I'm OPtimistic about OPtimism, and good thing Mode network is built on the OP Stack, and this automatically gives the users high advantage , its easily upgradable, EVM compatible , built for growth etc. Very suitable for devs too.

How does retroactive grant funding work when the people building the project are seeking the grant typically because they need initial funding to build their project?
No grant no project for many of these ambitious projects right?
As of right now, if a project needs $$ up front they have to get funding from other sources to get started.
But the idea is that as the rounds of RPGF get bigger, investors will help fund these public goods in return for a portion of the RPGF earned, just like venture capital works today with startups. The difference is that these public goods don't have to find a way to extract money from their users!

Interesting idea but how is "impact" measured so that it's appropriately rewarded after the fact? What prevents the vote or decision mechanism from being corrupted? Event without corruption isn't "impact" subjective?
Very curious to see how this will be practically implemented. But I don't think this is very different to capitalism / free markets. In fact capitalism seems to do exactly that: rewarding impact, or rather "efficient" allocation of resources based on price signals.
Yeah that is one of the difficult parts but there is a plan. They are creating a governance system with two bodies, one of which is the "citizens house". Over time, a number of active optimism contributors and users become citizens. It is them who vote on how the RPGF is distributed.
And I totally agree, the beauty of their RPGF system is that they are bringing the economic incentives of capitalism to public goods!
On coinbase it says the mcap is $290 million. Is that right? If so I'm getting TRIAS vibes, except OP might be able to deliver on their wild vision
Yes this is a difference between the circulating supply vs total supply. Circulating supply is that smaller number but over time the OP foundation will distribute more tokens. I also think it's likely that we will see another airdrop coming pretty soon.
