The fact that David Boreanaz can play a character like Angel for 4 seasons of Buffy, then 5 seasons of Angel, but at any given time completely flip his personality and portray Angelus at the drop of a hat speaks volumes about his talent as an actor. What was inhanced was liams need to be love by a parent. So as a human. He lashed out for attention, got in double etc. Darla played the parent role for him after she turned him. If he had just waited like every time he did with Angel and not gone to the channel director who was in charge at that time and straight up asked him whether or not he'll give a go ahead with the series continuation, we may still have had a good season finale (Season 6). Whether it would have been Angel winning and redeeming himself or watching the whole world go down to Hell, because they were fighting virtually Gods from Hell, it's another question for that matter. Personally, speaking about the series, I think that they should have only have had four seasons in total, without any Connor and without Cordelia being possessed by Primaeval Evil. Because, frankly, that was just bull, not to mention that after Season 3 the who kinda started to go down hill, Season 4 may have tried to redeem itself, but, afterwards I felt like I was watching Xena or Hercules - only in vampiric format. However, with the Seasons Buffy the Vampire Slayer improved drastically. I, mean, Season 4 was the lamest of them all, and Season 5 redeemed it. And then it went better and better. Now, regarding other vampire shows. You realise, though, that there are a lot of lore about vampires, and since, there's no such thing as a "true vampire" and no one holds copyright to them, because the myths/legends belong to folklore stuff, writers can make vampires into virtually whatever they want them to be. It's all about jumping into the fan wagon, acknowledging whether or not the market will like your produce. If you're too late to jump into it, you will sink. Personally, after Twilight books, I thought that any vampire themed books/movies will be doomed to fail, because the hype will be over. And it sort of is. The only reason why Vampire Diaries was created, because the books had been out there for a long time, and the producers thought: "Hey, we may still be on time to that vampire fan train". And they were right. Personnaly, even thoug I'm a guy, but I do like Vampire Diaries. It has many lovely girls in it. And actually during Season 1 of the series I actually felt sad for some of the characters (namely Elena's aunt who was killed by Claus), because the character development was done, in my opinion, fairly good.

Yeah true. The reason Angel's fight was never shown was because it stood that he would always keep fighting to protect mankind. Whether ppl didn't trust him or wanted him dead, The Powers That Be recognized him as their Champion to the world. Its weird ya knowing his past, but his destiny was written before Spike or Buffy. Plus he is the one vampire that could either bring Armaggedon or Salvation depending on his actions.

Angel has it harder I think, Angelus was cursed with a soul where Spike earned his. My sister believes Spike is champion out of the two because he sought redemption by choice, and even without a soul he had love and devotion for first Dru and then Buffy, so much that even under extreme torture from Glory he didn't tell her about Dawn, he's just different to other vampires, angel is worse than others as a cold blooded killer, but I think that only makes his battle for redemption bigger
what you said is the good moments in those seasons,in season 5 there's only like 6 episodes that I love to watch over and over,,season 6 the first 2 episodes and the musical and the last 4 episodes + normal again I can't get enough of, but the rest I enjoyed it only the first time I saw it unlike the rest of the seasons every episode is great I've seen season 1,2,3 like millions of times and I never got bored,,

Dude your going into something that was never said. PTB already chose Angel as a champion way before Buffy started striking fear into the wicked. In reality, yeah I do. He is redeming himself for the crimes he's done. Plus there was that prophecy about a vampire with a soul becoming human when he was finished with his duty. True Spike has a soul also, but he wasn't the chosen vamp. In the comics of Angel, Wes showed Angel a glimpse of a war coming that would impact the world and him standing in vamp mode with bodies all around. So he was chosen a long time before Buffy. I know Buff did a lot more, but she wasn't in the path of redemption.

Takes more pleasure in pain than any other creature. Earned respect from the master & the first cause they saw it. Darla saw the darkness in him it was always there. Angel says it's not the demon that's needs killing it's the man. Some entity's kill for food or sport having fun. But angelus wanted to take there souls cause he doesn't have one. That's more twisted in a deeper sense. Angel/angelus eternally baddest of them all.

angel's prophecy was dark we never really got it until the end of season 5..buffy's fate was clear all along.. it's just different opinoins between us cause I liked connor more than Dawn.. Season 7 was one of the best ever,i loved how they brought back the first evil from season3 and made him the big bad and of course it got better when SMG played it.. the last2 episodes was unforgetable, I loved faith after she broke out of prison in angel
I didn't like dawn because I thought she was a grumpy teenager LOL the turok han was so scary,,loved the first episode it apeared in it when buffy couldn't kill it,then she got her strength back and gave the best speech ever about how they're more powerful than evil,,and when she killed it infront of everybody and said "here ended the lesson" I can never forget that moment

@TOMMYFARRWALES I completely agree with you. There has to be a 6th season as a television show. I think you´re right when saying that only much people have to show interest. This could work. However, I don´t understand why no one bothered. I "know" so many people that want a filmed sixth season, mainly from video comments. There has to be an oppertunity to call people together to do anything..... But I wouldn´t know how....
S4 was the best year of the show, and 5 was a close second. That's what's so sad about the cancellation, when it happened in 04 it was as good as it'd ever been, even w/o fred and cordy. Seeing what would've happened from the comics, a S6 would've been awesome.
the connor/cordy (jasmine in cordy' s body) was disturbing but cordy' s possession got everyone in the show and the viewers fooled, that was good i was surprised when jasmine killed lillah and the tension in s4 episode after episode rises up, i wanted to watch episode after episode until the end of S4. When she killed Lillah, it was clear for me that cordelia would never kill someone like that, there was something going on, and the point of not knowing it wasn't cordy was to fool everyone in the show even us the viewers and it really worked. It was a good setup when i rewatch for the 2nd time the s4 of angel ( in spin the bottle, the face of cordelia when her memories returns this is when jasmine awakens, the beast who was near cordelia and then left , the murder of that guy in gwen's home ext..... I find it subtle

Well when she did kill Caleb, who was there to give her that last push? It was Angel. Angelus is a whole different thing. I think he can beat the crap out of a turok han....remember he has trained in fighting for over 2 centuries. Angelus is considered a master vamp. I liked the whole season 4 Angel/Angelus and Faith coming back into it, but the Connor and Cordelia arc just annoyed me. But while I love Angel and Spike (spike more) I have to agree Angel is the better champion because he fights for redemption, always with the insane angelus side. Therefore angel struggles harder than Spike, who even without a soul was capable of affection and love for another, Angelus is only capable of cruelty, and buffy while she's a champion doesn't seek or need redemption

oh my god yes Connor is much better than Dawn, and thank you finally, ugh that scene where they kicked buffy out of her own house pissed me off. I don't blame Faith though, she didn't tell them to kick Buffy out of the house, she wasn't even involved in the conversation until stupid Kennedy dragged her into it by trying to replace Buffy as leader, when all Faith wanted was the potential's to have time out and act like teenagers. Angel wasn't shown to be very strong in the first season of Buffy, then when he becameAngelus they started shown him off. By the time of Angel season 3, Angel was doing 25 foot backflips (eps 1). Buffy didn't beat any God. She used a lame looking hammer and it was Giles that killed her when she changed back to Ben. She even got owned by 3 nerds and would of died if Dark Willow didn't save her. That's lame.

angel's prophecy was dark we never really got it until the end of season 5..buffy's fate was clear all along..
it's just different opinoins between us cause I liked connor more than Dawn..
Season 7 was one of the best ever,i loved how they brought back the first evil from season3 and made him the big bad and of course it got better when SMG played it..
the last2 episodes was unforgetable, I loved faith after she broke out of prison in angel

the turok han was so scary,,loved the first episode it apeared in it when buffy couldn't kill it,then she got her strength back and gave the best speech ever about how they're more powerful than evil,,and when she killed it infront of everybody and said "here ended the lesson" I can never forget that moment

@mrcreatureofthenight I second that opinion; the characters always struck me as being a lot more 'together' than in Buffy (OK, Angel had a bit of a breakdown in Season Two, but that was under VERY extreme circumstances)

I think you´re right when saying that only much people have to show interest. This could work. However, I don´t understand why no one bothered. I "know" so many people that want a filmed sixth season, mainly from video comments. There has to be an oppertunity to call people together to do anything..... But I wouldn´t know how....
S4 was the best year of the show, and 5 was a close second. That's what's so sad about the cancellation, when it happened in 04 it was as good as it'd ever been, even w/o fred and cordy. Seeing what would've happened from the comics, a S6 would've been awesome.
I think season 3 was the best, season 4 was just weird. Cordy and Connor having sex and birthing jasmine. like what?
the connor/cordy (jasmine in cordy' s body) was disturbing but cordy' s possession got everyone in the show and the viewers fooled, that was good i was surprised when jasmine killed lillah and the tension in s4 episode after episode rises up, i wanted to watch episode after episode until the end of S4.
When she killed Lillah, it was clear for me that cordelia would never kill someone like that, there was something going on, and the point of not knowing it wasn't cordy was to fool everyone in the show even us the viewers and it really worked. It was a good setup when i rewatch for the 2nd time the s4 of angel ( in spin the bottle, the face of cordelia when her memories returns this is when jasmine awakens, the beast who was near cordelia and then left , the murder of that guy in gwen's home ext..... I find it subtle

Well when she did kill Caleb, who was there to give her that last push? It was Angel. Angelus is a whole different thing. I think he can beat the crap out of a turok han....remember he has trained in fighting for over 2 centuries. Angelus is considered a master vamp. Not like the master from Buffy....a whole different thing.

I liked the whole season 4 Angel/Angelus and Faith coming back into it, but the Connor and Cordelia arc just annoyed me. But while I love Angel and Spike (spike more) I have to agree Angel is the better champion because he fights for redemption, always with the insane angelus side. Therefore angel struggles harder than Spike, who even without a soul was capable of affection and love for another, Angelus is only capable of cruelty, and buffy while she's a champion doesn't seek or need redemption
A lot of people probably were. But he lost it like a hundred years later or something.

oh my god yes Connor is much better than Dawn, and thank you finally, ugh that scene where they kicked buffy out of her own house pissed me off. I don't blame Faith though, she didn't tell them to kick Buffy out of the house, she wasn't even involved in the conversation until stupid Kennedy dragged her into it by trying to replace Buffy as leader, when all Faith wanted was the potential's to have time out and act like teenagers. It pissed me off when they bitched to Buffy about spike too.

Angel wasn't shown to be very strong in the first season of Buffy, then when he becameAngelus they started shown him off. By the time of Angel season 3, Angel was doing 25 foot backflips (eps 1). Buffy didn't beat any God. She used a lame looking hammer and it was Giles that killed her when she changed back to Ben. She even got owned by 3 nerds and would of died if Dark Willow didn't save her. That's lame.
