Despite 50% of new cars sold in China being EVs and the booming sales of EVs in Asia and Latin America, lithium prices are expected to remain stable over the next ten years. Prices will drop even further as sodium-ion batteries and lithium recycling mature.
The demand for private cars is expected to decrease by 80% once robotaxis becomes a reality, driven by the fact that shared rides will be significantly cheaper and more convenient than owning and maintaining a private car. This prediction stems from the expectation that robotaxis will achieve 5 to 10 times the daily mileage of private cars, making them far more efficient and cost-effective. As a result, the overall cost per ride will drop, reducing the incentive for individuals to own personal vehicles.
