Fresh out of high school, my 3rd place of employment, Mitchell Engineering, we made steel buildings, every piece and part. I moved around a lot, did a lot if different jobs, one being in shipping. They had a small semi, I forget the common name for them, but I'd pull out the loaded flatbed trailer, take it out to the lot, back it into place, drop it, hook up to an empty and pull it into the plant. It had a lowered drive that made the trailer level w the floor. We used hoists mounted on ceiling to load the trailer. That was a good learning experience for me. It's nothing now to back a trailer, but I no longer have one. Glad you're having a nice winter. It's just days away from being Spring! Nice video Mike, thanks.👍🚜🙏❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
After watching me struggle backing up a trailer a stranger came over to my door and told me… put your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel and watch only your mirrors. Move the bottom of the steering wheel in the direction you want the trailer to move. Then he smiled and walked away. Been using that method for 50 years and never struggled again. I owe that man a debt of gratitude every time I tie a trailer on my vehicle. I’ve had to back up 3/4 of a mile on a narrow curvy road that dead ended unexpectedly. Repositioned once because I got distracted. Payed that forward many times when I see someone struggling backing up over the years. Both daughters taught their boyfriends how to backup… they might even be better than me.
Yeah the LX made it look easy using the 6' land plain, Great little tractor..You probably just sold a few more LX Kubota tractors for them Mike. Sounds like some fun coming putting in drainage pipe and making your pull off for delivery trucks and the UPS/fedex turnaround parking spot off your driveway. Always improvements or something happening at the Morgan compound and that's good for us too. Thanks Mike another fun video to watch.👍
That land plane really does the job. I still love that Wolf Ridge wood splitter. It works great. We’re all excited about seeing the WV property again. Cool video. 👍❤️

Hi Mike , that plane works good on that little tractor, probably because of the beet juice you put in those rear tires. Pulling that load up the hill really loads those rear tires and they did well. Good call, thanks for all you do.

I think I should have picked up a land plane LOL....seems like from your usage it does much better for driveway maintenance than my box blade. I had my dealer order the 3rd function kit for the loader a couple weeks ago...still waiting on it to show up so I can get that installed. Going to have a friend of mine watch the auctions for a grapple...wish I had known he was going last week....they had 3 grapples still on crates, never used that sold for $400 each...never fails, miss all the good stuff. He said they were small, so I told him I need one around the 150-200 pound range and around 48-50 inches for my BX2680...anything heavier/larger I think would be way too much for it....even the 200lbs is pushing it, I think that's about what my pallet forks/frame weigh, and I've lost a lot of my lift capacity so 200 pounds or less is all that thing will handle by the time you figure on what materials you would be picking up.

It would be great if Eva developed a cross fit training platform around running the trails out, policing rounds into buckets, run back split and stack totes, or wrap bundles, run back out, rinse repeat a every 15 min. Rotate drivers each trip. You don't see fat loggers very often. Cutting logs and let them carry up hills. It would be as hard as she needs it to be.
Hi Mike and all, I kind of figured the big land plane would do good behind the LX, those tractors are just plain awesome. I was wondering when a security fence would show up, lots of crazies out there. Backing up trailers with a single pivot point is pretty easy, when you add a second pivot point like backing up a tractor and trailer behind a heavy duty wrecker it adds a little excitement to the equation. Have a day and I look forward to the next one. Jay from Pa.
I wish I would have gotten a deck over trailer instead of the standard trailer with the fenders...due to what I am using my trailer for, having those axles/fenders sticking out the sides makes loading and unloading stuff more of a pain...having the axles tucked up under the trailer deck is highly recommended if you ever plan on loading/unloading materials from the trailer...if you just use it to haul a car, fine, but I don't plan on ever using my car trailer as a car trailer....so my mistake buying the type that I did...should have thought more about it prior to purchasing the trailer...way too late now though. I'd love to get a 5 or 6 foot by 10 to 12 foot dump trailer at some point as well...the issue I run into is what do I do with the tractor as it would be stuck wherever it was I was working once the trailer was loaded with whatever I was hauling LOL. I think a 12 foot dump trailer would be ideal for my needs...sure a larger one would be nice but that would mean I'd need an even bigger tow vehicle that I'm not interested in getting myself into LOL. I'd rather stay in 1/2 ton territory....my Explorer isn't quite enough to pull a dump trailer, its hardly enough to haul around the car trailer with my tractor and implements....around town its fine, but if I were to need to do something out of town, I wouldn't care to do so using the explorer, its just about borderline at my comfortable capacity....rated at 7200lbs, and I try to stay under 6000lbs with it.
I got a deal on a used 6" box drag last summer. I was concerned it may be too big for my older B7800, but to my surprise it has done great. I even used it to loosen up ground to plant a garden since I don't have a tiller. It did a wonderful job. Keep putting out the great videos.
Mike, I think it would be really cool if you made up a bunch of peel and stick signs for your two blue trucks (I call them Big Blue and Baby Blue 😃) and your tractors/skid loader, kind of like a contractor would do. Good morning Morgan's, no snow down here ! It is however in the mid 50's but should warm up to the low 70's .I noticed that your drive way looked low on stone . Do you have plans to put more stone on it in the near future ?
Have you considered making some sort of arrangement (paid or not) to leave the tractor et al in the WV property area (for a short stay) in order to bring full loads of trees back to PA or are you planning on taking the mill and a splitter to WV?
Haven't decided yet
Nice!!
Damnit man, you just got too many cool tools! I'm glad for you but I'm jealous as hell! Ha ha.
Thanks 👍
Well we got hit with about 10 inches of that white stuff on Thursday night /friday morning (southeast New Brunswick) and I think it was sent up from PA, some discards that you didn't want. 😂 Those Kabota's are little beasts.
Hi Mike N Melissa
Just curious why you dont have quick hitch’s on your tractors they sure make changing implements a lot easier
Always like Desert to see Melissa , Hunter and "Livestock" (puppies) in the By The Way segments of your videos at the end ...
Hello! 🙂
Good morning!
Interesting, the beaver tail deck over trailer would be called dove tail here in Texas.I guess we don't have many beavers around here?
Plenty of beavers in NE Texas.

we're supposed to get another 10 inches or so today 🙄

Mike I really enjoy your videos. What kind of protective coating do you have on your Deckover Trailer. Thanks
I used a Cabot oil based stain, seems to be holding up well
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans Thank You! It sure looks good.
IOWA DAD JOKE,of the day
[Q] What did the jar of mayonnaise say, when the fridge door, was opened?
[A] HEY
When is a door, not a door?
When it is ajar! 😂
Did I somehow miss the episode where they said what that black contraption was parked by the wood shed we had to guess on??
Do you use 4wd pulling rock uphill?
Yes
Pete is a great guy.
Did you get your house painted? I would have sworn it used to be a brown color now it is a shade of yellow.
It appeared to me to actually work better on the smaller tractor. The flow was steady and even, leaving no humps or gullies, as it moved over the path ... I felt it left a smoother and more even finished lane ...But that just might be me .. :)
Your awesome
