I have seen Steve in concert a few times and have never been able to hear him do this song live. I am for the death penalty when someone intentionally takes someone's life and he even mentions this in the song. But for some unknown reason this is still one of my favorite Steve Earle songs. I think you have done a great version. Thanks.

Good good man.My uncle die on death row and we are positive he was innocent.There was a car full of people and he was 14.They questioned him without his parents present.He died last year and they wouldn't even let us put a name on his grave.This song changed my mind about the death penalty.Like I said good job sir.
I also meant to add that I'm sorry about what happened to your uncle. No one should have to spend their life in prison from the age of 14. Seems he never really had a chance at life. I too am against the death penalty. I look forward to the day that we can join the civilized world and abolish it. Thanks again.
