I tried telling people a long time ago these could be insane xp farms but my brain lacked the power to bring it to fruition. Thank you great video. People thought I was crazy and stupid :)
I built this in my sever world here is things you should know if you also want to also build it 1: This works very well. Too well to the point that you should reconsider building it if either your game or your sever can handle it or not 2: Unlike the video pillager won't let you build stuff in their house, bring a lot of torches. By a lot I mean A LOT a lot, stacks like 5, 6 or more is recommended 3: If you're build on/off switch please build it BEFORE the spawning platform, you will need to be in pillager shooting range and I don't think it's a good idea 4: If you going up by using water, using it OUTSIDE the platform, using it inside will make pillager get closer to the villager and it's very annoying replacing them :< (I lost count how many times it happened to me) 5: idk either Im dumb or what, when building the platform he said "same height as the unspawnable platform" I translate them into same height as the slab infront of the villager, he meant the glass @@ 6: Bring lava to kill the flag pillager or every pillager if you're more careful, I accidentally start a raid and it is a nightmare to put it down So far that's all. Hope your building time go well @@
Another tip, don’t build this on superflat, the rates are so good due to low y level that there are too many pillagers to build the farm easily and they entity cram frequently. I average about 800+ pillagers at any one time
I love this side of the minecraft community, the optimization is crazy and the understanding of usability, when your farm is better and when it isn't, is refreshing, amazing video, am sure to try and build it
I got this to work well with an outpost that had a starting block at Y=125. I built 8 platforms. The outpost was really close to my base so wanted to try it and see if it would work. It’s not quite as optimized as lower levels but still sooo much faster than the Ender man farm we were using.
Ok, some important notes I have having made this farm I think everyone should know. #1. Full blocks MUST be used for the spawning platforms. If halfslabs are used, pillagers will spawn with broken AI. Eventually taking up possible spawning locations and slowing down mob production. This will also stop sweeping edge from functioning properly after some time with the farm running, even if you lower render/simulation distances. This is like a double stack on lowering efficiency. Full blocks for spawning platform is required. You can use the farm at near max efficiency for about short 10 minute windows(this may vary depending on your device), so if this is an early game xp farm, or you will only use it in short bursts for things like mending, then you may consider halving the block requirement of the farm by using slabs. Just know that if you change your mind you have to redo the lengthiest part of this farm build. Though this means you have to build the switch to disable the raid. Because waiting 40 minutes for the raid to fix itself kinda defeats the purpose of saving time on the block requirement of platforms. #2. I recommend placing temporary blocks around the center villagers until all spawning platforms are done. This is because pillagers arn't actually too far to shoot the villagers in the center, they're just too far away that their AI will never choose to load the crossbows. If they load crossbows because they aggro to you, they will use that shot on the villager if they drop aggro on you. And some pillagers will definitely spawn while building platforms if you don't torch as you go. Nobody likes moving villagers, just don't risk it IMO. #3. This also means You should avoid standing under the bottom villager. As this may put the player close enough to pillagers for them to load their crossbows and kill your bottom villager. This applies when the farm is fully built aswell. #4. When you're finished building the farm, start from the top of the bottom 6 villagers by pillaring up from Center block +1, +1. Then use a bow or crossbow to kill any pillagers on the top platform before exposing the villagers(as even being just 1 block away from villager, you are close enough that pillagers will load crossbows). Do not kill banner pillagers, because if a raid starts you won't safely uncover the villagers. You'll have to either run and despawn them, but the villager should be able to survive a single shot if its just one banner pillager, because again they are too far to choose to reload their crossbow. #5. Bottom slabs and most blocks you consider to prevent mob spawning, don't prevent pillager spawns during a raid. They will even spawn in 1 block air gaps where they suffocate, and blocks that are lit. This shouldn't matter but means to actually mob proof the area, you do have to destroy the blocks in the pillager towers spawn area. And even then it will have a negligible impact on farm unless you run it for ridiculously long periods of time. They don't appear to spawn on 1 block areas, like the the villager cells though. EDIT: I need to test further, but light may actually prevent pillager spawns in a raid? My farm wasn't as bad when I used torches on the bottom as opposed to slabs and pillagers that were on ground level may have just jumped down from the farm's platforms. If not you basically have to dig about 13 blocks down from the ground floor of the outside, to an area 36 blocks each direction from the center block horizontally. A bit of a mini perimeter. #6. Keep a lava bucket during the process, so you can kill banner pillagers without triggering a raid. You can also use pillager misfires. My note because I don't know if I built the farm wrong. But my afking platform is the correct distance from the center block. But pillagers spawn all the way at the bottom and begin to amass. Theoretically preventing the farm from working for long periods of time like an overnight AFK session. The ground is level with the original pillager outpost ground floor.
Good comments. They can be clustering on the bottom for a couple of reasons. Firstly check the spawn proofing, if there are hills around they can spawn there. Light does spawn proof as the pillagers are not spawning as part of the raid, but spawn then join the raid so a light level of 9 or above works. Secondly, their raid pathfinding is quite aggressive so they will actually jump off the platform and go to the bottom sometimes. You can build a fence around the outside platform to prevent this if you want to get rid of this issue.
One of, if not the most comprehensive farm guide I’ve ever used. Your spreadsheet was incredibly helpful!! Pro tip: do NOT start a said on accident while building this farm. To avoid this you can pillagers in your way with lava buckets. If you do start a raid I recommend running away and waiting the 40 or so minutes till the raid stops before continuing.
I'm going through this right now, and I'm facing a lot of issues with materials you've listed. Sometimes I see materials you suddenly pull out that I did not see in the list, and multiple times I've had to run through the nether to get back to my base in order to get the materials used to craft some of the things you mention. If not for this, I'd say this is a very solid tutorial.
very cool build I saw this concept a while ago but couldn't find a full tutorial for it. Also I saw someone asking why this could be helpful since there are other farms that are easier to build like guardian xp farms and for me I think the main reason is because It can be close to ur base without taking up the mob cap and it is useful to start raid farms. also enderman farms are really glitchy on servers and u can easily die using/making one.
I'm really enjoying your videos. Despite not being an il mango yet in terms of "game" knowledge. Your engineer approach is awesome and I'm learning lots of things with you, which are not readily available information. Now merge it with ianx04's stacking raid farm. So you can get endless raids and all the benefits make it modular so you start with the pillager tower? I am actually doing the raid farm side with a pillager tower right by my base on another server. I did a similar experiment with an overworld gold farm above a witch farm .. but somewhere the mob cap of the gold farm despite the fact that its not supposed to contribute to the mob cap, tops out and means that no witches spawn. I think it must be hitting the global mob cap. I think I have found a way to bypass this with another farm but .. we will have to see. I'd love to have a collab conversation with you.
My top Villager always gets killed no matter how hard i try to "hide" him any tips on that? and also a big part of pillagers just sit idle on the edges of the platform (seemingly stuck)
I found out that the pillagers load their crossbows if they get close to you and when they have a bolt loaded they are able to shoot from any distance So you sould not interfere with them and you will have no issues with the villager I also made a water pool between the villager and the top pillager so if any arrow gets launched to him it will get slowed and stopped by the water
@Galaktium Basically it's a bottom slab just outside of the bottom floor or the roof of each level and then you start the floor behind that. So it winds up being right above eyesight for them.
I built this last week when I saw your other video. 6 Layers. One thing I can't explain, is the center wall blocks you have as elevated slabs, I had to use iron bars (The topmost layer requiring the iron bars, a air space, and then another layer of iron bars). They are required to keep pillagers from accidentally shoving other ones off as they stare at the villager bait, but any other block I used including slabs blocked vision. Weird but worked.
I wonder if I can lavacast the platforms too. I have a special tech for casting flat stone floors, and it looks like it could potentially work, although I'd have to come up with a lava nozzle design for such a large footprint.
@@FalconR73 I think I did, you just can't get spotted by pillagers at the bottom so they don't draw their crossbows(basically let them see villager but not you)
Have to say, this XP farm is efficient asf and actually worth everyone's time. I do have one issue with it tho, specifically the "on/off" switch. It just doesn't work with the 6 bottoms villagers, the observers don't activate under any circunstances it seems. The mid villager had the same issue, but I fixed it by tinkering the observer's side while changing my solid block to a stone wall and also putting walls connecting the sticky pistons with the observer. Same didn't work for the bottom ones tho and Im now stuck with a half working "on/off" switch. Would appreciate an answer to it. Still a 10/10 farm. Edit: I fixed it. For some reason beyond my mind, one of the redstone dust that was above the note blocks just decided to erase itself from existence and I only found that after checking it like 4 times Now it truly is the 10/10 EXP farm
For anyone that is hoping that this farm gives ominous bottles in 1.21 but are disappointed that it doesn't work, here's a modification of this farm that has worked for me (6 layers) (outpost at lowest possible elevation, ie key block y=68): 1. replace composter in top comparison with a solid block 2. replace fire and soul sand with collection system 3. build a small non-spawnable platform at player position y=140 (you may need to adjust the position depending on how many layers you have, 6-7 layers ->key block +72, 8-9 layers->key block +72, move middle villager cell down by 10 blocks), drink ominous bottle there 4. drink ominous bottle again at that position if mounster counter stays around 70 Few points to note: 1. building things on top should not impact the rates much as long as they are not directly above the spawning platforms 2. here building more platforms can improve the rates of ominous bottle farming but not xp farming 3. dripstone modification helps a lot when the platform number is large, as pillagers near the killing chamber get counted towards the mob cap and should be removed as quickly as possible (dripstone decreases travel time) rate:~2800 ominous bottles/hour, ie ~560 of each type/h correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a technical minecraft player. hope this helps!t
@@alexanderiverson707 There shouldn't be any. Here's a quote from the Minecraft wiki: "If a raid wave begins while an illager is somehow already within 96 blocks from the raid center, the wave does not spawn at all and entirely fills up with however many existing illagers there are"
The villagers keep on getting killed in the 6 holding cells above the key block and the pillagers pile up at the end of the bubble column, do you know a fix. I built it all perfectly
Anyone else loosing villagers? I can understand the ones that get shot during the build, but even after I move the half slabs back one block, the pillagers are still shooting at the bait.

@@Monkai_Monkai Yeah, so the problem was that the pillager would see me, load their crossbow and then be loaded and shoot the villager. They can’t load the crossbow till they’re within 4ish blocks of the villager/player so it’s normally never a problem, unless they see you. The fix was just to put spawn proof blocks over my heads after replacing the villager. I stopped the farm (you could just cover the pillagers line of sight) replaced the villager and put glass over my head so they can’t load their crossbow by seeing me, and it works like a charm. Hope this helps, peace
Great video! The tutorial is easy to follow, but at a good pace. Just one thing. Maybe include more depth instructions on operating the farm - after I'm done running it, can I just walk away and the raid will take care of itself? Are the villagers in danger of dying from raid mobs? Can I just climb back up the ladder and start using it again if that same raid is still going? But still, great farm and tutorial.
As long as you dont aggro the pillagers and make them load their crossbows the villagers should be safe. You could use a ladder to get up to the platform just make sure you dont aggro any pillagers otherwise your villagers may die. I would suggest building a little bridge out of non spawnable blocks a bit out of the farm from the afk platform and make a bubble elevator/ladder to get to the platform, this way you wont risk villagers dying and will not get shot by tons of pillagers on the platforms Edit: the raid will stop on its own after roughly 40 mins if i recall correctly
@@pdolton2000 it is not a raid farm, the only valuable thing from this farm is xp. You can also get crossbows and banners but they are quite useless which is why there is an auto discarding system
Im having a problem where pillagers are grouping up on the first layer in one spot on the edge and falling off causing a horde of pillagers when I go to the bottom. Is there a reason for this, how might I fix it, and would a simple slab wall around the outers of the platforms work?
Hi Nico! I love this farm, but i think it would be even better if you could modify it to become an actual raid farm to collect the totems, emeralds and other stuff. Raids are already active when you turn the farm on, the only question is,, can you spawn pillagers and other mobs seperately and build a system to killl and collect the items? Or maybe just one additional platform to use raids?
I dont believe it can work on an outpost since the wave will never end because the pillagers are removed from the mob cap, and the outpost keeps spawning pillagers which join the raid, repeating the cycle, which is why you only get pillager loot. To get totems/emeralds you need evokers/vindicators which means you need to be able to get past the first couple waves
@@pdolton2000 adding hoppers to this farm will not give you totems or emeralds since no evokers/vindicators will spawn. This is because the wave never ends, so only pillagers will spawn
Hey Nico if you have a moment I was wondering if building a tower around the build (for aesthetics) would decrease efficiency. To note I would not build directly over the spawning platforms just on the outside of them. Awesome video though I will definitely use this in my world!
@NicoisLOST I am a bit sticky here with another question 😅, but is it OK if I expand the slab over the wooden stair in the AFK spot and make a small platform of it where pillagers can't see me when I move around there? Because my top villager died a few times because pillagers spots me walking on the platform and reloads, then shoots the villager instead of me! BTW, you answer very fast dude 💀
Nico, I'm playing on a server with a bunch of plugins and now other hostile mobs spawn in the pillager, how do I spawnproof them and only allow pillager?
What an absolute disaster! Nowhere is a bunch of stone fences mentioned in the initial supplies list or in the "bring everything with you for the top" supplies list. Yet there I was high in the air and the next instruction was to build up on stone wall segments. After coming back down and making those, remaking back up to where those start, then all the way to the top with the lava tower, "put an iron trapdoor here". No iron trapdoor is in either supplies list either. At this point I just left it.
I'm gonna say it. I hate this stupid key block concept... you can just say "build up x # of blocks" not "build up to key block + x" it makes it so much less work for us, then if we want to we can confirm it ourselves.... also making basically 3 farm variations at the same time made the video very confusing. I hate giving so much critique, and if this works for you/viewers, that's good, but this was just not possible for me to follow (albeit, I'm really ADHD and autistic so I might just not grasp it quite right) All that being said I do like your channel quite a bit :)
Hey I know you probably dont check comments for this video anymore but I'm playing in 1.20.1 and the villager at the very top keeps getting shot by the pillagers as they move through the bridge before they drop into the kill chamber. any idea how to mitigate this?
Maybe i am doing something wrong, but i just got the world download for the premium version and i can't seem to get it to work? edit: just figured it out, gamerule 'doMobSpawning' was set to false!
I’m using some mods and data packs that change structures around; what sort of things do I need to keep in mind to adjust for a different bounding box? Obviously you did not at all design for that use case and it might not work as well or have other unforseen difficulties, but a basic idea of anything that must be in (or must not be in, or is limited by, or…) the bounding box could help with potential adjustments.
hi so I built exactly everything and I’m crouched under the stairs. Waiting for them to spawn. Nothing is coming. What do I do? they spawn on bottom and flow up but when i go to top part and wait, only those one arrive
I build this farm on a multiplayer server and have the problem, that the pillagers can kill the villagers in the villager tower at the bottom. You got any fixes for that?
@@KrazyRhino2410 im assuming it would, but you would have to use the new ominous potions to start the raids manually. there are already very good ominous potions farms.
This Video left a lot of open questions for me. First of all, why use pillagers? just because of the Mobcap/Raid-mechanic? Or are their XP-Orbs the best size for a max-absorption-rate-xp-farm?
if i put soul campfire instead of soulsand, i could take the drops with a hopper under them, Right? Edit: They also drop emeralds? or only banners and crossbow?
the fire is supposed to delete extra xp orbs and items you can use hoppers or minecraft hoppers instead under the killing area but i dont see a reason to farm crossbows or ominous banners
if the pillagers spawning on platforms maintain line of sight over the slabs (the walls of the platform leading them to bubble columns) cant they just shoot the villagers?? my villager died because the pillager shot him to death while running on the platform... help?
By removing the soul sand in the killchamber which has the fire on it with hoppers and few chests you can also pretty easily have an emerald farm if I'm not mistaken. or a slow enchanted book or a very slow iron farm. I'd imagine these emeralds to be just as useful for players as the xp.
@@max7984 this is a pillager farm, not a raid farm. this farm will only spawn pillagers, so you will not get raid items like totems and emeralds. the farm only uses the raid mechanic to increase the spawn rate of pillagers. this farm is really only useful because it is a really good XP farm, even more efficient than the everso popular enderman farms. but if you want totems and emerals, you have to build a raid farm.
1.21 gives new reasons to build a pillager farm but pillagers during raid dont drop bottles and outside of raid rates are lower. Whats interesting is that pillagers stop being a part of raid when transported into different dimensions (i think). So like if you add 4 portals (two on top and two on bottom) and grinder in nether you should also get bottles. Thats like the easiest thing to do to already built farm. But what's important is that now it's reasonable to increase the rates of the farm up to maximum and make use of all the excessive pillager spawns
so i made the farm perfectly.. why wont the pillagers run toward the water elevator? they just running in circles around the place, i have hundred of them building up and dont know what to do
Great tutorial, i'm nearly done building this farm. One thing I'm not sure of is, what is the soulfire for in the killing chamber? Does it burn the loot, ot somehow damages the pillagers?

I built this in my sever world here is things you should know if you also want to also build it
1: This works very well. Too well to the point that you should reconsider building it if either your game or your sever can handle it or not
2: Unlike the video pillager won't let you build stuff in their house, bring a lot of torches. By a lot I mean A LOT a lot, stacks like 5, 6 or more is recommended
3: If you're build on/off switch please build it BEFORE the spawning platform, you will need to be in pillager shooting range and I don't think it's a good idea
4: If you going up by using water, using it OUTSIDE the platform, using it inside will make pillager get closer to the villager and it's very annoying replacing them :< (I lost count how many times it happened to me)
5: idk either Im dumb or what, when building the platform he said "same height as the unspawnable platform" I translate them into same height as the slab infront of the villager, he meant the glass @@
6: Bring lava to kill the flag pillager or every pillager if you're more careful, I accidentally start a raid and it is a nightmare to put it down
So far that's all. Hope your building time go well @@
Another tip, don’t build this on superflat, the rates are so good due to low y level that there are too many pillagers to build the farm easily and they entity cram frequently. I average about 800+ pillagers at any one time
I love this side of the minecraft community, the optimization is crazy and the understanding of usability, when your farm is better and when it isn't, is refreshing, amazing video, am sure to try and build it
to anyone building the farm, make sure to not place blocks inside the bubble columns or else you'll have to replace all the kelp
I got this to work well with an outpost that had a starting block at Y=125. I built 8 platforms. The outpost was really close to my base so wanted to try it and see if it would work. It’s not quite as optimized as lower levels but still sooo much faster than the Ender man farm we were using.
How many blocks did u tower up?
You can build a fence around the outside platform to prevent this if you want to get rid of this issue.
just finished this on my hardcore world and it works like a charm. (1.20.1) huge thanks!
One of, if not the most comprehensive farm guide I’ve ever used. Your spreadsheet was incredibly helpful!!
Pro tip: do NOT start a said on accident while building this farm. To avoid this you can pillagers in your way with lava buckets.
If you do start a raid I recommend running away and waiting the 40 or so minutes till the raid stops before continuing.
agreed. same if you want to get rid of a villager but dont want other villagers to raise a price for you - use flint and steel or lava bucket.
@@trzcinekpl3776 I like using gravel to suffocate them because it's less likely to start a fire.

True, I got to the "now light the soul sand on fire" and i was very confused because no where on the list did it say to bring a flint and steel
very cool build I saw this concept a while ago but couldn't find a full tutorial for it.
2:24 when you went over recipes what does "174 s, 62" mean?
I'm assuming 174 stacks and 62 more
stacks
"not early game due to redstone demands" - 12k+ blocks needed for this build btw
The Pillager appear to be Shooting the Villagers located within the spawn platforms, They died
My top Villager always gets killed no matter how hard i try to "hide" him any tips on that?
and also a big part of pillagers just sit idle on the edges of the platform (seemingly stuck)
Having the same problem with that top villager
I found out that the pillagers load their crossbows if they get close to you and when they have a bolt loaded they are able to shoot from any distance
So you sould not interfere with them and you will have no issues with the villager
I also made a water pool between the villager and the top pillager so if any arrow gets launched to him it will get slowed and stopped by the water
@jonel595 hmm... well I added another half slab higher up and it seems to have helped.
Where exactly did you add a slab?@@JessiChaosTheory
@Galaktium Basically it's a bottom slab just outside of the bottom floor or the roof of each level and then you start the floor behind that. So it winds up being right above eyesight for them.
I built this last week when I saw your other video. 6 Layers. One thing I can't explain, is the center wall blocks you have as elevated slabs, I had to use iron bars (The topmost layer requiring the iron bars, a air space, and then another layer of iron bars). They are required to keep pillagers from accidentally shoving other ones off as they stare at the villager bait, but any other block I used including slabs blocked vision. Weird but worked.
would have been nice if you made a note of the armor stand upgrade when the killing chamber was being built but otherwise good tutorial
I wonder if I can lavacast the platforms too. I have a special tech for casting flat stone floors, and it looks like it could potentially work, although I'd have to come up with a lava nozzle design for such a large footprint.
If you figure it out please join the discord to share :-]
Now I have another problem many others have too. Pillagers occasionally shoot the villagers and they end up dying? Is there a solution to this or?
I have this too, found a fix?
@@FalconR73 I think I did, you just can't get spotted by pillagers at the bottom so they don't draw their crossbows(basically let them see villager but not you)
@@weaboo_8965 Thx for your response mate :)
For some reason beyond my mind, one of the redstone dust that was above the note blocks just decided to erase itself from existence and I only found that after checking it like 4 times
Now it truly is the 10/10 EXP farm
can you get totems too from this farm?
For anyone that is hoping that this farm gives ominous bottles in 1.21 but are disappointed that it doesn't work,
here's a modification of this farm that has worked for me (6 layers) (outpost at lowest possible elevation, ie key block y=68):
1. replace composter in top comparison with a solid block
2. replace fire and soul sand with collection system
3. build a small non-spawnable platform at player position y=140 (you may need to adjust the position depending on how many layers you have, 6-7 layers ->key block +72, 8-9 layers->key block +72, move middle villager cell down by 10 blocks), drink ominous bottle there
4. drink ominous bottle again at that position if mounster counter stays around 70
Few points to note:
1. building things on top should not impact the rates much as long as they are not directly above the spawning platforms
2. here building more platforms can improve the rates of ominous bottle farming but not xp farming
3. dripstone modification helps a lot when the platform number is large, as pillagers near the killing chamber get counted towards the mob cap and should be removed as quickly as possible (dripstone decreases travel time)
rate:~2800 ominous bottles/hour, ie ~560 of each type/h

Just curious how do you kill the ravagers during the raid?
@@alexanderiverson707 There shouldn't be any. Here's a quote from the Minecraft wiki: "If a raid wave begins while an illager is somehow already within 96 blocks from the raid center, the wave does not spawn at all and entirely fills up with however many existing illagers there are"

lavacasting is awesome!
btw nice farm!

Happened to me too
happened to me, how did u go about getting a replacement villager?
I didnt know it was a raid farm? I thought this was just converting an outpost??
what are the answers to those
As long as you dont aggro the pillagers and make them load their crossbows the villagers should be safe. You could use a ladder to get up to the platform just make sure you dont aggro any pillagers otherwise your villagers may die. I would suggest building a little bridge out of non spawnable blocks a bit out of the farm from the afk platform and make a bubble elevator/ladder to get to the platform, this way you wont risk villagers dying and will not get shot by tons of pillagers on the platforms
Edit: the raid will stop on its own after roughly 40 mins if i recall correctly
@@pdolton2000 it is not a raid farm, the only valuable thing from this farm is xp. You can also get crossbows and banners but they are quite useless which is why there is an auto discarding system

Even if you didn't have any redstone yet, if you are going to do this much work pretty sure you'd go mining for 48 redstone lol
Amazing, thank you so much for this - been thinking about this farm ever since your initial videos on it
Is there a way to make it have a storage system for the totems and emeralds etc.?
This is not a raid farm. It doesn't produce emeralds and totems
Surely it just takes a few added hoppers and chests? Surely u can do this?
@@pdolton2000 Pillagers do not drop raid items on this farm. Not sure why

As long as there are no blocks over the platforms, it should be fine!

its simple if u have a brain
my head hurts
Is it OK if I make a storage instead of a campfire, or will it reduce the efficiency or rate?
Sure, but it only drops crossbows and banners.
@NicoisLOST I am a bit sticky here with another question 😅, but is it OK if I expand the slab over the wooden stair in the AFK spot and make a small platform of it where pillagers can't see me when I move around there? What an absolute disaster! Nowhere is a bunch of stone fences mentioned in the initial supplies list or in the "bring everything with you for the top" supplies list. Yet there I was high in the air and the next instruction was to build up on stone wall segments. After coming back down and making those, remaking back up to where those start, then all the way to the top with the lava tower, "put an iron trapdoor here". No iron trapdoor is in either supplies list either. At this point I just left it.
You said the key block should go on the first floor? Doesn’t look like the first floor in the video…
It's the floor above where you get in. Prob misspoke, but as long as you built it where he shows it should work
I'm gonna say it. I hate this stupid key block concept... you can just say "build up x # of blocks" not "build up to key block + x" it makes it so much less work for us, then if we want to we can confirm it ourselves.... also making basically 3 farm variations at the same time made the video very confusing. I hate giving so much critique, and if this works for you/viewers, that's good, but this was just not possible for me to follow (albeit, I'm really ADHD and autistic so I might just not grasp it quite right)
All that being said I do like your channel quite a bit :)

By removing the soul sand in the killchamber which has the fire on it with hoppers and few chests you can also pretty easily have an emerald farm if I'm not mistaken. or a slow enchanted book or a very slow iron farm. I'd imagine these emeralds to be just as useful for players as the xp.
Pillagers don't drop emeralds unfortunately.

@@max7984 this is a pillager farm, not a raid farm. this farm will only spawn pillagers, so you will not get raid items like totems and emeralds. the farm only uses the raid mechanic to increase the spawn rate of pillagers.

but if you want totems and emerals, you have to build a raid farm.
Am I doing something wrong? My observer isnt detecting the trapdoor for some reason... is there any alternative to this??
1.21 gives new reasons to build a pillager farm but pillagers during raid dont drop bottles and outside of raid rates are lower. Whats interesting is that pillagers stop being a part of raid when transported into different dimensions (i think). So like if you add 4 portals (two on top and two on bottom) and grinder in nether you should also get bottles. Thats like the easiest thing to do to already built farm. But what's important is that now it's reasonable to increase the rates of the farm up to maximum and make use of all the excessive pillager spawns
instead of the soul fire, but an item sorter at the bottom to extract raid bottles. They drop like 3 a minute.
Is it possible to use top slabs for the platforms? I can get a hold of 174 stacks of building blocks but it just takes forever!

burn the loot, since it drops banner and crossbow, which takes up slots quickly
How long does it take the farm to get "up to speed" ie. Get to max absorption rate?
