Just recently started running half life 2 and my best time so far is 3 hours and 54 minutes, I hope to learn all the tricks consistently and get better times each time Love seeing people run half life 2 on GDQ.
What an awesome run from both guys :D. It was really neat to see the slight differences in strats they used throughout the run with placement or setups etc.
eold was ahead for basically the entire run, with how dense this game is in tech explaining something twice unless it was missed would be a waste of time, i think it was just commentated as things came up, also there were few situations where you could say like "dirtch is pulling ahead with eold messing this up" since dirtch was at such a time deficit from the start
@@Troubled_waters Yeah he got unlucky a 2nd time with the skip putting him in the void, so just decided to load a save presumably to make the gap a little closer and make it more interesting so it wasn't just a huge lead almost the entire rest of the run. I legit cried out when he got void warped a 2nd time. EDIT: this was written before I actually heard him say it himself lol
That happens in races where one person is very far ahead. You have to keep explaining the new tricks, so there's no easy way to commentate the one that is far behind. That's not ajab at Dirch, it's just the nature of a game that has tough tricks that can lose alot of time when you're racing.
Thanks for the opportunity!
unlucky with the rld skip but great job!
Was fun let's do it again sometime!

Haha same.
Saw this live, but fell asleep since it played really late for my timezone, so I had to rewatch the VOD. What a great run
This was very difficult to follow but man was it fun! ❤
And I loved Eold's custom chapter title cards, and Dirtch's saucepan crowbar 😆

Very Cool
one day someone was like ''you know what would be fun, if we played half-life 2 like it was a sonic game''....
I learned a lot about the beefis engine
did they met the incentive for Hatsune-Sama ?
no :(
6000+$/20000$, so, no
so, old engine is Source 2004 and new engine is Source 2007/Orange Box?
Strange that couch was basically not commentating Dirtch.
Well Dirtch loaded a practice save to skip a trick he couldn’t pull off- I think that made him less exciting to watch/commentate on
