Of course the screen would be backwards compatible, and the console controls. Very cool. Considering the mods that can be done those blank switches would get used in no time at all. Thanks for post. If Toyota made an ACTUALLY 2021 FJ Cruiser, they'd make a friggin' fortune! I get it, I love this car, and it's exterior looks still look amazing, but it's interior looks, specially it's technology and safety features, are basically 15 years old (except for the aftermarket Infotainment system, but those suck, so it's still no good). And I don't know about the motor, but I know that if they're using the same engine as the last actual production year from a decade ago, it's also pretty outdated, you'd get better performance and efficiency from a less gas-guzzling engine nowadays. Shame really, because the price tag isn't particularly cheap in the first place!
Hey Scott, you really got to check the car. I drove it months back (the 2021 trim in mid option). Check with the dealerships in Dubai, they export brand new cars from Dubai to all left hand driving countries

I like those running boards and the onboard air compressor, and I love that wide touchscreen. I wish we could retrofit that in the States. Also, did anyone see that huge scratch above the door handle? Ouch.

Not a great selling environment for a big, blocky vehicle with a 19 gallon gas tank, that got at best, 17mpg in the city and 19mpg-20mpg on the highway. And remember, in early FJCs, Toyota recommended premium gas. Big ouch to the wallet. Toyota didn't do anything to improve gas mileage. Sales dipped dramatically and never really recovered.
Toyota is selling FJ cruisers here in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, base model STD price in USD is 39,192.00 , price for FJ1 is USD 41,860 and price for FJ2 is USD 44,558.
Unfortunately Toyota discontinued the FJ Cruiser production in 2014 in the states. However, they are in production for GCC market and you can import them if they are in compliance with the US emission standards (Currently, they are coming up in EURO 4).. hope it helps :)

I wonder if it is possible to order the radio and panel for my 2012 here in the US. That is one of the things I like least in my FJ. So far I haven't been sold on any after market replacements.
@@CarK1992 I wouldn't look for that exact 12" head unit. Overseas electronics tend to be tuned to different radio frequencies, although most of us tend not to use AM/FM much any more. That wider trim panel would be very desirable. I'm not sure what head unit would fit since it isn't an average Double DIN shape. Let us know if you find anything.
These are Euro 4 bro, if US accommodates EURO 4 and above, then you could easily import it from Dubai.. there are plenty of dealership over here who would take care of the entire process: car purchase, getting it loaded on ship or plane and managing all the documents :)
In UAE, it's one of the most highly sought after off-roader. Yeah interior space, esp the rear seats are a bit put-off, but still they do sell a lot in GCC regions

It’s not a family car bro. If you have kids go for land cruiser or prado. This car is for singles or couples. I bought the exactly same one in December last year. Loving it. It’s easy to maintain, difficult to damage when off-roading and you don’t care about dust, dirt, mud. It looks cool too
Did the user manual have instructions for it? Do you know the password to get into the user/app setting menu. It doesn't come with very good instructions.

Toyota has been manufacturing it since 2007 and never stopped. It's still being sold in a couple of countries like the Middle East, Chile, Colombia, etc. Check their official Toyota website if you have doubts.
They have been discontinued everywhere save the middle east. For 2021 the only new thing they added is the center screen which is quite responsive but the rear camera display is weirdly wide :D
I love my '07 FJ in this same color, runs better than the day I bought it 250K miles later!
