Hi Jennifer! I thought I was 4 for the longest time, but also related strongly to the core longing of the 2. You may be a self preservation subtype 2 like I am aka 2 (sp). Hilary just posted that video and said it is the counter type of the 2 and resembles the 4. Hope that helps!
Hey Jennifer! I was also confused about the same thing! Both being in the heart triad they have very similar core issues, the difference is how they go about it; 4s tend to want to be saved from their feelings and 2s tend to fixate on saving others.

So interesting I took the Enneagram tests a few times in the course of 3-4 years. First it was a 5w4, then an 8w9, and present day is a 2w1. The present test I took seems to resonate the most with me. I am definitely all about love, compassion, kindness and helping others. Maybe sometimes in the past not discerning enough who I give that too. I always felt the past tests were way off. Maybe it was the questions or maybe I just evolved thru time😊. I found each test to be very different. Anyway, thank you for the information. I always find this subject fascinating. 👍❤️

My 1 wing is more dominant naturally but I have strong desires to be more 3-like I just need to strengthen those traits. Honestly, I almost felt like I am cursed when I read I am 98% type 2 and 95% type 4 because 2 is just tragic and 4 likes tragedy. 2 feels unloved, 4 feels depression and such things. On top of it, I am an INFP, more emotions and feelings of not being loved. Plus, I have a Venus conjunction to Sun in my 7th Capricorn house and Neptune Uranus in my 8th and that's mysticism and death and all that stuff and type 4 is so visible out there. Uff! But one thing I got for sure is that I am meant to help people in this life. I was born to be an artist and nothing can change it. Perhaps why people always said I had a talent in writing wayyyyyy back when I just started scribbling things. Now I write poems on Instagram. The community is small but any person who has read it has always said that I write better than most famous Insta poets. And I do believe the same.

Happy New year. T'is I, the writer of that doll. I've still been wrestling with where said character fits in on the enneagram. The more I looked into it, she sounds A LOT more like a 2w3 than a 4. Again, she's pretty vocal about her needs, but everything else fits her to a T. Her core fear IS being worthless. She usually combats this by putting on a super sunny demeanor, agonizing about her appearance and going out of her way to either help or entertain those around her. Just like a good doll should. She's terrified if people see what a pathetic, mediocre emotional wreck she's become they'll pass her up for a more impressive version of her. It makes sense that she moves towards a 4 in health, but the core fear of a 4 just didn't line up. You're the expert on this system, what do you think?
Then again, just returned from some of your mistype videos, she could be a 3w2. The two is definitely in there. She's pretty ambitious and achievement focused. She's afraid of being a failure. Remember, she's essentially a Barbie and Barbie's a jack of all trades. She likes to help people, but it's not so much about their needs.Deep down she's HEAVILY focused on her image. Living up to this impossibly perfect expectation of what a doll like her should be. Idk. It's a tie between those two.
Can a type 2 depend on both wings at different times? I relate to both 2w1 and 2w3 a lot but kinda feel like I act like both, it just depends on the situation.

I am a 2, 98%. I was leaning towards the 2w1 as you were describing because I am in alternative medicine, practice massage therapy, and am going to medical school. But then when you began talking about 2w3, I started thinking maybe I was that because I’m extremely outgoing, I host a women’s group in my home, and I’m involved with any program my church holds. So can I equally be a wing 1 and a wing 3?!
You usually are dominant in in one wing but definitely can use the other when you need it. They are like salt and pepper to your Main Type. Hope this helps! ❤️

You might be a 6, 6s often mistype as 2s and 4s.
Remember that 4 is a 2s growth arrow. When you are at your best you exhibit 4 qualities.
