The quick pause in the entry of the hands is really the key to the stroke, because his able to minimize bubble drag so quickly, everything else is as important but without that quick pause at the entry of his hands his times would be much slower.
That’s insane!!! Great vid Coach Mandy. I’m finishing my first 25 meters by the time he’s done with 100 🤣. To my defense… I have to go a longer distance (or at least that’s my excuse 😜).
Great info and breakdown. Short and to the point. I was experimenting with my breath/stroke yesterday. It’s weird this video popped up. I like your video style. I’m definitely subscribing. Thank you!
Not positive, but I think his stroke rate increases in that last 15 meters. I have heard this particular stroke pattern called windmill, which kind of works. Heard another coach call it kayak after the kayak paddle, which may be more accurate. One thing that sets him apart from the others is his start and underwater off the blocks. Just more powerful than any one else. Others come pretty close to him on the flip turn, but I think he still out does them on his underwater dolphin kick.
@@Farmerfrommishmi You are totally correct. Every single Olympic level swimmer does this for the last 10 or so meters, sprinters and distance swimmers.

Good analysis. Now could you do a 400 -800 m analysis?Thanks,
Yes for 100m you gotta kick connected and very fast stroke rate with not pausing for much glide.. also the underwaters help in gaining speed
I missed the underwater analysis
Just watched an analysis of his 50 meter sprint win. His stroke rate in that was 135 strokes/minute.

In his last few metres when he goes full gas, he uses his 50m sprint technique.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
