I want to give a special thank you to each and every single one of you who thought about me in these last few months, and reached out to send me encouragement, prayers and well wishes!! You have no idea how some of your messages would turn around my day, and I’m so grateful for your obedience, discernment and community! I love y’all so much and I’m so thankful for you all! 💕
I personally know a lady that went to medical school around 36 or 37. She had 3 kids and was a single Mom. She's now been a M.D. for about 11 or 13 years now.
Brelynn, your path has always been the one thing that keeps going. It doesn’t matter how long or where but God is preparing you for greater! I’m happy to se you smiling through all the pain but trust me, Gods timing will be perfect for you. We love and miss you. Greater is coming! ❤
Brelynn, my daughter is a senior in high school and wants to be a dermatologist. I have shared with her your realistic journey. Keep pushing for brown girls like my daughter. The journey may not be easy but the lessons in perseverance is part of your purpose. I will keep you in my prayers. Much love to you young lady.
Brelynn, by revealing this, you've poured life into many of us in similar situations, and your disappointment will turn into joy in God's time. Thank you...
We often quote Jeremiah 29:11 to others "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." BUT we fail to tell others of the background. The people of Judah were stuck in Babylon for 70 years so they truly had to wait on God. It seems like this is your season of waiting Brelynn. It's long, it's hard and it is painful but wait on God, trust in Him. Your time is coming! ❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing, Brelynn! I was in your exact position last year, and God reminded me that He has never left my side and never will. I currently attend medical school at The American University of the Caribbean in Sint Maarten, and believe me when I say that considering Caribbean medical schools never crossed my mind. But God spoke to me and affirmed that the desire to serve was placed on my heart for a reason, and He will see me through no matter how unconventional it may feel or become. You will be a beautiful gift to any medical school you attend, and I pray that when you are accepted, it's more than anything you could have imagined! I pray that this transition period continues to increase your trust in God and that you are covered with peace and comfort. May your obedience be rewarded, in Jesus' name! You got this, girl!🤎
Brelynn!!! God is going to make up for it ALL!!!!!! Psalms 126 those who sow in tears shall reap in joy with their harvest with them. Can't wait to hear your full testimony!! Rejoicing in advance!
May your obedience be rewarded in Jesus name. May your waiting period end in triumph. May doors open in abundance. In Jesus name. God bless you Brelynn!! You are a living testament of the wonder of God!
Hi Brelynn! I want to validate all your emotions and thoughts. I 100% believe that God is working behind the scenes. He doesn’t only want you to be a MD. He wants his light and blessings to shine and reflect his glory. That can mean he is working on getting the right people on your path, scholarships, and the and into the best school for you. Please don’t lose hope! God is with you ❤
Brelynn, this is a season of breakthrough. I know all of this going hurts. When I tell you, many of us are in the same place (just with different challenges), and they seem to come all at one time. The crisis of belief is real. But it is in the "in-between", where the supernatural manifestation of God's glory shows up strong, quick, and timely. We who believe are there too. You will win, Mama. We gonna let the Father clock it!❤
Brelynn, I hope you stay encouraged. Our journeys are very similar, and we are the same age. I remember being in this season so vividly and all of the feelings you are describing. I was recently accepted to medical school this year, to God be the glory, and I can see now why I had to wait. I pray that when you receive your acceptance, you realize that you were overqualified and that God was just trying to expand your territory and your preparation. You will be ACCEPTED, and it will be into a fantastic medical program. Much love girl and I will be praying for you. YOU GOT THIS!!! Also, if you have not try applying to some of the medical schools in Michigan. Michigan State CHM, Wayne State SOM, etc.
This was right on time. Thank you for being so transparent and vulnerable. As someone who is in a very similar season as you, it has been difficult to trust and surrender fully to God. But day by day, I try my best. God is always on time and 2024 isn’t over yet. God will honor your obedience and bless your testimony. We never know how it works out but it always does. You may think Miss America, God may be like, actually this was preparation for you to be Miss USA…..so you can be the next Miss Universe. You may think God just get me into medical school. But God is trying to get you into a school with full scholarship and a community that will help steward your influence, platform, and ministry. I’ll be praying for you. Thanks so much for sharing!! I’ll be looking forward to more videos ❤❤❤❤
You are handling this so well. You’ll always be a pageant girl even though you didn’t realize your ultimate dream. It’s so tough when a dream dies but you should be heartened. Your future is clearly so bright.
Thank you, Brelynn, for your transparency and sharing your journey. It really resonated with me because I’ve experienced similar disappointments with my own career plans. I realize that sometimes the struggles we face are part of the testimony God is building, not only for ourselves but for others who need encouragement. Your story is a reminder that even in the hard times, God is working. Your trust in His timing is an inspiration, and I appreciate you sharing this testimony-it’s also a testimony for me. I pray that you find comfort and peace in the Lord and in His Word during the season in your life. God bless.
Brelynn, I feel like I’ve been watching your journey since you graduated from undergrad. I am SOOOOOOO proud of you through it all. I admire you so much… your resilience, intelligence, vulnerability, courage, and determination!!!! It absolutely does suck when what you think is best is not what God KNOWS is best. It’s hard. My gap “year” on my medical school journey has been 4 and a half years now. However, God has shown me wonderful women (some older than myself) on the same path AND succeeding after they wondered if medicine was meant for them as well. WE GOT THIS! I have found that in my lowest moments in life God has came through the most in ways I couldn’t imagine. Even when I honestly lost my faith in Him momentarily…He did not leave me or forsake me. Sometimes we have to lose everything “we’ve built” to fully believe in God and receive everything the Lord has planned for us. Prayers for you on this journey ❤ don’t give up!!!
Thank you so much for your vulnerability in this difficult season! You have no idea how many people you’re helping & inspiring by being so transparent. Delay does not mean denial! Keep pushing babe. We’re all rooting for you! God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. Here’s 2 passages to reflect on: 2 Corinthians 12:6-10, James 1:2-4. Hope your mental health is in a better place & can’t wait to see how God moves in your life ❤
Brelynn, I join with so many others in your community to prayerfully thank you for sharing your journey through faith by trusting in Him. You are truly an uplifting blessing to so many of us!
I am older than you and in a similar season of trust myself. A lot of the dreams I had for myself didn't come to pass, including having my own family. I'm 41 and alone. The majority of my support system has passed away. I just started law school, a dream I had for years since I was a child, and now I'm questioning if this was the right move. Why didn't it happen sooner? Why am I dealing with so many health challenges with no help? Why am I struggling with this season of my life? Working full-time and going to law school. I'm learning to take my hands off of it because I have no control. Your podcast is encouraging me. Hang in there. I've been with you for YEARS and am praying that it happens for you suddenly.
Girl! I really appreciate your vulnerability when making this video. I'm in a similar situation applying for administrative fellowships, and wasn't chosen this cycle. They have another cycle that opens in November that I am going to apply to. I was going to give up, but because of this I can't now. I've been strugglinng with my faith as well, and rejection over and over again is so tough! So thank you again.
I can’t express how much my spirit needed this! There are so many of us going through the same thing. God is most definitely using you right now so please keep going!
You are so brave for sharing this. Admissions is such a black box. I wish you could get some firm answers why they haven’t selected you yet. I hope you find a resolution. ❤❤
I’m so sorry Brelynn. Those are very big disappointments and you deserve to feel your grief. I’ve been there. It’s easy to say be happy on the journey while you are trying to get to where you want to be but so much harder to do. I’m glad you are understanding and reframing these experiences in a way that takes you to an even deeper level of your faith. I hope that you are able to get access to a good therapist as well. One day when you are where you want to be, which you will be, you will look back on this period and it won’t feel as long as it was. Always rooting for you. ❤
As someone who has been going through such a similar journey, all I can say is THANK YOU. Your vulnerability is your superpower! All parts of your testimony are touching more lives than you know and helping those of us who are facing similar tough seasons to remain steadfast and hopeful. May God bless you for being obedient enough to still walk in your purpose through your content creation, even in the challenging phases of your life. We see you, we feel you, and we’re with you girl! 💯 Though you may not see it just yet, victory is already yours through Christ (Psalms 62:1; Psalms 118:21; Romans 8:37)!! 🙏🏽 Truly grateful to see you back Brelynn 🫶🏽
lissssennnn! i hear you sis. im happy that you are moving at your own pace. this whole thing can be soooo brutal. let me know if you ever wanna bounce ideas off of each other whenever you plan to apply again. rooting for you!
I was just thinking of your testimony when watching this video and I'm so happy to see you commented. Listen as a non-traditional black med student who took several gap years, I'm just here to do what Issa said: root for everybody that's black! I'm grateful for those of y'all who are brave enough to share your stories on social media, keep on pushing we are all rooting for you!
Wheeewwwwww!! Hearing you unpack the season you’re in reminded me of something I came across years ago that will forever stick with me: It’s not “yes” until God says “no,” it’s “no” until God says “yes.”
The way I’ve been searching for you in these you tube streets!! It’s so good to see your face. Now let me get into this video. Before I do that, I just gotta say this for whoever needs it. Trust the Process! 🙏🏾💗🙏🏾💗
This is really in tune. Keep listening to God and the Holy Spirit. I’m in a similar season and when I tell you I don’t know what God has in store, but in his infinite wisdom and knowledge he has a plan. Keep trusting in him!
Hi Breylynn, I have been a subscriber since you were at Spelman. I am a pre-dental student in grad school, around the same season as you. Your story, inspiration, trust in God, and resilience has been very helpful to my journey. Thank you for your transparency.
You are absolutely amazing! Thank you for being so vulnerable! That was very helpful to me, having someone understand the struggle of trusting God for things that haven’t yet. May God continue to bless you and give you the tools that you need to keep going. I’m rocking with you through it all! 🙏🏽♥️
We are literally going through the same thing , like this podcast really helped me 💓 as a college senior I’m trying balence and figure out everything and enjoy it , and it was becoming a lot , I literally cried everyday , and cry to god and it helps and I asked the same questions but it all works out 💓
Brelynn, God’s grace reigns forever and just know that he has something bigger for you! It may not be medical school but what is your next plan A? I’m sending you a big hug and you know you’re destined for greatness!!❤
Thank you so much for sharing this! I resonate with you in so many ways. I had a very unconventional MD application cycle and had to trust God and find purpose in my waiting season. I matriculated last cycle, so if I can help you on this journey in any way, just let me know!
Hello my Friend! I am really happy to hear your attitude towards all of this! I agree & can relate to this, I've experienced this a few years ago & getting on the other side is amazing. The best part is, now you can be excited for what God DOES have planned and designed for you. Now you get to receive❤ Thank you for sharing with us! I am excited for more podcasts and videos, take care of your self first always before the content. 🩷 We understand that time away is essential🧡
I've been thinking about you so much Brelynn! I've also been dealing with my own season of disappointment, so I completely resonate with this podcast. You continue to be such an inspiration to me.
Thank you for this … your vulnerability and transparency . I’ve been struggling with these exact thoughts between my career and moving and my littles! Whew life been lifin….. you brought forth a WORD! SURRENDER!
Hey girl, first of all thank you for sharing this part of your journey with us. It can truly be heart wrenching and I can hear and feel your pain… your frustration, your questions are all valid. We are here rooting for you and I am certain that in due time, God will make it happen in a way that you couldn’t have imagined. I say that because I have experienced feelings like this when I saw everyone else progressing in areas that I wanted to. One scripture that helped me was this “You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalms 139:15-16 NLT It’s hard, it’s frustrating but it’s not impossible. I love you and I’m very proud of you. Waiting on the sidelines cheering for you until you cross the finish line 🏁🫶🏾
You are such an inspiration! It’s crazy that we are in the same position and praying the same things. Bre, you are such a blessing to my life and I pray you get everything God has for you.
Brelynn thank you so much for your transparency! I always brag to my boyfriend and friends and family like you my personal friend but I really look up to you because your story gives me hope. I been watching your vlogs faithfully since I was a senior in high school and now I am 24, 2 years out of college , and a kid on my own hoping to be an aspiring physician assistant I know exactly what you are going through but like you know , You WILL GET THROUGH THIS ! Keep the faith and anchor yourself to the trust of God 💓
Brelynn thank you so much for sharing this with us! We have missed you so much here but your hard work will not be in vain. Your consistency will not go unrewarded
Girllll we love you and we’re excited for this new season ik it’s hard here road to medicine with you. We’re going to make it!!! Ty for this encouragement it was timely, new and well received. ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience with so much grace and transparency. I totally relate to your story as someone still in the premed process that is facing setbacks and rejections. I pray that God helps us through it all. Praying that God opens doors for your job search, whether it is in DC or elsewhere. Love you girl!
I really needed to hear this podcast today!!! I have definitely been making time my idol and need to just trust God and surrender. I know you will get in med school in God's time. I am so happy your are back!!!!!
Whew!! I know exactly how you feel and I’m so sorry about everything. I hope things start to look up soon and you find the answers you are looking for ❤
Thanks for sharing your story. I'm sorry to hear of the events of this past admission cycle. The way that you are processing this by staying close to God is admirable and I think it will make the difference for your emotional, mental and physical health; as well all the ultimate fulfillment of your dreams and desires. I am praying for you, for God's perfect will to be done in your life. It is evident that you are his humble servant and his plans for you are good. Stay encouraged. "Better things are on the way to you" :D Missed seeing you on YT. Great to see you again!
This testimony really touched me 😢. You have been truly missed Brelynn & although I know this transparency was HARRDDDD…it truly felt like hands were laid upon me. Thank you for sharing❤️. Let me get my tethered’s together 🙌🏽❤️
Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this..thank you for your transparency…this truly blessed me! I’m praying for you lady ❤️❤️ “exceedingly..abundantly..” God is working 🙏🏿🙌🏿 I’m trusting Him!
Brelynnnnn!!!!!!!, I am going through a very similar season and I’m so grateful for your obedience and your vulnerability because this video is my answered prayer and honestly healed a piece of my heart that was broken
I was so happy to see your video! I love the transparency! I’ve been in a similar situation years ago, and it all worked out. I believe everything will work out for you. Can’t wait to see the upcoming vlogs ❤
Thank you for sharing! I resonate with this fully. I was supposed to be taking my mcat this year and applying but I just couldn’t make it work on my timeline. I’m still studying for my first mcat exam but in the meantime, I’m getting my health back. I made myself so sick trying to rush to do everything at the same time and still tend to my family.
I watched you for years and i have been rooting for you. I'm from the Caribbean and i think it couldn't hurt for you to apply to University of the West Indies (jamaica, Barbados and trinidad campuses). The Jamaica campus is the best in the Caribbean. Hope everything works out for you.
Never in a million years would I would have thought I am where I am. Sometimes you really have to surrender your vision for your life and allow God to His work. You may have to grieve the life you planned but in letting go you do realize that all those rejections was really a protection.
Hey Brelynn, just wanted you to know that you sharing your journey has inspired me to succeed, so it is not in vain. For the past 3 years I have been working towards my CPA license. I only passed 1/4 exams on the first attempt, so I'm no stranger to failure. Seeing how disciplined and resilient you were helped me to keep going as well. This was my breakthrough year; I finally got my license and got a promotion at work (both things I was hoping for last year). I hope I can help you how you've helped me. The only way you won't succeed is if you give up. God gave you that dream and only he knows how/when you will achieve it. Keep becoming Dr. Brelynn. About Ms. America, he has something even greater in store for you. It's okay to feel down for a bit, but don't let it consume you. I know it's easier said than done, but you have to make a conscious decision every day. No need to feel ashamed. Nobody here is perfect and we're all rooting for you 💗
@Breylnn, girl, I missed you!!! I knew that you were busy doing life. You made me weepy hearing your desires deferred in terms of med school. Thank you for pointing out that Time can be an idol. That was hard to hear but necessary. @BreylnnHunt
Hey Brelynn, there’s a summer program at UNC Chapel Hill for pre med/dental students. It pays you and it provides free housing/food. You should consider applying. They will write you a letter of recommendation for med school. It can also give you over 200 hours for research experience. It’s called the MED program. Please consider it!
I'm sorry that Miss America did not work out. I know that was part of your dream. :/ I'm wondering if you thought about competing elsewhere? Maybe Miss USA where they took away the age restriction?
I want to give a special thank you to each and every single one of you who thought about me in these last few months, and reached out to send me encouragement, prayers and well wishes!! You have no idea how some of your messages would turn around my day, and I’m so grateful for your obedience, discernment and community! I love y’all so much and I’m so thankful for you all! 💕
I personally know a lady that went to medical school around 36 or 37. She had 3 kids and was a single Mom. She's now been a M.D. for about 11 or 13 years now.
Gurlllll I was just thinking abt u today! I’m like I hope Brelynn doesn’t take this sabbatical too serious. So glad you’re back!
Brelynn, your path has always been the one thing that keeps going. It doesn’t matter how long or where but God is preparing you for greater! I’m happy to se you smiling through all the pain but trust me, Gods timing will be perfect for you. We love and miss you. Greater is coming! ❤
This episode alone was God! Thank you Brelynn, God has been talking and I wasn’t LISTENING! ❤
Brelynn, please know that you have hundreds, if not thousands of women in your corner. We are all praying for you and your success.

I know it’s hard! But you will have such a beautiful story to tell once you are Dr. Hunt!

Setbacks for a major Comeback! Sis You Got This! Trust God's Timing it will all turn around for your good. 🙏🏽
Hey glad to see you. I was worried when you didn’t post for a while. I know sometimes you need a break. But glad to see you are back.
all the best Brelyn. I have been there but there is no way but up. you have hit rock bottom so you have no option but to keep applying
Girl, my word of the year is surrender and when I tell you, you are SPEAKING.

Hearing you unpack the season you’re in reminded me of something I came across years ago that will forever stick with me:

This is really in tune. Keep listening to God and the Holy Spirit. I’m in a similar season and when I tell you I don’t know what God has in store, but in his infinite wisdom and knowledge he has a plan. Keep trusting in him!
Hi Breylynn, I have been a subscriber since you were at Spelman. I am a pre-dental student in grad school, around the same season as you. Your story, inspiration, trust in God, and resilience has been very helpful to my journey. Thank you for your transparency.
Thank you for your transparency Brelynn! This word was soooo needed for me!!
You have no idea how on time this message is for me! Thank you for sharing!🙏🏾❤️
You are absolutely amazing! Thank you for being so vulnerable! That was very helpful to me, having someone understand the struggle of trusting God for things that haven’t yet. May God continue to bless you and give you the tools that you need to keep going. I’m rocking with you through it all! 🙏🏽♥️
Missed seeing you Brelynn🥹
I’m sorry Brelynn! I’m rooting for you
Thank you for this … your vulnerability and transparency .
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalms 139:15-16 NLT
It’s hard, it’s frustrating but it’s not impossible. I love you and I’m very proud of you. Waiting on the sidelines cheering for you until you cross the finish line 🏁🫶🏾

So much to say, I’m proud of you!
I was definitely thinking of you today! I still have faith in you! And you are absolutely incredible!
Thank you for sharing Brelynn 🌷, I'm living this in real time right with you, God is with us 🌺

I watched you for years and i have been rooting for you. I'm from the Caribbean and i think it couldn't hurt for you to apply to University of the West Indies (jamaica, Barbados and trinidad campuses). The Jamaica campus is the best in the Caribbean. Hope everything works out for you.
I can relate so much😩
Never in a million years would I would have thought I am where I am.
Hi Brelynn! Add "Confess" by B'Janae & WestEnd Shawty to your Christian music playlist!
Your story reminds me of refiner by maverick city music. Sending you so much love in your journey!
I really enjoyed this video 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💯💯💯

I'm sorry that Miss America did not work out. I know that was part of your dream. :/ I'm wondering if you thought about competing elsewhere? Maybe Miss USA where they took away the age restriction?
