The m60 was especially designed with the purpose of being fired from the hip. The m60 was America's first attempt at the concept of the General Machine Gun, created by the Danish and the Germans, which was a Machine Gun platform that could be adapted for vechile and mounted use, as well as infantry use fired from a bipod or from the hip. The m60 was designed in mind with the capability of being hip fired in situations that may arise and to this day most GMGs used by countries are made with the intent of hip fire use.

Guns are made in mind with the idea to not recoil much if ideal, and when they do recoil, they recoil back into your shoulder (if you properly hold it) and rarely to they just climb up while your accuaracy goes to shit. I always cringe when that guy that GameSpot brings to do video game gun reviews says that guns do not have enough climb. If a modern 5.56 rifle climbs up at all when you're shooting it, you're shooting it wrong.

Especially cs is so bad. when running the projectile could literally hit just a bit in front of your foot meanwhile your crossair is pointing straight ahead. Projectile magically curves down by a massive amount after leaving the barrel because game logic
Fun fact, you could mod in the machete into regular CS:CZ. Take all the view and world model and replace the default knife's model. I remember playing around with replacing weapons and models back in the day. Hell, you could even replace the hostages with the CT models from Deleted Scenes. You could also take those models and replace the scientist, Hgrunt, and Barney guards in Half Life.
just some note the shield in csgo is based on cs beta 4.0, you can carry it for defense capability but if you want to fire your gun, you have to drop it, that's what minh lee said, quote from ESC. the shield made by gearbox software is complete different mechanic which was later implemented to 1.6, cz, and xbox, and yeah is was planned to add along side with t weapon, law rocket launcher, but it got cut. some of these cut weapons like m60 and machete made into cs spin off, by nexon.
There's a fun bug with LAW in Deleted Scenes,where,after you fire it,quickly use Q before it's thrown away(or what ever button you use for quick switch to previous weapon). This way you can fire LAW as a many times as you wish as long as you don't swap your weapons
Btw, Kreig 550 commando was not just renamed, it is already a slightly different weapon. There was a caliber 5.56 with less damage and a magazine for 30, and not 20 rounds like SCAR
In the first versions of Condition Zero it was planned to add the Law rocket launcher, in fact there are several screenshots of the beta game, where the wake and flash of the rocket are shown.
I was at my local range with my 9mm and the guy two lanes down had a suppressed MP5 (the integral suppressor) and I was startled how quiet it actually was. It was damn near Hollywood suppressed quiet. Not quite, but you would not hear it two rooms away. He let me shoot it and I was instantly in love. It has the perfect weight with a slight muzzle heavy feel. I put 5 rounds on the head area with no effort. It had a red dot that made target acquisition a snap. I don't know how it was in game, but in real life it would make a skilled operator extremely lethal, even more so than normal.

I remember vividly that me and my father used to play a pirated version of C.S 1.6 and we managed to counter the Tactical Shield, what we used to do was I would camp in an angle where it gave me an 180° view and a direct shot to the enemies behind. Meanwhile, he would do the same but from a different angle. Good times. (I also apologize if it too hard to understand what I wanted to say, I'm not good at explaining things.)

Played since CS beta 5.1 but I really didn't recall many of those mentioned weapons. You can do jumping shoot with sniper rifles back then and still get accurate shot 🤣
Also, as far as i know, there was a maps that allowed you to use mounted machinegun. And i'm not talking about fan made maps. I'm talking about official maps that never made it in to the final version of the game, do to obvious reasons. But i only played fan made maps that allows you to do that. And, when you are using that mounted machinegun, then it is fun. But when enemy does that, and you try to deal with them, it becomes frustrating. The only way i managed to take out enemy with mounted machinegun, is by sneaking in the distance with sniper rifle, and taking him out by a perfect headshot, or by throwing a grenade, but since CS 1.6 grenades doesn't do one shot kill, it does not help most of the times.

Weird thing is, shield is easily encounterable. Just shoot the legs, shield looks like cover whole body with skin texture but its not, legs are exposed. Quick spray to the lower part of shield or 2 shots from awp would do the job
Because many servers disabled shield, many players tried and played against shield. I found out this when bots decided to use shields and they just stand still
miss the good old days when me and my friends would play cs 1.6 and then argue why our teams didnt win ahhhhhhh man i miss those days i wish i could go back in time just to play again
There's also the Scar-17 from CS:GO Beta that was cut. You can find videos and even get the beta version online of csgo and play with it. The scar 17 was later replaced with the M4A4.

@@Nonebit I don't remember the name, but it was some desert hostage map, where you can jump in a LAV- 25 and you can shoot it's cannon, even rotate the turret. Same as the Abrams. The LAV was on a spot where ct-s could easily escape with hostages. The Abrams was on a city map, and easily reach by ct-s to camp a spot where t-s could reach plant A easily. The Machine guns was on a few maps and mostly on t side against ct-s.

I have good memories with tactical shield. When I was little I wandered around CS's server browsers and found one in particular. It was filled with russian bots / cheaters (or at least my 10years old brain thought that way), they could wall bang me every time there was a bangable wall, anyway... I found there is a shield option in buy menu and it helped me! I no longer was killed by things I see and don't see every time I leave spawn room! I could actually play the damn game! And on another note, in two weeks playing on this server I become better at the game than my friend who played for months who challenged me to a duel with a thought of easy win ;)
Fun fact the SIG SG553 in CSGO is actually the SIG SG556 Export model for the US. The real world SIG SG553 is an updated SG552 Commando which also looks identitcal to the SG552. I prefered the SIG SG552 Commando for its unique look and love of Swiss rifles.
For the weapons that you noted that were renamed or slightly altercated, I believe that you're mistaken that all the weapons today are pretty much the same as the ones in the older games. However I disagree with some, rather some of the older weapons were "completely replaced" by CS:GO guns. The Leone Gauge Super's actual name is the M3 which was replaced by the Nova. The Schmidt Machine Pistol's actual name is the Tactical Machine Pistol (TMP) which is replaced by the MP9 The Kreig 552 is just the SG 552 which is replaced by its younger variant SG 553 The Schmidt Scout was completely replaced by the SSG08. The Kreig 550 Commando is just the SG 550 replaced by the SCAR-20
I missed the whole of CSGO, after playing 1.5 through Source a lot, and I came back for CS2. I was immediately caught off guard with how the MP5, a reliable workhorse to Ts and CTs alike, had apparently fallen from grace long ago.

1:07 you might want to give a try on CSO/CS Nexon Zombie/CS Nexon Studio, the M60 was rebuild in that game (has many modified variants also: Gold M60, Balrog 7, M60 Maverick,...). CSO is one of the CS games still keeps the most basically things of the legendary fps game. Zombie modes is also fun
Can you do a video about counter strike 1.5 modes? I remember being able to switch to ricochet, half life, a half life multiplayer, and a couple of other modes while staying in the client. Every time i see cs_backalley it reminds me of the candy vending machine, you could break it's window and hide slightly inside it as Guerilla Warfare with a knife pulled and blend in pretty well from anyone not paying attention...probably about 15% success ratio but it was worth it for the laughs

Also because its heavy the felt recoil isnt all that bad compared to battle rifles that shot the same cartridge such as the m14

On some old CS maps there were emplaced machineguns on tripods. I thought this video was about them, lol.
in CS GO it was supposed to be another cut weapon. and that's FN scar MK 17. and yea u can see it in the game logo
Somehow those guns went came back from the other game versions, Xtreme, Nexon and Online.
There's also the Scar-17 from CS:GO Beta that was cut. You can find videos and even get the beta version online of csgo and play with it. The scar 17 was later replaced with the M4A4.
the m4a4 was available along side of the scar17. the scar17 was supposed to fill the role of m4a1s but they ended up simply adding it instead.

I played that version in my friend's computer a long time ago.

That sounds like an unofficial version (a mod or a completely different game such as crossfire or counter strike online maybe)

There was map based on D-Day event in Normandy and you would spawn in pillbox (bunker) and you could use machine gun to shoot on beach
You forget the Browning H2, the .30cal, the TOW, the LAV-25 Turret, M1A1 Abrams Turret and other nice stuff what are in many maps of the CS 1.5.
Never heard about the LAV25. On what map is it in?
@@Nonebit I don't remember the name, but it was some desert hostage map, where you can jump in a LAV- 25 and you can shoot it's cannon, even rotate the turret. Same as the Abrams. The LAV was on a spot where ct-s could easily escape with hostages. The Abrams was on a city map, and easily reach by ct-s to camp a spot where t-s could reach plant A easily. The Machine guns was on a few maps and mostly on t side against ct-s.

I have good memories with tactical shield.
When I was little I wandered around CS's server browsers and found one in particular. It was filled with russian bots / cheaters (or at least my 10years old brain thought that way), they could wall bang me every time there was a bangable wall, anyway...
I found there is a shield option in buy menu and it helped me!
I no longer was killed by things I see and don't see every time I leave spawn room! I could actually play the damn game!
And on another note, in two weeks playing on this server I become better at the game than my friend who played for months who challenged me to a duel with a thought of easy win ;)
M4A1 wasnt meant to be in cs:go but ppl hate The replacement so much it was re-added later...
Fun fact the SIG SG553 in CSGO is actually the SIG SG556 Export model for the US.
The real world SIG SG553 is an updated SG552 Commando which also looks identitcal to the SG552.
I prefered the SIG SG552 Commando for its unique look and love of Swiss rifles.
For the weapons that you noted that were renamed or slightly altercated, I believe that you're mistaken that all the weapons today are pretty much the same as the ones in the older games. However I disagree with some, rather some of the older weapons were "completely replaced" by CS:GO guns.
The Leone Gauge Super's actual name is the M3 which was replaced by the Nova.
The Schmidt Machine Pistol's actual name is the Tactical Machine Pistol (TMP) which is replaced by the MP9
The Kreig 552 is just the SG 552 which is replaced by its younger variant SG 553
The Schmidt Scout was completely replaced by the SSG08.
The Kreig 550 Commando is just the SG 550 replaced by the SCAR-20

the shield galil and famas were introduced in cs 1.6 when steam was released.

1:07 you might want to give a try on CSO/CS Nexon Zombie/CS Nexon Studio, the M60 was rebuild in that game (has many modified variants also: Gold M60, Balrog 7, M60 Maverick,...). CSO is one of the CS games still keeps the most basically things of the legendary fps game. Zombie modes is also fun

Can you do a video about counter strike 1.5 modes? I remember being able to switch to ricochet, half life, a half life multiplayer, and a couple of other modes while staying in the client. These memories are dear to me, but I cant seem to remember their names, hence I'm asking for help in remembering them.

Every time i see cs_backalley it reminds me of the candy vending machine, you could break it's window and hide slightly inside it as Guerilla Warfare with a knife pulled and blend in pretty well from anyone not paying attention...probably about 15% success ratio but it was worth it for the laughs
