I’m getting into baking and this seems like a cake my family would love. What’s cake flour? Is it all purpose or specialty flour? Is there a substitute? I don’t know and would appreciate it.
This is such a great question. Cake flour is a low protein flour that's milled into a fine consistency. You can use regular (all purpose) instead. The cake will turn out just as good. There might be a slight, slight difference in texture, but it will not harm the cake. This is really yummy cake. Please let me know if you make it. Thanks for checking in.
