      That's basically the gist of it. But the reality is this cop did not really know what he was investigating and seemed to be fishing for a reason to get her away from witnesses in order to finally "get control of her and put her in her place".

      Part of the problem is that she didn't realize it.
      3:22 "Hi. How you doing?" If her first, and only, words were, "I don't consent to any searches. I want an attorney present during any questioning. I invoke my right to remain silent.", case closed. No unlawful arrest, no dirty/torn clothes, no broken jaw, no bruised ego (well, he would still be butt hurt). Actually, there's a good chance he would have arrested her anyway but all the things she didn't say wouldn't be used against her. Don't talk to the cops.

    When I was 20 a cop out of nowhere in the middle of moving to a new home pulls up walks up to me starts slamming my head in the window and proceeded to put me in handcuffs and pulls my arm so far behind my back and broke my collar bone I'm 41 today and my spine in between my shoulders is all pinched nerves and my shoulder still broke and has broke a 2nd time a year ago. Cop charged me with resisting arrest and no original charge. Charges dropped and I lost my job and was out of work for several months and broke no job,no lawer, no ability to get justice.

    I get so F-ing sick of hearing cops try to de-escalate by saying, 'just relax' or 'we'll figure this out', as they continue to violently manhandle the accused person being handcuffed, especially when there was ZERO criminal activity witnessed. The initiating officer made the decision to arrest her out of a mix of fear and ego - it had absolutely nothing to do with the law.

      As the father of a mixed son, I have told him many times that there is almost no situation in which he should seek help from cops let alone approach them, and that if he is ever approached it is imperative he keeps his hands visible and does whatever they tell him to do, telling him to not get annoyed and basically let them violate his rights so that I can sort it out after the fact and he can keep his life.

      ​ yes you should tell your son to do this but it doesn't matter what color skin he has Cops treat everybody the same everybody is a criminal nowadays nowadays you are guilty until proven innocent I used to be supporters of the police and I always read what people reply back to me wait until it happens to you well it happened to me and I got treated like I was some piece of shit Criminal because I made a u-turn in a neighborhood they consider a bad I got accused of everything of being a drug dealer to buying drugs to looking for prostitutes in that neighborhood they pulled me out of my car by gunpoint search my car arrested me for my own prescription that is prescribed to me just because the lettering on a prescription bottle was faded a little bit so I got thrown to the ground by four cops well one pulled me one way one cop pulled me the other way and every time they would contradict each other and I experienced it personally and this is a tactic they use throughout the country that they don't tell anybody to get a resisting charge on you when one cop pulls you the one way and the other ones pulling the other way they say stop resisting stop pulling away from me and I'm not it's them pulling against each other then here comes the taser and here comes the nightstick all for whipping a u-turn that was legal I'm white the cops are white but I got treated like I was a complete garbage piece of shit Human Bean that robs grandma's and steals from little kids and tries to sell them drugs so if that could happen to me that's never got in trouble their whole life the Canon what happens to anybody no matter what they look like God bless and I hope your son never has to run into tyrants

      That’s the same thing I was thinking that some missed. He never ever told her she was detained. He just said stay right here. Then went to your under arrest. She knew she didn’t do anything wrong or committed a crime. The officer just screwed up plain and simple. Also, something to think about. The cop had the ex-husband there. He could have easily went to the ex-husband took a report, if a crime had been committed a warrant could have been issued for her arrest. Keeping in mind the ex was there her address and name could have been received from him.

    There’s no situation that the cops can’t make worse. This is a perfect example. Two adults are having a conversation - no screaming, fighting or hitting - and two minutes later the cop breaks the jaw of a 64 year old female. Congratulations Officer.     Loud talking, raising your voice, and even angry yelling is not "domestic violence", it's either disturbing the peace or a noise violation. When the cop showed up, the argument/noise had not escalated, it had already subsided. You don't forcefully arrest and break someone's jaw for a noise violation, especially one you didn't even observe! This cop is an obvious danger to the public.

      Police are supposedly trained in using the minimum amount of force to exact an arrest. This officer was hostile and confrontational, and violently assaulted a 64-year-old woman. He should be in prison for aggravated battery causing great bodily injury.
