"What in the Deadbeat Sea Daddy?!" 😂😂😂😂😂
*THIS!!!*
I feel Rhaenyra summoning Vernithor was her best scene this season next to her fight with Daemon
Her crying over her son, that SLAP and this. Waste of a great actress
@@tigerlilly9038 That SLAP though 😱
Girl I thought Alicent was going to unalive herself when she was walking towards the water🫣🫣🫣
She was just bathing.
I thought that too!!
I thought she was gonna get nekkie🙃🙃
Apparently, that's what we were meant to get from that scene. They talked about it in an interview or something.
Same!
Sea smoke be like that stray dog that found a guy that didnt know he liked dogs
Heheheheee!
Daemon been HGTV and Fix My Life all season smh 🤦🏾♀️
🤣🤣🤣🤣For real.
I just want to put it out there that when Sharronda says you guys are bullying her into doing this, she does not mean me because I don't watch House of the Dragon.
😂
😂😂😂
What? They showed five dragons throughout the whole episode. This episode was fire!
we complained about GoT final season being rushed so they taking it slowwwww with Daemon's character development this season 😩
The pacing is bad in house of the dragon. Game of thrones early seasons weren’t slow because even though there wasn’t many battles but the plot and characters continue to advance. HOTD literally have pointless scenes like Alicent in the lake and going camping.
@@dom9041543the reason for that was the books, like GOT had pov chapters and the book would cover a couple months in the timeline but HOTD has one book that covers 150 years + no POV chapters
✋🏾...I didn't complain lol. It was what it was...lol
@@dom9041543thank you cause i’ve been saying this, the scene of allicent was imo fine cause it was subtle character development but it didn’t need to be that long of the scene. like no hate to her but rn allicent is inconsequential because she has not job or power so she lowkey just in the background now
@@taliyahhh1738 even the Damon stuff lowkey went on too long. It should’ve been condensed and still got the point across.
I liked it lol. That dragon was tearing them people up
Vhagar and Silverwing are females; Vermithor is male. Silverwing is the "friendliest" dragon; her mate Vermithor is the fiercest; Vhagar is the strongest.
"Silverwing is the "friendliest" dragon" 🤣😂🤣 Rhaenyra should have introduced her first to the low borns because Vermithor was like " Ohhhh, time for a barbeque cook out, appreciate that Queen Rhaenyra" 😂😂
Vhagar is the biggest too!
I liked the dragon claiming, but not alicent literally walking around in a forest, this season still slow, i saw a comparison that said season one covered 70+ pages of events in the book and season two 20 pages so far ( by youtuber alt shift x) AND IT FEELS LIKE IT
I think Jaces argument is valid
The new bastards dont have family ties or honor
Its extremely risky
What if they wake up and they are like we have bigger dragons
Jace we are not bowing to you
He is right. Season one was so rushed that most people didnt get that Hugh was Saera's son and King Jahaerys grandson.
If Jahaerys can be the heir to throne, so can Hugh.
Therefore making Jace's argument valid.
But it was his idea.
@@barstrohe only wanted highborn targaryens, not lowborn bastards.
As if "family honor" means a darn thing...please. Screwing, backstabbing and plotting? *FAMILY HONOR WHERE?* You mean ego, lol.
I don't think is right to call anyone a mugler or whatever he said when you are to be King of the Seven Kingdoms
Episode 2 is still my favorite of this season thus far...Otto was MAGNIFICENT. I can watch him roast Aegon for days
It was the best!
1:13 no reason we couldn’t have had TEN EPISODES
But honestly love that Crispy wasn’t in this episode
The way you held back on that one dude who approached Vermithor 😂😂😂
Y’all don’t understand the point of the show. The slow parts is what makes the big parts so much more cooler. There’s a thing called “plot building”
They cut from a character too fast. Got would break it up into like 10-20 min for each character the episode was about and I think that made it feel like it was moving more than it actually was. It was like mini stories within bigger stories. This direction is a little awkward in how it’ll cut in a scene when more can probably be shown and stay with that character for a little longer instead of these 3-4 minute back and forth. But since it’s not based on an actual book I guess they aren’t really pulling from chapters to go off of.
Also, IWTV was so riveting HOTG seems like cozy cottage core in comparison.
I agree with Sharonda that the pacing has been too slow the 2nd half of the season. And now we have only one episode left. The whole Dameon storyline seems like such a waste.
No patience... Did you see GOT... Everything is a set up for something else. I honestly think some people need to watch John wick or they may become disinterested
Agreed 👊🏾…. So annoyed this season with Daemon at Harren Hall going crazy having illusions.
If you haven't seen Presumed Innocent- That was a surprisingly good series and it is only 1 season with 8 episodes, i enjoyed it a lot more than HOTD
I think the pacing is no different from GOT seasons 1-6. People who were new to GOT was able to watch the whole series within weeks and never had to wait ever year for a new season and is not used to the ACTUAL pacing waiting. There can’t be a battle every episode just like in GOT there wasn’t. A lot has happened this episode/ season and as someone who has been a fan for YEARS I loved every moment. It’s odd when ppl say “This season is slow nothing is happening” but then list all the epic moments in each episode… not being mean I just find it odd.
To be expected this show won’t be fully appreciated until it’s completely done and has all the seasons because we live in a microwave society and is used to watching entire series in one sitting.
I agree with the complaint about the overall pacing... It's going to be more noticeable if the last episode is underwhelming. Perhaps the first season should've been longer.
Pacing 😅😅😅 this show has a 4-5 year arch an the story itself is a war between family. It's not a war about total destruction it's about control of land an kingdom. Rule over Ashes sheesh read the room
@@user-sh1do4sp8e What does that have to do with my comment. It's openly known that the first season covered however many chapters or pages of whatever book they drew from (pardon me, I've never read the books)... and this second season is only based on a couple of pages... That is likely the cause of the noticeable change in pace, and the use of filler i.e. Daemon at Harrenhall for the better part of the season... You're trying to sound more intelligent than you actually are... There are reasons this season has eight episodes instead of ten...
The show-runners are attempting to balance between limited material, and limited budget, and it shows in the quality of the story.
@@LastActionNgro They ALL have 8 episodes. They covered more years in the first season so obviously you wrote all that to tell me that your not paying attention. How could they be at the same pace
@@user-sh1do4sp8e .... so they had more material to work with in the first season than they did with this one... *just like I said in my second post.* You're just arguing for the sake of arguing...
@@user-sh1do4sp8eseason 1 has 10 episodes...
What a treat after devouring the episode up and this review lolll
No friend this was their best episode. Every scene was good, not boring lol
I think you may have ADHD or enjoy Tyler Perry movies. Quality production create character development that allows tragic scenes to become more emotional. This show will be on for 4-5 years. That an the fact that it's a war between family for crown... Read the room for min you'd know that nobody is ruling over ashes an there aren't that many players in story. It's nothin like GOT cause it's a smaller story an as you may see if you still watch a much more sad story. Hence the character development. Build you up to break your heart.
You are the reason I call that man sir Crispy now lmfao
This show has all sorts of issues: too much stuff happens offscreen, they make adaptation changes just for the cool factor that makes no sense, the pacing is all over the place, some of the character beats feel a little off (we misseded a beat or two between the sweet kid Aemond was in the fiest season and what he is now), Daemon's adventures in Harrenhall were way too long, and we had too many "red shirts" for the sowing which reduced its impact.
But I AM happy they're doing some more interesting things with Rhaenyra as a character by showing her getting high off her own supply of power, and that conversation between her and Jace was surprisingly thoughtful. But this show knows the dragons have the magical power to short circuit our critical faculties and make us forget, or not even see the show's flaws, so they're skillfully employed when needed, like the nuclear weapons they are.
When was Aemond a sweet kid I remember him calling the Strong boys bastards stealing a dragon and killing Rhaynera son.
@@lawandabrown3472 before he lost his eye he was portrayed as a largely decent kid, who was bullied by the Strongs. Once he loses his eye and the show time jumps, he becomes this quiet, menacing figure. The show needed to do a little more to show that progression, for me.
But see the pacing was what people complained about in season 1…everyone was saying that we were plowing through the source material too fast and that we weren’t spending enough time with the characters. Now, season 2 they give us the slower pacing and people still aren’t happy…
I agree. This season took a long time to build for moments that matter, but Season 1 had some amazing story arcs and it had to establish a lot so why can’t we be entertained a little more this season? The twins fighting was my favorite part
I’m assuming you didn’t watch GoT live bc this was the same pacing with one big set piece per season. Folks don’t realize how costly this show is…all good, I’ve always dug great characters and dialog.
Nope disagree. (If I understand your statement correctly) 1st seasons we were in Winterfell, kings landing, the north and the Reach?...and Vaes Dothrak too right? And Pentos. *we were OUTSIDE & EVERYWHERE*
Expensive yes...but the budget rivaled the "Rome" budget..which I think might have been the budget buster from back in the day..
Sha-Sha you forgot to talk about how rhaenera son chin checked her about giving the bastards dragons because she made them equal to him. I was like wait a minute… he on to something! He was like what’s to stop them from claiming the thrown when you die.
The Adam part was intriguing, I'm glad that was elaborated upon, he spoke his rise into existence, he was chosen, he didn't choose the dragon, I think Corlys will come around as far as Alan and Adam, I think he's supposed to legitimize them; Don't forget we probably have to wait 2 years for S3, and Vhagar is a big, ginormous mega she-dragon.
I definitely agree. I had to come to terms in season 1 that this is not season 1 GoT energy and that was hard. But people seem to be really distracted by the dragons. Dragons are dope BUT the dialogue, the characters and convenient story beats are sometimes a bit too simple or just uninteresting.
Love your reviews. So Alyn shaves his head because his hair is white like his father (Corlys), but Adam doesn’t have to because he got his black hair from his mother. Love how they gave that clue in this episode.
I agree with you! After waiting two years for this season, I expected at least 6 out of 8 episodes to hit. So far there’s been about 2. 😒
I agree that the build up has been slow. But the writing and acting is so good that I’ve enjoyed those episodes as well. Hopefully the VFX budget will be fully restored next season to get the action back on track. I really enjoy and look forward to your weekly recaps!
The fact that I watched all three of your recaps while still struggling past the first ten minutes of episode seven is crazy! I whole heartedly agree: stop dragging this, HBO! Get Daemon out of Wonderland, gather the seedlings and let' get this dance of the dragons going.
Same, Sis! While I do appreciate the dragons, this season was already short, & after waiting 2 YEARS for this, it just hasn't been worth the wait! I really feel they missed the mark in do many ways this season. ALSO, I HOPE THEY NEVER GO BACK TO HARRENHAL FOR THE REST OF THE SHOW!!!
I liked this ep, but this season should have been 10 eps. ep 4 battle should have been ep 3, this ep should have been ep 6, the season finale battle should have been ep 7, ep 8 & 9 breather/ build up, ep 10 another huge battle(trying not to spoil the story). Still a good season with great writing & great actors.
This show has been wasting my time! A second after I said "I swear I will fast forward if Daemon has another dream!!!" It happened! And I went for a bathroom break, didn't hit pause or nothing🤦🏾♀️
I definitely feel ya on that point! 😂😂😂
You should go back to watching Tyler Perry movies an John Wick... Character development is what makes the story what it is. Plus it's a story about a family fued over power... They won't rule ashes so the action you crave won't be there in mass but trust tragedy is coming. But if you miss the development it won't hit right when it does. You won't overstand it
@@user-sh1do4sp8e you shouldn't have assumed that I watch Tyler Perry movies. I'm entitled to voice my opinion on content that I pay to watch. So, move along.
@@nicoleCNC Who said anything about giving an opinion. That's all any of this really is so what are you really saying. Character development means very little
This episode was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the final scene was AMAZING!!!!!!
I really loved this episode!
Alyn does try to claim a dragon. But not being able to locate Grey Ghost he went and found sheep stealer who almost didn’t let him live. He set his cloak on fire and Adam and seasmoke rescued him😅
I agree with you about the pacing. It's very obvious that they only shot enough material for 6 episodes and are dragging this out. I fear they're going to stretch this out to 4 or more seasons when the story could've been wrapped up in 3 10-episode seasons. They could've had The Sowing last episode.
a youtube who’s read the books has compared how season 1 covered 70 pages of content while season 2 only covered 20 which i believe HEAVILY reflects in the pacing
I liked Lord Oscar's scene. If Lord Groover has been sick and can't speak that could imply that Oscar has been running things in the back ground. He ain't brand new, just young. If Daemond started off with him better he may not have had "to learn today" about Lord Oscar😂
I think the pacing and some awkwardness were due to the strikes, so I'm giving them some grace. They still managed to give us compelling content with amazing performances.
Oscar Tully stood on business frfr! My favorite part of the episode although I am tired of Harrenhal.
It would appear that this Dance of the Dragons is only 2 years long. Things do need to move faster. Next season should be the last.
Hold it, sis😂! Now, I agree that I cannot do anymore of Daemon's "Come to Jesus" subconscious dreams. However, we know that dreams and visions in the GOT universe ALWAYS foreshadow things to come. You're focusing on a segment and not the big picture - this is the Battle of the Bastards part 2, and because of Daemon and Aemond its about to get real in the Battlefield for Rhaenyra and Alicent. So, pump your brakes and give the production team some grace. ❤
The sea snake on Kirk timing! Rashee- Rhaenyres said just send the funds ain’t no relationship with your bastards!
Thanks for your opinion Sharronda! I agree, a lot of build up for what? I do love the small scenes with the small folk. Seeing how to network communicates across villages. Those scenes I can keep. My favorite scene was when Reanera (sp) walked up to that huge dragon for the seeding match & that last scene with all of those dragons. Deamon(sp) in that accursed place is over. So done with it. Although that child king chewing out Deamon was the best! “Do you need my swords, or what?!” Take care, Anna.
You have given me life. I love your translation of this information.
❤️❤️❤️ your Commentaries Sharonda, they are Informative and Hilarious. The Dragstone/Atlanta comparison is 😂😂😂Thanks, you Always Make My Day💁🏽
Oh you ain’t playing sis
Daemon is turning into Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra is turning into Daemon!!
I think there are too many battles to cover in two seasons without the show turning into whose dying this week
I think they need to have more engaging character stories for the stories in between
It’s clear they got a green light for more seasons after season one’s success.
They had already stablished they needed more dragon riders but they didn’t get to that until halfway through season two. I hope if they change the pacing if they mean to do 2 more seasons.
I liked this episode, but have to agree that the last 3 episodes did feel slow. Not sure how they could have sped it up, but it was a bit of waiting around for stuff to happen. I did like the young Tully putting Daemon in his place though!
Dragon Stone is Atlanta 🤣🤣🤣
I have to disagree, I think while the show couldve been much tigher, there we ALOT of pay offs, and the VFX were more cinematic than most big budget movies. Peak television
I always enjoy your commentary. I can’t believe people are saying anything negative. Continue not to pay them no mind. At the end of the day this is yours!
A lot of stuff is happening but some stuff is foreshadowing so it mighf make sense later
The Harrenhal stuff is important but boringly executed , Lord Oscar Tully was great this week though lol
She went to white worm first not the council😂
I almost feel like Rhaenyra was watching those ppl die and wondering, is that how Luke went out? Some late ptsd reaction flaring up
The best thing about this season is your reviews. Honestly, we waited two years for this!
This was my favorite episode out of both HOTD & GOT. I’m glad k with the pacing as this is a drama and not really an action show but I definitely understand your perspective because dragons are awesome and it’s amazing to see them in action.
3 vids 1 day
I agree nothing much has happened. But at least we didn’t have to see Crunchy Crispy this time.
In defense of HOTD. The book fire and blood really has about around 80 pages of what occur during the Targaryen civil war. So I understood why the had to stretch this season out if they planning on making this series 3 or maybe 4 seasons. I can see it being just 4 seasons. But I do agreed that the Harrenhall story line was too much and they could have done more with Daemon. Overall, this season wasn't as good as the first season but I still enjoyed key moments in the series like Rook's Rest, Son 4 a Son, and Vermithor cook out brunch special lol. But if this season ends without seeing Otto Hightower again, then when got issues. I'm team black all day but Otto earlier in the season was cooking until he got fired again lol.
I hate how HBO just milk series out to just get more viewers. They did it with game of Thrones also.
To be fair, Game of Thrones started off pretty slow in it's first couple of seasons. I just thought since this series was going to be shorter that they would have been more happening by now
It's so funny that after two seasons, she would've cried about how rushed it was 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I do agree that ep 4 was the highlight of the season… but I feel next week’s episode will hit different.
I Agree with this! I’ve been bored with this season. The episode just didn’t make up for the lack luster prior to. *deep sigh*
The decision to get four seasons is an absolute POOR DECISION. *I SHOUTED THIS BEFORE IT STARTED FILMING, LOL* (now my people like "yeah I see it now" 😮) This GOT installation should last no more than 2 long seasons. DAS IT. *THIS IS WHY I LIKE HOW THE UK TV ROLLS.* 2 seasons are solid and we out.
You're finally back!
Season 2 was definitely an intro season. Sucks but I guess they trying to make the story last longer. Like adding water to make it stretch.
I agree 100% with you, I feel let down with HOTD even from season 1
HOTD NEEDS Miguel Sapochnik BACK!!! Let him make his wife a producer or whatever.... just bring him back.
I agree sharonda. This episode didn’t do much for me. I expected way more for an episode 7
Pacing has been slow but loved this episode.
This the breakdown I didn't know I needed!!! Bravo you did that 😂😂😂 New follower
Love your review. First time watching your channel.
I agree wholeheartedly. This week's episode was better than the past couple, but still not great. Young Lord Oscar is a G. He may be my favorite character now. 😁. You had me on the floor with, "minding my Black bastard business"! 😂🤣😂. I loved season 1 of HotD, but season 2 has been underwhelming. It's waaay too slow, waaay too much setup, and way too many plot threads that no one cares about - like Daemon and his visions. They need to get Miguel Sapochnik back as Co-Showrunner and Lead Director for season 3 at all costs!
The problem is that it's not entertaining. if this was Game of Thrones even less would have happened but because they made us care about characters it made it entertaining Tyrion will say something hilarious but also super smart cercie would have said something devious that was kind of smart The daddy would have said something smart and devious but also putting somebody in their place. I don't know the dragon seeds from the books but I assume one is funny they should have had him saying funny stuff throughout this whole season to make us like him and balance out the show a bit
I miss Otto 😓
Right! Scenes to cut… Alicent’s camping trip, Daemon’s illusions. Shorten the Oscar scene. Why sure Rhaena if she wasn’t going to find the dragon this episode!
Oscar scene was needed! He cleared Daemon
I absolutely loved this episode, but I agree, this show should be 2 seasons, maybe 3. That part in the book was not that long and there was so much action that I assumed that season 2 would be LITTTT. I think budget plays a part, but still. It's been a disappointing season as a whole for me. Much of that has to do with the dialogue. I don't mind lots of talking and good political intrigue, but the script has to be well written. There was little action in S1 and it was fantastic. And the early seasons of GoT were incredible. I think they made a mistake putting so much focus on Rhaenyra vs Alicent when it should be Rhaenyra and the younger generation vs Aegon. Also, Alicent and Rhaenyra are sooo much more interesting in the book.
I'm still enjoying the season, but it's definitely a downgrade from S1.
I really liked the episode. I could have done without Alicent this episode. And yes the Daemon stuff is a little slow but I think it will pay off in the finale. He's likely going to go ahead and bend the knee to his Queen wife like he should have in the 1st place 🤷🏾♀️ and bring the army to fight for her. The greens can't win!
You should not be bullied for your opinion. Everyone has one and I enjoy yours and other You Tubers that review HoD. I am over Alicent and Daemon. Periodt! This could easily be a limited series, but money rules over everything.
I 💯 agree with you Sharonda this season has been ridiculously slow, poor pacing but with some cool dragon moments. Your reviews of these episodes make it so much more entertaining love it!!!!
I stand with you and this review Sharronda! And my boy Daemon need to be YEETED from Harrenhal. This season is worse, but enjoyable
They are dragging it out for more seasons I can't see this going passed 4 seasons the dance of dragons doesn't take long to come to an end
Right! How are they gonna wrap this up in 1 episode ???
I enjoyed the episode, and the season so far. I think there's way more plot this season than action so some people won't like that which is totally fair! I am tired of them visions though! Lol
Girl you crazy!🤣 i know you wanted to say something about that dudes eyes and face!🤣🤣🤣
RIP Silver Denys.🙏
Oops, my bad. That actor was not wearing any makeup. My sincere apologies.🙏😔
There's so many riverlands characters they should have develped instead of the visions.
Benjicot Blackwood and Black Aly
Sabitha Frey
Now I think they are all going to be cut.
Love this review! Funny and on point! Daemon is on my last nerve. He needs to get back home.
It's ok, you can go back to reviewing Friends episodes. Enjoy the story movements between Robb and Rachel or whatever their names are.
The real life ATL-life breakdown is EVERYTHING ❤
