I think this is why Elden Ring is so different yet so nostalgic. Dark Souls has always been about the inevitable and that even if the protagonist “won” the world would still be in a horrible state of dread. All throughout Elden Ring you really feel like a “hero” someone that can genuinely change the course of the lands between, there is hope and through the pain and struggles the protagonist has the power to change it for the better if they so choose. Love and adore this game!
I really like that the World is for the most part (not caelid) quite a nice place actually. Like it has a functioning ecosystem for once, with some wild Animals and healthy forests. Not just some crumbling hellhole through and through.
I think you nailed the description of the Apostles perfectly. The choir's give the vibe that the thing you're fighting is sacred and religious, but the instruments underneath hint that there's something dark and sinister going on. As the song goes on those sinister twisted chords grow in intensity, and the Choir shouts louder, like the Apostles are desperately trying to hide their evil nature under a aura of nobility and holiness. At 7:29, when you said "hold up, before we move on", I was expecting some sort of abrupt transition into an ad or a sponsor or something, but instead you gave an enthusiastic explanation about something in the track. It was incredibly refreshing! I was randomly recommended your videos and while I know nothing about music theory, I love the genuine, passionate feeling of your videos. Keep up the good work!
When I was skimming the Elden Ring OST a couple days after release, the Godskin Apostle theme stood out almost immediately. The suspended progression in the second phase (9:14) punched me in the gut and whispered “Listen. I’m your new favorite soulsborne track.” Also, about 5:27. One of the first Apostles you meet (if you avoid the Caelid Tower altogether) will be in a place called “Domminula” or “Windmill Village”. The residents there are all seem to share the general mindset of the Godskin Apostles, and will brutally skin outsiders of their village. When you first enter the village, you see all of the residents-women, all-frolicking and dancing around crucified people. At the very top of this village lies a Godskin Apostle. I think that’s what this part of the song is meant to represent.
I met the one in Domminula first, and it was very impactful; it didn't feel like he was out of place, it felt like I was out of place. I was somewhere I shouldn't be.
They were a terrifying sight indeed. The rage of man made manifest, whose faith in what they were doing was so great they had their own Sacred Seal. They were the relentless march of death, bringing finality to the infinite. They weren’t evil. They were the End.
I would also like to say that the horn parts in the second phase reflect very well how (in my opinion) they were heroes. Crazy heroes, maybe even antiheroes… but heroes nonetheless. Leading the charges against power mad gods, they did the impossible, and despite their madnesses, I respect them for that. I feel the same way about the Abyss Watchers.
The Godskin track really goes harder than I expected for the type of lore that's behind it. You'd think the Godskins would have played a bigger role considering how antagonistic they are in contrast to the "Holy Erdtree" and it's demi-gods.
They did. They were children of Gloameyed queen and they almost succeed in replacing Golden Order with their own Order, but their mother was slain and rune of death was sealed which made their god killing flames weaker. Basically they are wondering holy order that became even more brutal after their mother died.
That break where the choir is soloed out was so good I nearly dropped my controller when I first heard it. It's definitely the best song I've heard thus far in the game.
First time I found this track, my first thought was somewhat as following: "This feels like I'm being sacrilegious just being here and facing this guy, gives the feel of It being really important but also really cursed and dangerous"
Yeah, Radagon has by far the best soundtrack in the game, it's so damn good. I think it rivals the other super good soundtracks in the Soulsborne games like Gael or Ludwig for an example.
@@ceazarsalad1333 I also wouldnt say in particular aswell because of how much a banger soul of cinder’s first phase is. But overall radagon does have the most epic of final boss OST and it fits with more heroic themes of Elden ring in general
Radagons ost hits really hard because it’s a remix of the main theme. As soon as the leitmotif hits and the fight starts you need a change of pants from all the excitement.
Definitely take a listen to Mohg, Lord of Blood, it’s genuinely one of the best tracks in the game. It definitely channels that evil bloodborne energy.
Funny you mention "Bloodborne energy." I haven't finished the game yet (I'm at the Giant's Mountain), but Mogh, Lord of Blood is the only boss so far that's given me the same feeling as Bloodborne bosses, where I start getting nervous when I get close to defeating them, and having after battle jitters.
@@Churi_Venatriss There is one particular boss during Ranni the lunar witches storyline that gave me harder lovecraft aura than even Bloodborne! I dont want spoil you if you havent done it. But its an extremely unsettling boss enemy completed by an otherworldly soundtrack to it
as a music student I could listen to you for hours.. So hyped what you will say about Radahns Theme and "the final Battle". These are my two favourites with laurence theme all across the games
This is one of my favorite compositions in the entire game. The tempo and it's delivery is distinct, methodical, consistent. The mixed choral themes with small tweaks and minor chords to end screams a sense of twisted holiness, as if seeing a conventional Orthodox church and walking inside to see nothing but snakes. The transition is honestly one of my favorites in the entire game. It's so unconditionally ruthless that promotes a sense of false majesty, while also conveying a very clear and distinct tone of being _successful._ The way this is delivered, the somber overtones, it makes me feel more like this is a song of utter betrayal. Not only betrayal, but glorified betrayal. This song is what plays when your best friend not only stabs you in the back, but pushes you aside to claim treasure that was rightfully yours. This is a song played by a cunning advisor who uses his charisma to enthrall the people to overthrow the king and put himself into place. The song of someone who went through any means necessary to not only acquire power, but uproot someone just in the process. It is not only evil, but rejoicing in this evil, rejoicing in any usurpation, _AND_ whomever did this succeeded. This theme screams "Fallen Angel" in a conventional judeo-christian mythological sense. This song is John Milton's Satan from Paradise Lost.
Elden Ring music really is a art, The beauty and the effort made put into making these songs makes me tear up with joy, can't express the feeling in any better way, Such amazing music ❤
This is great, definitely feels like a war between darkness and light. The middle part with the angelic singing was like ascension, only to be pulled back down into hell. Towards the end it starts to feel very hopeless, almost like there are no victors. Loved it, thanks Davi, congratulations on exceeding 20k subs!
The second part of this track only kicks in during the Godskin Duo fight, when one of them revives the other, and you realize this isn't a normal godskin encounter. While it can be a pretty frustrating fight, this is an epic moment. Love the dynamic sound design.
I love that heart sinking moment of hearing the music kick up, and you either see the other godskin approach again, or get hit with a black fireball randomly
Thank you for covering all these Elden Ring themes, helps to go back to them and listening to you get the gist of the Boss is always fun. It's tough to enjoy these boss themes during the fights. You catch glimpses here and there of the beauty of it but because you're fighting for survival its tough to enjoy.
You nailed it as always. So grand and beautiful yet so twisted and corrupt. Favorite track out of Elden Ring and I'm not even done yet! A new composer to From Software's lineup and what a breakout introduction!
5:26 if you listen closely to the background if this singular chord you can hear a sweet calming sound, kinda like a piece of Elden beasts theme taken into this and it’s beautiful…(you need headphones to hear it really good btw)
Starscourge Radahn has to be my favorite theme especially phase 2, such a heroic theme, and kinda sad as well towards the end, its his last moments of doing what he loves before you defeat him. I would say God Devouring Serpent is overall the most impressive and jaw dropping ost from the whole game though, for me at least, Malenia and Margit have amazing themes as well, most themes in this game are just so well made, Fire Giant, Ancestor spirit, they make you feel bad for killing some of these bosses.
An interesting piece of their lore related to the isolation of the gentler female choir is that the Godskin Apostles are all lead by a goddess called the Gloam Eyed Queen, who treats them as her children. So in the song, specifically towards the end, you have the main female choir singing, then the song copies her singing, and at the final part the female choir leads and the rest of the song hits after it, like the Queen leading her apostles to battle.
Very good video! I really appreciate the clarity with which you explain what happens in it, and taking the time to break it down into parts. This soundtrack is my favourite in the entire game; there is an unparalleled artistic beauty to it, in my opinion. It might be a bit of a wild claim, but I see this soundtrack as something that should be considered modern classical; it is so beautiful, expressive and nuanced, and I appreciate how you highlighted these things as well.
I've always loved to watch him analyze the specific parts of these songs, but this song goes SO HARD that whenever it cuts away from the track there's always that feeling of "aw shit, they cut away from the good part". Because it's ALL the good part. I think this is my new favorite FromSoft boss theme.
One of the absolute best themes in the whole series. The alternating positive and negative chords perfectly represent their design, both aristocratic-militaristic, and dissonant-grotesque. The best themes are the ones that mirror the lore and design of enemies, and this theme couldn't be any better.
The delay you pointed out at 12:24 reminds me of the same half measure delay at the start of Proof of a Hero - one single instrument or section to drive the melody home followed by everybody else to give it the power it needs. Two excellent pieces of music using the same trick to achieve dramatically different feelings in the listener!
I’ll never forget coming across that one godskin apostle in Altus Plateau and hearing this theme for the first time It just completely blew me away how amazing this track was, it felt like I really just came across some ancient sacred secret that was never meant to be found, but now that I found it I was responsible for making sure it was taken out of the world Very dramatic for a random field boss I know, but that’s just how powerful the track is
Dude. I really like how you describe the chords to their spiritual and emotional meaning. When u point it out, then i realize, "yeah, i feel the same way when i hear this"
The theme of this boss is stuck in my head for like 2+ weeks now, one of the most memorable bosses that absolutely kicked my ass and somehow did not frustrate me, the music just made me love him so much.
It's such a masterpiece, it remains me so much of the Ludwig track, powerful percussion, amazing choir and this organ By far my favourite track on this game, thx for covering it Next time you need to listen to the " Lichdragon fortissax"
The fight you showed in particular is also very special. This can be the first godskin apostle you find. If you are attentive when exploring a certain area in the game he is in the bottom of a hidden area, and it feels super hype to fight him specially because he is super buffed when compared to the enemies of the surrounding area. The treasure he guards is also very lore heavy. It belonged to the deceased dusk-eyed queen who was their leader; thus it makes sense that this guy was sooo powerful
I googled how to get to him specifically to get that treasure... got there at level 62 and got severely beaten until I put on the chilling mist Ash Of War. I was so amazed by him at the end that I ended up wearing his hood and the full set of his blackflame guardians.
The track right before Starscourge Radahn in Redmane Keep is one of my favorites. Sets the tone of the story behind what Radahn has become so perfectly.
One of the reasons i really like your analysis is that you try to understand what the music is SAYING about the subject. You usually catch what they're throwing and understand the characterization behind the song and why it is the way it is. Thank you for that.
For Bloodborne they got an oldschool Latin chorus/orchestra for a bunch of tracks. Given the amount of knowhow in that style of music in this song like you mentioned, I wonder if they were brought back for Elden Ring.
A totally unappreciated track that I do not see a lot of love over is the theme of Lichdragon Fortissax. They didn’t have to go off so hard for an incredibly optional boss.
Oh man. This is some really really good song analysis :O The fact that I can picture said Godskin Apostles, just from your description of the music... Fekin brilliant music holly shet :O
It's awesome how much lore you can glean just from the OST! SekiSoulsBorne games tell so much of their story through the gameplay and soundtrack/ambience. It's also extremely fitting that there are more heroic notes when the story is about fighting the demigod heroes of the past to rise above your status.
Hey Davi, this track is very reminiscent of the Deacons of the Deep track from Dark Souls 3, in the regard of it being a dessecration of traditionally holy chord sequences, and it's an absolutely fantastic track. Even if it's stepping back a bit, I'd love to see your take on the track at some point
I hope to hear your coverage of the Regal Ancestor Spirit. It's my favorite song in the game and very different from other boss tracks. I really love your videos and how they explore the language of music and how it can communicate ideas even without words. This kind of "music psychology," and how chords and measures can evoke feelings and images in people across cultures is so fascinating to me. And your videos really make these complex topics approachable and digestible even for total laymen like me. Please keep up the great work! 😁
Another amazing breakdown and man what a song, especially for a really minor boss. If your looking to do another elden ring track then i reckon either Mohg lord of blood or Radahns. Mohg's is more unusual whereas Radahns is like some sort of tectonic military march, would love to hear your thoughts on them!
Very cool video. The Godskin Apostle song definitely stuck with me as a standout track from Elden Ring, just because those choirs are so powerful and it has an interesting rhythm and dark aggressiveness to it. - Thank you for covering it
This song was the first that I just stopped fighting to listen to. I love it. Also one I'd recommend looking at is lichdragon fortissax's theme, it's brilliant
Great reaction and analysis as always! I think the holiness and righteousness which are pregnant with the madness are really well expressed in this theme. At first, I was intimidated by their fanaticism, but gradually I was overwhelmed and fascinated. I feel the blissful vibe in this theme somehow. Very unique and addictive theme. Thank you for this video, Davi. I really enjoyed it!
Love this track so much. Thanks for taking a deeper look at it Davi! It really hits all the best emotional beats with the choir. They're tough bosses too no matter what level you're at!
I love these videos man, theyre always so good. You should definitely do the Dragonlord Placidusax track from elden ring it's insane Edit: also lorewise these guys are fucked up, they use Black Fire to kill gods then skin them (hence the apostles weapon name, Godskin Peeler) and wear their skin
there’s not really much evidence to say the skin they wear is the skin of gods, more evidence against it than anything tbh. with godwyn being the first god to die and that the godskin are much older than that event, as well as the fact that their black flames power of destined death was taken by maliketh and now does not have the power to kill any gods
@@i-eat-moss It's still possible that they wear the skin of gods. Marika wasn't the first god, there were other nations and other gods before the Greater Will started influencing the Lands Between. The ancient dragons had a god (according to the remembrance of Placidusax) , the fire giants had a Fell god who lived among them (according to the incantation "Flame of the Fell god"), and the godskin existed before Marika and her offspring so maybe the godskin killed some of the other gods who existed long ago
I'm so glad I stumbled on this channel. Highly recommend "Iudex Gundyr" or "Dragonslayer Armour" from Dark Souls 3 at some point. Two of my favorites from that game.
This is my favorite theme in the game, I'm really happy you decided to review it! I honestly didn't think this would get as recommended, considering the Godskins play a very minor role in the game, but I'm glad other people love this track as much as I do.
Godskin Apostle is one of my favorite fights in the game because I love boss fights that feel like a fiery dance. Constant motion, dodging every single attack but still taking every opportunity to counterattack, the flow of combat never stopping, always coursing Such a great fight
5:25 really got that lunatic sect vibe. It would fit into an anime soundtrack, like I can totally imagine that choir in the background during a scene in Death Note.
I just wanted to add this, the definition of Apostle (noun) is: One of the twelve chief disciples of Christ, or a person sent on a mission in order to instruct of the gospel. (Feel free to correct me on that) So yes, as you said, this song is absolutely meant to have a religious undertone. Even the lore implies this, as the Godskins supposedly serve a Queen, who I believe is against the main "religion" or "order" of the game.
I love the way you break down each song and explain everything thats happening. So I would like to reccomend "the city must survive" from the frostpunk ost
All the tracks are excellent, a few I think are particularly noteworthy are malenia, radahn, ancient dragon lansseax and dragonlord placidusax. Regardless, I'll be looking forward to whatever's covered next
Damn i love so much your videos, you always manage to explain in an understandable way and make people learn new things in each video. Whenever I've faced a new boss with a nice ost on elden ring or dark souls I was hoping to find a video of you about it. Hope the soulsborne playlist continues to grow! I would love to see more of your videos about other ost from elden ring and dark souls, such as starscourge Radahn from Elden ring, which is practically the literal soundtrack of a war, and has a piece in which the choirs are magnificent and very powerful, and then from Dark souls I'd like to see you react to Sister Friede; Twin Princes and the demon Prince, in my opinion all beautiful ost. Thanks for your videos, keep it up!
I'm gonna recommend Lichdragon Fortissax for the second time, hoping it gets seen. This track is just too good to pass up. It's epic- I mean, it has to be, it's for a *LICHDRAGON*.

I’m your new favorite soulsborne track.”
Also, about 5:27.
I think that’s what this part of the song is meant to represent.
yeah I met the two Godskin Apostles, 1st Caelid, 2nd Leyndell, back to back and I knew some funky shit was up
I met the one in Domminula first, and it was very impactful; it didn't feel like he was out of place, it felt like I was out of place. I was somewhere I shouldn't be.
I am addicted to how they used that suspended chord, it's so good.
Oh that’s why the weapon is called the Godskin peeler
i think theyre just busting it down to the theme
He really need to hear "Final battle"
Such Beautiful music , the hype and beauty of the soundtrack is so badass
Agree, final music is great
They were a terrifying sight indeed.
I don’t think there are any heroes in Elden Ring. Everyone is serving themself, survival of the fittest since the Shattering.
The Godskin track really goes harder than I expected for the type of lore that's behind it. You'd think the Godskins would have played a bigger role considering how antagonistic they are in contrast to the "Holy Erdtree" and it's demi-gods.
They do show up a ton throughout the game.
I agree
They did.
They were children of Gloameyed queen and they almost succeed in replacing Golden Order with their own Order, but their mother was slain and rune of death was sealed which made their god killing flames weaker.
Basically they are wondering holy order that became even more brutal after their mother died.
Lichdragon fortissax is another criminally underrated theme. That fight is so cinematic. Also 10/10 skybox lol
That break where the choir is soloed out was so good I nearly dropped my controller when I first heard it.
It's definitely the best song I've heard thus far in the game.
i find it funny how one of the most loved tracks plays during one of the most hated fights (godskin duo)
First time I found this track, my first thought was somewhat as following:
"This feels like I'm being sacrilegious just being here and facing this guy, gives the feel of It being really important but also really cursed and dangerous"
Im a huge fan of the track for Lichdragon Fortisaxx, most organ ive ever heard in a fromsoft piece, i highly recommend it.
Most organ we’ve got since Bloodborne, and it sound so gooood
I second this
Amazing that all of this can be communicated through music. You nailed who the Goskins are just by listening to their theme. Incredible.
Radagon has legit the most epic final boss theme the souls games ever made
Yeah, Radagon has by far the best soundtrack in the game, it's so damn good.
I think it rivals the other super good soundtracks in the Soulsborne games like Gael or Ludwig for an example.
@@rohan8243 woah woah woah woah, slow down there. It’s very good but I don’t think it’s on those guys level
@@nefarious8278 compared to the other final bosses theme from has made this one in particular is the most epic
I love that piece. It’s my personal favorite bc of the amazing dance-like rhythm
But its an extremely unsettling boss enemy completed by an otherworldly soundtrack to it
Morgott fights like a sekiro boss while mohg fights like a bloodborne one lol
@@nathanielleack4842 Ah the stars that fell from the cosmos eh?
as a music student I could listen to you for hours.. So hyped what you will say about Radahns Theme and "the final Battle". These are my two favourites with laurence theme all across the games
godskin track never fails to give me chills. It's so beautiful and sinister at the same time.
"Dragonlord Placidusax" is a very good track in Elden Ring too, definetly one of my favourites in the game.
The melody at 11:01 with the sudden dramatic burst after each pause has been stuck in my head for days
I remember vividly that godskin apostle was the first track that really made me go "Wow!" when I heard it in the game
That and Radagon for me
This is one of my favorite compositions in the entire game.
It's so unconditionally ruthless that promotes a sense of false majesty, while also conveying a very clear and distinct tone of being _successful._
The way this is delivered, the somber overtones, it makes me feel more like this is a song of utter betrayal.
5:28 that face 😁
Well it's true that with the OSTs of this game (apart from a few) we don't expect something so beautiful like that one
12:47 you can see the anticipation on your face for those last two chords to resolve... I felt it too. Still an amazing track!
Didn't expect you to react to this one, but I won't complain, Elden Ring music is always good
5:26 if you listen closely to the background if this singular chord you can hear a sweet calming sound, kinda like a piece of Elden beasts theme taken into this and it’s beautiful…(you need headphones to hear it really good btw)
I think what I truly adore about your videos is that you manage to put into words the emotions I feel when I hear the music.
Great video man. You've basically summed up the mantra of the Godskins just by listening to the music, impressive!
Love this piece. For the next Elden ring reaction, I highly suggest the Mohg, Lord of Blood soundtrack! Great video
I’m so glad to find videos like this. Your explanation makes the music to be even much higher impact. Great video
Dude this is insanely interesting and insightful! Love the video. ~
The Amen Chord! Learned something new today. This is what reaction channels should be like!
Thank you my skeleton friend
I’ll never forget coming across that one godskin apostle in Altus Plateau and hearing this theme for the first time
It just completely blew me away how amazing this track was, it felt like I really just came across some ancient sacred secret that was never meant to be found, but now that I found it I was responsible for making sure it was taken out of the world
Very dramatic for a random field boss I know, but that’s just how powerful the track is
Dude. I really like how you describe the chords to their spiritual and emotional meaning. When u point it out, then i realize, "yeah, i feel the same way when i hear this"
That is great to know, thanks!
the way you describe godskin apostle is exactly how they are.
Man dude, you really help me appreciate the music, that i already loved, that much more.
most underrated youtuber, super entertaining
The theme of this boss is stuck in my head for like 2+ weeks now, one of the most memorable bosses that absolutely kicked my ass and somehow did not frustrate me, the music just made me love him so much.
It's such a masterpiece, it remains me so much of the Ludwig track, powerful percussion, amazing choir and this organ
By far my favourite track on this game, thx for covering it
Next time you need to listen to the " Lichdragon fortissax"
Your understanding for music is phenomenal
This is one of the best themes of the game, at least in my opinion
Lichdragon fortissax 🥰🥰
Best analysis i’ve seen. That “happiness” shocked me due to how on point it is from a lore perspective. Very well done :)
This track never ceases to give me goosebumps
Yeah, its one of those kind of tracks
I was LITERALLY hoping you'd check this track since your Godrick video. I am so glad you did, it's so unique and haunting.
Never knew that his theme song would be this beautiful.
cause every time I fight him, I'll just keep focus on surviving that black flame lol
Yessss the music of the Radahn Festival before your start the actual fight is so epic and gets you ready for an amazing fight.
yeppp, and its a lot like the Halo theme haha with the Gregorian chants
One of the reasons i really like your analysis is that you try to understand what the music is SAYING about the subject. You usually catch what they're throwing and understand the characterization behind the song and why it is the way it is. Thank you for that.
For Bloodborne they got an oldschool Latin chorus/orchestra for a bunch of tracks. Given the amount of knowhow in that style of music in this song like you mentioned, I wonder if they were brought back for Elden Ring.
Bloodborn compositor work on elden ring
At work rn listening to the song thinking about how much I would love for you to react to this song. Lo and behold, you deliver. Love you man
Haha, thanks Kenneth
I love this theme so much.
Same
Dude your analysis of the songs are so accurate and well done, big props
A totally unappreciated track that I do not see a lot of love over is the theme of Lichdragon Fortissax. They didn’t have to go off so hard for an incredibly optional boss.
Oh man. This is some really really good song analysis :O
The fact that I can picture said Godskin Apostles, just from your description of the music... Fekin brilliant music holly shet :O
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon and Regal Ancestor Spirit are two themes I think would be great to listen to as well!
The thing I love about davi is you see the exact moment he gets almost entranced by the music. This is one of those times.
One of my favorite tracks! It's SO good. I would also like to recommend Mohg, Lord of Blood, which is my favorite.
Please, PLEASE take a listen at the "Lichdragon Fortissax" theme, another absolute stand out from Elden Ring's already phenomenal soundtrack
Love this track so much. Thanks for taking a deeper look at it Davi! It really hits all the best emotional beats with the choir. They're tough bosses too no matter what level you're at!
I love these videos man, theyre always so good. You should definitely do the Dragonlord Placidusax track from elden ring it's insane
Edit: also lorewise these guys are fucked up, they use Black Fire to kill gods then skin them (hence the apostles weapon name, Godskin Peeler) and wear their skin
there’s not really much evidence to say the skin they wear is the skin of gods, more evidence against it than anything tbh. with godwyn being the first god to die and that the godskin are much older than that event, as well as the fact that their black flames power of destined death was taken by maliketh and now does not have the power to kill any gods
@@i-eat-moss godgwin is not a god, he is a demi-god
@@i-eat-moss It's still possible that they wear the skin of gods. Marika wasn't the first god, there were other nations and other gods before the Greater Will started influencing the Lands Between. The ancient dragons had a god (according to the remembrance of Placidusax) , the fire giants had a Fell god who lived among them (according to the incantation "Flame of the Fell god"), and the godskin existed before Marika and her offspring so maybe the godskin killed some of the other gods who existed long ago
@@A123ftw actually fair point
Great video ! I find it really weird that no one mentionned it yet but "Lichdragon Fortissax" might be my favorite track in the game.
I'm so glad I stumbled on this channel. Highly recommend "Iudex Gundyr" or "Dragonslayer Armour" from Dark Souls 3 at some point. Two of my favorites from that game.
Exactly! Love those ones to death!
This is my favorite theme in the game, I'm really happy you decided to review it! I honestly didn't think this would get as recommended, considering the Godskins play a very minor role in the game, but I'm glad other people love this track as much as I do.
Definitely should listen to Mohg, the Lord of Blood's theme, it's great. Good video.
Godskin Apostle is one of my favorite fights in the game because I love boss fights that feel like a fiery dance.
Constant motion, dodging every single attack but still taking every opportunity to counterattack, the flow of combat never stopping, always coursing
Such a great fight
5:25 really got that lunatic sect vibe. It would fit into an anime soundtrack, like I can totally imagine that choir in the background during a scene in Death Note.
I just wanted to add this, the definition of Apostle (noun) is: One of the twelve chief disciples of Christ, or a person sent on a mission in order to instruct of the gospel.
(Feel free to correct me on that)
So yes, as you said, this song is absolutely meant to have a religious undertone. Even the lore implies this, as the Godskins supposedly serve a Queen, who I believe is against the main "religion" or "order" of the game.
I love how you react subbed my man.
I spent like a whole 2 hours fighting this boss I was so frustrated but I got to hear this masterpiece without ever listening to something like this
Get good
@@_Dat_Edgy_Boi_ He's doing a level 1 run
Such an amazing breakdown to one of my favorite OST. Well done my man . Subbed
Lichdragon Fortissax is really great, up there with godskin apostles
That second phase is godlyyyy. Lord of blood is also one of my favorites, and malenia is a classic incredible kitamura track.
video like this makes me appreciate the game & the details even more...thanks
