As a 90s kid I grew up knowing and have watched Gundam. But 00 was the one that I religiously watched all the way from season 1, 2 and movie. I was taken away by its story, characters, the Gundams and animation that's why it is my favorite Gundam show ever.
Gundam 00 for me is one of the best series ever, I loved the designs for all Gundams featured in it. Gundam Seed Destiny for me became repetitive with their designs and were just plain lazy during the second season of the show when it came to animation
That's because it was during the time when every mecha anime copied Evangelion. Dark, brooding and flat out depressing. And then GaoGaiGar stepped in and did the complete opposite. And that's how we got G Gundam
I felt like IBO has the best animation for tv series gundam so far, rivaling some Gundam OVAs and movies in production quality, where something like the urban battle between 8th ms team and norris packard gouf is bloody good Haven't watched witches of mercury though. I don't mind spoilers too
Witch from Mercury has great animation but the story is pretty... eh. It starts off really good, falls off a bit during the second season, then finishes with a very rushed ending.
Personally i think 00 has the best gundam designs. Nadleeh is undeniably the pretiest gundam (and i mean prettiest not coolest). Before that i never really thought about gundams adding aesthetic components but the "hair"(i know it's not hair but yea) in nadleeh just looks great. Also that transformation feels like a magical girl transformation. Funny as it is, i still think it's pretty neat. When you see it, it just screams tieria by aesthetic points alone. IBO has some sick gundams too. Idk how popular barbatos is with other fans but i really think it's iconic in that it is easier to recognize. Flauros transformation in this video was pretty sick as well.

You're overlooking the fact that this video was made entirely with minimum effort for half-a$$ed results. Transformation sequences taken from end-credits because, obviously, it never appeared at any other time in the series. A 'transformation sequence' that's about a half second of a backpack making final connection. Repeating a sequence later on in the video in the hopes of us forgetting that we saw it earlier maybe? 🤔
The Stamen only goes inside a mobile armor, it's not a transformation that requires any mechanisms on the ms. The Alex's chobam doesn't count as a transformation. Do you count taking off your jacket as a trasformation?
The fact that Freedom and Justice + Meteor Unit and Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice + Meteor Unit uses the exact same animation, but with slight changes to the Gundams' designs just highlights how much of a clip-show the later parts of SEED Destiny was. They recycled so many clips from older episodes, but updated the designs slightly, that it becomes really obvious when re-watching or binge-watching the show. A shame, really...
Did you know? Akatsuki (both model) and justice (both infinite and the old model) double saber drawing animation, with shield deploy and all, is also the same. Also both freedom and strike freedom evasion of bullet hell, like from providence and legend, are the same. Not to mention the sword clash clash/gun pew pew moment that ends in a gundam zooms in fram like destiny and strike freedom too. It's a shame, really, early episode of seed before freedom was quite good IMHO, like the weight of the sword/launcher strike was felt in the respective first battle or when kira adjusting stuff in the desert battle. Those are good, cool and unique

The amount of reused scenes in Gundam Seed is laughable. It's almost as bad as Gundam Wing with how much they reused animations. I mean even the lower budget Gundam X actually avoided this. Well I guess that's what happens when you spend most of your budget on popular singers at the time. I still like Seed though :P
For me, gundam seed and destiny holds a special place in my heart. I don't know why people criticize it. The osts are by far the best out of all gundam series, the gundam designs and battles are a treat and a pretty decent plot IMO. But unfortunately, it didnt get the praise it deserves.
It's because how corny the characters is designed (especially the mc) so of course the story also became corny af cuz it's just centered on how the mc can do anything better that other people can't lol and the lack of characters building other than kira yamato makes it worse, but i agree with u about how great the series interm of gundam design, music etc
The criticisms deserve merit. Gundam Seed just has a lot of actual problems in every department. Writing can be shit sometimes and a lot drama feels contrived. The animation is laughable with most battles being just a wholesale of reused footage. Lets not even talk about the production problems of Seed Destiny, the less said about it the better. I still like Seed overall, but it probably has the most flaws out of all the classic shows.
I like transforming gundams that make mechanical sense because my mind can process it better, and I think it makes it more appealing ascetic wise ( I know it's anime, so not everything is going to make sense or be feasible but it's why I love it)
Still don't understand what unicorn gundam's transformation is for...all the other gundams turn into MA mode or other easier to fly mode, but Unicorns they just change into MS to glowing MS. They could've just made the MS in NT-destroy mode from the start if they didn't wanna conserve energy.
Energy isn't the problem here but the system itself. Unless you're a strong newtypes like banagher etc, there no way you can handle ntd more than 5 minute. It will basically turn your brain into smoothie. Also by activating ntd you also removing rx0 limiter, thus giving it higher performance than it normal mode.
