I signed up last month and have been working the past couple of weeks on getting my site up and running. I've added about 50 local businesses for free, started a Facebook page, and also ran a couple of Facebook ads (spent less than $10). One thing I noticed when I began focusing on contacting local businesses but was concerned about not having that much traffic, I went into the Stats section of each listing and was happy to find that several of these businesses already had a few hundred page views each! That way, when I approach them in an email, I can let them know that within less than 2 weeks, there have already been a couple hundred people viewing your ad (I even had one business with over 600 views!). You can even take a screenshot of their stats and include it as an attachment. I think any business would appreciate that kind of specific results in such a short time, also quick to mention that it's only going to get bigger and better as the site grows.
@@pkwealth11 I was never able to get any businesses to sign up. I think part of it was because I live in a small town of less than 20K people where most businesses do most of their advertising on Facebook groups basically for free. I kept dropping the price, offering discounts, started my own Facebook group to promote my site, but no one wanted to pay. I still think it's a great product if you can find the right market to use it with. The people were really nice to work with.
It depends on demographics too. I have a hyperlocal directory in a poor community, so my lowest membership is $15 PER YEAR, followed my $50 and premium members $150. I’ve made $750 this year. I recommend publishing a magazine to gain credibility. People LOVE the idea of being highlighted in there. You can start selling ads there too. More work of course, but also great way to grow your business and stay competitive. Do what your competition most likely isn’t able or willing to do.

How would you gain more traffic?
thanks very informative
You're good 👍
What do you consider a monthly subscription price?
We recommend a minimum of $50/month per listing.
@@idealdirectories damnn. I was thinking 10. But how will I charge them that, when I don't have any traffic at the moment.
@@copysulting You could always discount it in the beginning...but re-watch this video. It answers that question for you.
