    The TEN POUNDS OF GOLD series and LUCHA UNDERGROUND are what saved and renewed my 35+ year love of wrestling. I even really liked TNA when Billy was in creative.
    It’s crazy that the guy behind my favorite 90s band is also the guy behind one of my favorite current pro wrestling promotions. And just for the record, I was always an NWA guy, I grew up in Houston, so WCCW, HOUSTON WRESTLING, and other NWA territories were what I grew up on and loved, even when “New York” expanded, I was an NWA hold out.
    I’m really glad that Billy is keeping up the legacy of the NWA, and providing the “boys (and girls)” another place to shine and earn a living.

    Billy Corgan has proven one thing with the NWA. He knows how to put on an excellent wrestling product. He has put on, one hell of a wrestling product indeed. I feel like getting a deal with some rights or production costs would alleviate that. I think Billy intentionally runs lean and mean by necessity because he doesn’t have a bottomless pile of cash like his competitors in WWE and AEW. Anthem doesn’t have the pile those do either but it’s hard to truly know since their info isn’t public. But one would think they have pretty strong access to liquid funds when seeing that they acquired the network they’re on which includes Mark Cuban and Steve Harvey as investors. And they have a head of a credit firm on their board, which firm has providing their financing to acquire AXS and HDNet. I think in that context it makes sense why it is the way it is now and why I think it would be reasonable that some of those things could change were Billy given funds to allocate to those things. What was always maddening was how poor of production ROH always had even when they were purchased by Sinclair because in theory the money to improve production was actually there but never provided and/or used.

      You do not get it do you? So making jokes about starving kids in Ethiopia is cool? You would not like someone to make jokes about you & your kids if you could not provide for them, would you? Not only can it be seen as racist but also very ignorant. Why? Because Fried Chicken is NOT apart of Ethiopian people's diet & cuisines, that is part of the black American diet. So that alone can made it look racist, because it is like saying that all black people eat, dress & live life the same way across the world. I saw you on the Brad Lea tv channel. I am going to answer your question about wrestling being fake. Then you said it's like watching a movie. Ok this is where you are really wrong. When you watch a movie, it's not live. So therefore the actors or actresses portraying said characters are done really well. You can take anyone of any age to preform any sort of feat. Wrestling you can not do that. They have limitations.
    I'll give you a couple of examples here. Ok so take Black Widow in Iron Man 2. So the fight scene where she takes down 20 men. It looks really impressive & believable. Gal Gadot who plays Wonder Woman she's just taking Men down with ease. She took down doomsday in the Batman vs Superman movie. So a guy that is as huge as a Brock Lesnar.
    WWE wrestling, I've never seen Ronda Rousey beating Brock Lesnar & win clean. I never see that. Why? It's scripted, you said it's exactly like movies yet they won't do that for whatever reason.
    Then I believe you said, when you watch a wrestling match you don't know who's going to win or lose. You said that with a straight face. Are you kidding? You are the no 1 wrestling fan I would say or a huge one because you interview wrestlers & that. It's 80-90 % predictable. You know who's going to win, you know who they push as top guys, what's not to know?
    Wrestling has a lot of limitations. Not everyone can wrestle like a Sammy Guevera doing 450 splashes, Richochet or a guy like Kenny Omega pulling awesome moves. Name recognition that's who mainly wins in AEW. By that I mean ex wwe talent. Plus it's on for like 5 + hours a week or more. On every weeks with pay per views every month. That's a major problem in wrestling.
    Movies are done way better because they don't have limitations like wrestling.

    I feel like billy means well but a little delusional. When your champions are former wwe jobbers and then you have tyrus that can barely walk but he’s a major nwa champion because he’s on Fox News and can promote the show for billy, that’s just dumb imo. Plus running shows with 20 people in the crowd is a real bad look. He should realize not all his ideas are good, ego is a hell of a drug.

      I don't know about that. Billy started the interview by saying that his goal is to lay the groundwork for a new NWA. A groundwork that will allow the NWA to be successful in the future. He seems pretty real about how hard it is to start a new wrestling promotion.

      Dude, you already know that it's not fair to call Cardona a jobber.
      Everyone knew that he got punished heavily in WWE because he had IT. But Vince didn't want it. He was booked purposely to not be able to get over again. How is that a traditional jobber?

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv 2 года назад

      Who could he reasonably have as his champions that would please you? He doesn’t have a budget to exclusively sign major names. So his choice is to have some former WWE guys be at that mantle, and maybe lapsed WWE fans give the show a chance to see what that guy is up to now, or he can throw an unknown in that spot. And if he did that then you’d likely say he’s delusional because nobody has a clue who his major champions are. He’s damned no matter what he does. Even when companies do sign big WWE names it isn’t good enough. Look at TNA back in the days where they seemed to sign every WWE guy. Or look at AEW now. What is the realistic choice? Any guy at the top level in WWE comes at a price he can’t afford. His only chance with WWE guys are people like a Cardona who weren’t used in a way to be top guys in WWE. And if your standard is as you’ve laid it out nothing he can do will ever be the right move.

      Nothing wrong with being an indie promotion.
      Wwe is a big brand. But it doesn't justify their ridiculous, garbage, juvenile content.
      I'd rather watch a small indie pro wrestling event, than a ridiculous, LED screen-filled, wwe sports entertainment show.
