Reflecting on all you said, I kinda wondered if such relationships may have dented some families esp where parents never learnt to have positive friendships. Then now how it trickled down to their kids not forgetting our education system where most times we are in school and not enough time to practice intimacy with family. Thanks for bringing this, if people consider your thoughts and put them into practice we may have stable families and happy offsprings.

Hi Nyawira,I have so many questions,mainly because I have struggled over an year to understand friendships.I am huge on friendships and honestly I desire intimacy in friendships.I don't know if you have noticed but our generation is struggling with matters, friendship.
There's so much confusion for me about friendship,it bothers me a whole lot because I VALUE friendships.I literally beat myself up if I notice I am being a bad friend...
Below is a famous phrase.. please let me know what you think..
1.) "If a friend doesn't show up at your wedding,your season of grieving, birthday,baby shower etc,they are still your friends"
2.)"You don't belong to anyone,enjoy people as they come and go"..

I feel you Nyawira, sometimes when you're vulnerable to some 'intimate friends' they do not take it so well especially when you share your highs, I feel like some of them only want to see your low moments which is sad, thank you for this quite helpful.

I feel like frientimacy is taken soo casually in friendships because the room for intimacy in friendships is never created. There is also lack of communication because most at times people are just talking about surface level conversations instead of getting to know one another. I feel like everyone should treat the other person how they would want to be treated.💕

This was really spot on. I have thought alot about this. The length of time you know eachother does not an intimate friendship make. Sometimes one realizes that something is lacking and must venture out to find their real tribe.

I just want to ask, is it normal to feel weird/not okay sharing something with a friend A but you feel okay to share the same thing with friend B?
Its totally ok, generally because there are specific friends who get you and you feel at ease around them compared to others. Friendship connections all have different levels.
