The8 had me crying the first time I watched this! I'm still very touched. I don't know why, there's something magical about this dance. It's not only him. It's his dancer, the ligths, the smoek. Like I always say, geniuses are working at PLEDIS.
Finally, been waiting for this reaction. I feel like the8 handle his “creation” and “piece” with extra care. He always excited whenever he talks abt smthn that he created and I feel the similar feeling as him. Other contemporary art vids by the8 are upcoming soon!
He made this to reflect the emotions he was feeling at that time. I think he struggled that time. He said that he wants to watch it in the future and remind him of the emotions he had.

FUN FACTS : The8 direct the whole video, form music, composing, dance, stage, lighting, concept,,,everything lets be honest here...i never see kpop idol doing raw comtemporary like this...this look beuatifull, terrifying, sad, deep, something thats kinda feels contradictive with kpop song in general. i like the8 perspective as an artist,
thank you for the reaction! for the part you said reminded you of da Vinci's vitruvian man, it gave me chills the first time i saw it. I've always interpreted it as looking like a compass that is malfunctioning & i believe the lyric he sings at this part is "flee." its cool to see how many different ways this part could be taken. its also been really interesting to me how someone who comes from a bboying & chinese martial arts background chose to explore contemporary dance. & idk if you know, but he released i believe his first contemporary art video a couple months before this one called "Doodle Diary" (only 2 min long) & its criminally underrated imo 😅 its one of my favorites so pls check that one out too if you have time! thanks for appreciating minghao's art 💎
All members of the performance team in Seventeen are underrated or underappreciated? I mean the whole group can dance so well it's literally impossible 90% of the time for one member to just shine unless you put them in the center. When I found out Jun and The8 are not even main dancers... well that's seventeen for ya

He is ... He is my bias I love this man hes so fluid his musicality and grace is so beautiful
The dance and the song have a lot of inspiration from the story of Icarus and him flying too close to the sun.
