome by the way! Love your videos and all your animals!

I am not trying to attack you or be mean I am just giving you some advice so please don't take this offensive.
I know you mean well for your animals and want them to be as healthy as possible. But with some of your animal information is false and you are giving information to people who are not professionals with animals, and who are thinking about getting an animal. They will possibly get the wrong supplies or do the wrong care for that certain animal( I am not saying this to be mean, I am just trying to give you some help, and I am not saying that you do the wrong thing with everything about your care for animals, some things are correct and some things are wrong and false information, I hope you realize that). So I think you should do a little more research on your animals to see whats false information and correct information on the care for your animals.
There is a huge difference between false information vs something that goes against your own opinion. Everything I promote is what I stand behind 100%. Sometimes my practices are not supported by everyone. But I'm not here to win a popularity competition, that's not what animals care is about.
I was just giving you some advice. I am sorry if it sounded like I was attacking you. I am not the kind of person that attacks youtubers I like to help and give advice. I know that's what animal care isn't about competition or popularity. I am a huge animal lover and I want to help people and animals. I never want to hurt animals or people.
I didnt think you were attacking me. I'm just letting you know I'm not going to take your advice. When it comes to what I promote, it's going to be based off my own research, opinion and experience. The fact that you disagree, wont play any part in my decision. But thanks for letting me know.
For mist people, keeping rabbits outside is definitely not recommended because other animals can get them, people tend to forget about them ( especially kids) and/or disease and parasites, and though I still agree with this strongly, you do take very good care of all of your companions and you said they don't like people too much and they wouldn't get along with your other rabbit. No hate, god forbid someone takes this the wrong way
My dog was a parvo surviver but he died June 15th 2017. 2 days before my birthday.😭😭😭
Parvo is a horrible disease and is highly contagious which can leave the dog in a critical condition once they are infected with the virus . Your dog was one of the lucky ones he must have been quiet the fighter i am sorry you lost him afterwards . I have been there myself loosing 3 of my dogs within 6 months 2 of them died in the same week and the other 4 months later of cancer , I hope things are improving for you now it is hard mourning the lost of someone you loved .

i dont get how some people like to say that animals arent biengs but things and treat them like they arent a part of our lives even if you dont like animals there is no chance of avoiding them anyways so always accept that many animals risk there lives everyday so we can survive and for our personal entertainment

Loved this video! What a family! I also love animals, only I had 4 children, so I couldn't live that way, but I think it's awesome! I'm sure you're up early and sleep pretty late at night with all that care! You have such a passion and such knowledge, it's great! Your comment in the beginning of the video makes me know you obviously deal with hate comments and criticism, I remember once I left a comment on a channel from a video that was ranting about you putting male mice together! Most people who judge only do so because they’re jealous. You don’t owe anyone any explanation or excuse. Just keep living your best life! It’s unfortunate that people can’t be trusted into others lives to behave, so you haven’t been able to do these again. Would love to see more about the finches and your life. I’ve been researching Sugar Gliders & have wanted them for a long while. I live in the Uk, England & they aren’t that easy to come by.
I read so much on social media about them not being good pets, I don’t know what to believe. I have 3 dogs & I love them all so much but would love to love some SG to. I’m 11 and am considering a second dog. I already have a dachshund (AKA a sausage dog). I thought getting a corgi would be appropriate as they both have a.. ‘similar’ shape and a similar temperament. It bothers me that you talk about breeding a lot I work in the rescue and see so many species of animals being euthanized every day and here you are talking about breeding your own rescue animals are just as good

I recently came across that my hobby is defiantly animals I love finding out information about them looking after them seeing them and doing research on how to look after them decorating and putting all my time and effort into them I’m getting 2 guinea pigs in a few days at the moment I only have fish I wish to have more animals but would be to expensive so I think I need to look for a job related to animals 😁😍 so I can look after animals that need love and not have to worry about not being able to feed them or keep them happy luckily I can defiantly afford a few animals but not a lot 😁 I’m 20 years old just in case anyone was wondering 😁

I think I want to breed snakes.. I love snakes a lot I’m passionate about it! And I’d love to be able to gift other people snakes so they can have the pet of their dreams especially sense the reptile community I feel like is slowly growing. So of course I want some snakes, but I also want a dog, and some type of bird like a parakeet or something. Of course I’ll need to do a lot more research on birds before I buy one but I do want one eventually

We burn the horns off of our goats when they are younger so they don't hurt the other goats and sometimes the horns will curve back into there heads and dig in so we dont want to take the risk. But anyways your pets are really lucky to have you as there owner

I have a peacock to his name is frizzle his first habitat was the mountains but he is from the forest 🌳 his tail isn’t fully grown and he’s missing one eye and he likes to hang out with are chickens and duck!

I really support people like you, I don’t think your crazy, or anything like that. I have over 100 animals right now at my small rescue. I dedicate my life to them. I really don’t have many friends but I don’t care because my animals are my best friends and a huge part of my family. Btw Porscha is GORGEOUS!!!!

So I wanted to leave the horns on my boar buck but it’s become the point where it’s to dangerous. He gets stuck almost every day and with summer coming we worry he will get stuck when we’re not home. He also somehow completely hung himself from the fence and almost choked to death. I feel awful having to remove the horns but I also
Don’t want him to kill himself
The solution is simple, get better fencing.
Happy Tails we tried but his horns stick straight up and I matter what we do he still sticks his head in and twists getting stuck🤦🏼♀️he’ll do it over and over

I am passionate about animals since I saw my grandma's dog (when I was 5) and now I am 11 and now I am kind of thinking what I want to be when I grow up, and you have made clear on what I want to do, plus what happened to me last month, I lost both my guineas, I really want to spread awareness about many animals in India as there is minimum knowledge about many pets like Guinea pigs...LOVE ANIMALS!!!
