My memories of Brunei to go back 25 years ago. When I was working as a designer for the company that produced coatings and stone floors of the palace of Sultan. I keep a dear memory of those three months, despite the hard work. I was young and had the good fortune to visit a beautiful place and welcoming, ways of living and uses related to the tradition of "Kampong" the extraordinary jungle of Jerudong Park, the pristine beaches of Muara. A fantastic place.
Brunei is a wonderful country and His Majesty is very kind to everyone. He goes out to shake hands with his people on his birthday every year okay!? #smh
The Sultan of Brunei is rich because of the oil that he and his family is earning their income from. Although he is one of the richest men in the world, this does not mean his people are neglected. The Sultan sets aside funds for the people and his own income to enrich himself. I have been to Brunei and I do not see obvious signs of poverty through the country. The people are rather living in comfortable living standards.
MashaAllah, thanks for your share video to public.. Since everybody still dont know where brunei is.. So this is brunei, Not borneo.. Hehehe.. I love brunei.. Very peaceful.. And have a very kindly sultan ☺️☺️☺️

One thing for sure, if you go to Brunei, you'll always find work !!! There's no shortage of work there .... I used to date a nurse from Brunei when she was in India for her studies .... went their once ... considering that its a monarchy, I'd say its one hell of a developed country ... albeit, a tiny country !!! :)
This is the best ruler in the world and every one in his country loves him because he is so good to his people and making them all live a good life may allah watch over him and hopefully all rulers in the world learn from him how to be good to his people
I am a Bruneian. The Sultan own many cars including CLK GTR(one and only right handed), Rolls Royce, Bentley, Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Diablo and so much more....Sultan also owned 531 Mercedes-Benzes, 367 Ferraris, 362 Bentleys, 185 BMWs, 177 Jaguars, 160 Porsches, 130 Rolls-Royces, and 20 Lamborghinis..Some of the Benz are use for the Government...
It bugs me when people misunderstood our ruler here. Yeah, ofc he lives lavishly but he doesnt just receives, he gives as well. I am truly grateful to be a Bruneian no matter how dull it might be sometimes with limited entertainment & all. I wouldnt trade Brunei with any other. There are just a lot to be thankful for. High standard of living, clean water supply, free education etc. I sometime feel its the people that take all these for granted. I just hope to give something back to my country.
Hi life is what it is, you make do with what you have and what you don't have you strive to make a change within yourself. Life is like a book with every turn of the page you make something new and wonderful happen, what you do make you stronger within, with that you will be able to reseave everything that you desire in life. We all fallow rules, that's the way it is, we make it better for us and our children. The rules are very strict they are ment to be fallowed like the the Holly Bible.
Khilafah/Sultanate system is more practical and make life more quality. No taxes..no interest charge..the only one Ruler share the wealthness to his people..people live in calm and tranquility
what would you do if u have a billion of money in hand?? i think u would do the same. my king is not greeady as what u think. he is very polite and modest. his goverment provide pensions for all us, he spent his money to build housing scheme for all of us, we are given free education, free health care and many more that u cant even think of. proud to be bruneian
You replied to my comment in the context of an ongoing thread. It can be argued my comment addresses a mentality commonly found in developed countries - an astonishing lack of understanding of how your domestic economies are inextricably and symbiotically linked to the world economy. Oil EXport is one of the pillars of the Canadian economy.
@ImmortalDragon public as in for public tourists that want to view the architecture and so on and so forth. its open for muslims who are there to pray.

@kongkolou I Agree on this. Jus look at sabah sarawak and other part of malaysia. They spend all the resources income on Kuala Lumpur. It's so obvious. lol.
Bolkiah's government is accused of arbitrary detention; limits on freedom of speech, press, assembly, and association; restrictions on religious freedom; discrimination against women; restricted labor rights; and exploitation of foreign workers. Brunei has productive oil and gas fields, and it is an open secret that much of the profit from them flows through the pockets of the Sultan and his family. (In fairness, Brunei's citizens enjoy extensive public assistance as few others do.) Also, occasionally substantiated rumors of harems and sex slaves plague the Brunei royal family.
some time ago poor people in indonesia burnt woods and clouds of smoke went to brunei , most likely the sultan had to escape from his palace, in the end even he has to deal with worlds poverty
HeLLO im bruneian, & i just wnna say something referring to the welfare you said, Yes we get centrelink in australia eh but Brunei, Hell no.More likely u gota ask for charity or some sort, or ,like convince the sultan to seek help with financial problem. But if you are lucky & being sympathize,Yes u may maybe get all your 000 debts being paid by him lol so that is an example.Honestly im happier living in AustraliaaLove it here, although families, relatives&cult / traditions, is always great
Was it true that Sultan Bolkiah was born NOT of a Royal blood but a COMMONER.?. There was story abt Putri di Air whom was the 1st wife to Bolkiah Gfather whom 'escaped'/lived in Spore with 4 of her children, whilst Bolkiah Gmother(a commoner) continues living in Bunei. The last son of the Queen last known lived at Dairy Farm Road, Mandai Spore. Anyone can highlighted this.
These people are over the top indulgent. How much is really enough for these people? If super mega rich people like them gave away a portion of their money and/or created jobs, they can help many people and do a world of good. Instead what do they do? They spend it on luxurious toys that they eventually grow tired of. Unreal...
not sure who was driving the yellow car, maybe one of the royalties, it was not our Sultan cos if our sultan goes out, there must be his followers...that driver must be on of the royalties...about the car(I dont really knw much abt car), sorry!! ...
The sultan did not buy all this cars.....If you go research, it's the brother of the sultan who bought the cars. When the brothers buys a car, for example, ferrari f430, he buys in in bulk, all in different colours. Just for one car, 10 colours=10 cars. So it was not the sultan, it's the brother who bough these cars. Now the sultan is trying to sell the car which never even touch the main road.
@Duqsi Also, America is the most generous country in the world. What other nation gives away as much money to other countries that are in need? Ever think of it that way?
I know this was 9 years ago.. BUT the smudges on the lens.. This is the Palace through Smudged camera lens. Thanks. Lesson for the day everyone: Keep your lens clean if posting to site where video's remain until the end of time. Peace
I think most likely the Sultan's playboy brother Prince Jefri (if i got his name right) driving the the Lamborhigni, followed by his personal aides in the black car! There were police escorts in front to stop all traffic!!
@InUrFce my dad? you mean the same guy who went to brunei. by invitation from the sultan of brunei, to perform surgery there? fortunately he demanded his family, including me, to come along with him. we had a great time though. i find your comment very insulting. do you live in brunei? if so, perhaps you can tell me who you are, since you are such a tough boy?
@asianluther yup, healthcare is only a dollaaaa here :) haha that is if you're patient to go through the traffic and the waiting in line :) other than that, being a bruneian is simple and awesome. proud bruneian here bruh.
@ellie7242 apa yg kamu ckp itu hanya utk d indonesia.. kalo d brunei da sememangnya duit itu duit sultan sendiri bkn duit rakyat..malah sultan brunei sendiri memberi duit kepada rakyat dan sememangnya sultan patut bangga dgn apa yg dia miliki..bukannya menjadi pendatang meminta duit di negara org sbb negara sendiri engak punya uwang lg...
My problem with people like the sultan is not how they live, it is that they live so well on on money they did not earn. They get the money by virtue of birth and do little to improve the lives of the people in their country. Basic needs such as clean water, education and much more is not available to the people while the son of such people drive Lamborginis.

@Riles07 he didnt steal anything, the people of Brunei are all happy he is fair and kind. everything in Brunei is mostly subsidised
Good side ....
The yellow sports car in the video is Mosler MT 900. Mosler is a American company and the MT900 is their second car.
