- Hello and welcome to the video. First video talking about how to take down the first boss encounter in SMT5. Super short and easy guide that can help you take him down in problem.
Forgot to mention for ice skills you can use difference essence to give ice skills to your party if you are lacking that.
Let me know down in the comments what else you need help with or want to see from the game. I have more stuff coming that I have on the way.

Appears that hydra (on hard mode) also uses fire breath. Same strategy applies but you can double down with a fire dampener. Use items and prep as needed. SMT5 requires you to plan and strategize as needed. Hopefully this limits what's required for ya.
Fire breath also in normal mode but its not happening after blocking the dark attack.
This was great thanks. I keep playing this game like it's pokemon and expecting to just steamroll everything but keep getting my ass kicked😂
Yeah the SMT5 games are no joke. There’s gonna be plenty more hard stuff coming up but the challenge actually is part of why this game is so much fun.
Use sleep and guard. No dampener needed.
Thanks, I finally beat him! My problem was Hydra doing Frenzy+3, not his breath move.
Thanks fam
For my team I used apsaras, mermaid, and azumi. And I put rakunda on the nahobino for those juicy defense debuffs. And for cool points I finished it off with an omagatoki critical aramasa. And with that strategy I only ended up having to use one of my dark dampeners
Hydra looks like a serpentine Xenomorph
Mermaid should of been introduced later her unique move was so good it was boring when I was forced to replace it since no other ice demon has as good of an animation.
True. A lot of demons with unique skills felt really special when playing through the game. So seeking them out was always fun.
@TheoBean don't think it being special is the problem it's just how soon it's brought out. Beelzbub and Cleopatra always going to be better than mermaid but they don't have as good of a looking move. Tho I suppose I'm stretching it calling beelzbub an ice demon since his unique is dark and he scales better with ailments physicals lol and cleopatra not only is she dlc but she's technically more of a charm mage.
what attack sword is that how obtain
What difficulty were ya on, out of curiosity sake?
I played through the majority of the game on hard. Later into the game I switched to normal for the sake of not wanting to take too long to finish it and put content out for it.
Thanks , you are playing on which mode ?
I believe this was hard
How are you hitting crits all the time with Aramasa?
If every single hit is a crit then it’s because I used magatsuhi crit at the beginning of that turn. Would also be why each of my team members crits as well during that round.
Killed him in 3 round. I doged / he missed all his attack I was super lucky
It's always nice when you get a lucky miss. Especially during some of these boss fights. It's a great feeling.
how did you have a level 16 demon when you were level 13? new to the game and didn’t think that was possible
It’s been quite some time but I believe when fusing demons the new one can be over leveled. If memory serves correct.
It is part of a side quest line & at the end of it she gets recruited at that level :)
Side quest
Dude I suck at this game lmao
This game is all about having what you need to tackle different situations. It doesn’t take much for things to go wrong quickly. Save often and use items like spyglasses and gems/shards to beat enemies when you don’t have the skills to target weaknesses
@@TheoBeantjb so I take it spyglass can be used to view an enemies weakness?
As well as their moves. Great for mitamas as well as bosses you’re struggling with so you’re not wasting turns
