Started watching these because I'm a long time Starcraft 2 fan (all campaigns and co-op) but I've never learned the ladder. Your videos make complete sense because I have the unit knowledge, but not the timings or orders. Your videos are awesome because they not only have helped me have such a clear understanding of the ladder, but you also make me want to play the ladder even though I've never attempted. From a teacher to another teacher, you're extremely good at what you do.
Pig, i think its pretty amazing to see you and other streamers that can manage to get to grandmaster with all 3 races. It takes alot of skills and time to do that.
Cheers estabanisswimming, thanks so much for the love! I've finished the B2GM series for each race and now starting my Beginner to Advanced guides. Hope you enjoy them too
Hello Pig! Awesome stuff!!! I used to play Broodwar a lot back in the days (old timer here!). Never really had the time to dive into Sc2 after WoL (made it to diamond back then) but now that my kids are getting older I have time for it once again. Your guides are awesome! Almost made it to gold league in less than a week after being inactive in the game for a good 10 years, thanks to you!
Hey PIG, I just want to shout out how good your videos are. Im still focusing on the basic build with the immortal archon chargelots army, didnt even step into the sentry/colossi army and I already reached 3k mmr (diamond i guess?). The early reactions are still the hardest thing for me, and my winrate agaisnt any kind of proxy/rush is pretty much zero as my mental apm just gets melted during these mega agressions. Altough Im kinda lost about when should I be progressing on your steps because Im still using a "silver" build but already playing agaisnt "diamond" enemies, Im having so much fun and I can feel myself being able to improve thanks to you.
It's interesting how much I started winning even horribly botching the build order, missing timings, and just in general being a noob. Dedicating to an attack timing really is all the difference.
it takes another level to skill to explain the way you do it while playing and maintaining a health economy , gj im getting back into the game thanks to your teachings ;)
love the series pig ! i just started after years i was a zerg diamond 2 and siwtched to protoss now. ur realy doing a great job to explain all details but keeping it simple at the same time. like u said u can be prepared for everything but just following ur build order i got out of silver 2 to gold one in just 1 day. i appreciate what ur doing keep on the good work. finnaly u got my abo u rly deserve it and as i see those build u shown have such much space for improvement they just a rly good startin position
Thank you for this man. While overall I find this race to be the easiest to play, there is one thing about it that I always found the hardest and that's surviving early game pushes. This is already helping me make my early game less derpy. I also never bothered learning Colossus Sentry pushes until I watched this. Now I'm writting this after winning a whole bunch of games in a row with that push, so yeah, good stuff. You are the best of all smurfs!
Game 2 of this video was probably one of the most interesting shifts I've seen so far as a silver noob. Shows how valuable early scouting can be if your opp tries to hop up the build ladder too fast. Thanks for doing these PiG! These videos are great.
I'm a year late but this build still hits like a mach truck. I was 0-7 on the ladder before using this now I'm destroying people only lost so far was against a protoss using the same build.
Passing by to say that your method is amazing, I feel even better today because I won 4 and lost 1 (sometimes I forget the enemy's second base or some other point and then I caught a carrier on the side ;-;).
thanks for this sieres! it gave me the confidence to finally dive into 1v1 games and within a week i had a 6 game win streak and am now winning most games against gold 1 players, i have a lot of experience in other rts but untill i saw your coaching guides sc2 always intimidated me with its speed and complexity so i just played vs AI and watched others play, now i am finally a legit sc2 player in my own right and looking forward to climbing the ladder, all thanks to you, see you in GM xD
@50:58 - so true for me.. :D I love the small details and micro, any my mouse accuracy is pretty damn good, but strategically I lose so many (already won) games, especially under pressure. Even if my macro is better. I guess I just don't have that war-gene :p
Any chance you'll be posting the next video in this series? I can't wait ! I'm stuck on platinum 3 with this current strategy hehe. This sentry / colossus build is reeeaaally funn !
Best SC2 teacher ever. Teaching how to build muscle and perform good habits. Before that I though SC2 was forbidden for normal mortals.. cute, but normals..
So following the build, have my scout out and know I’m getting proxie 2rax by the Terran player but I still can’t deal with it, how do I adapt and deal with that early army?
I’m still winning most games and even when the first attack doesn’t work I’m expanding getting upgraded and adapting to the army, it’s just those early armies I don’t know how to deal with
i will say its a fun exercise to try to max out by 10 minutes with 72 workers, no cannons, and at least +1. winterstarcrafts 3 base build is good for learning thru at least silver 1 but ive definitely seen more success with pigs build so far.
U have some specific day9 videos u can link right here? Not to like turn heads away from pig. But for the people to get stronger. I like day9 also. Ive wathced alot of his stuff.
4:03 in 2023 people are doing adept harass in plat3 in my experience. Gotta jump on them with my 2 stalkers. They manage to kill 5 probes before I kill those adepts with my stalkers. Same with oracle harasses: starts at around gold1-plat3.
Hey PiG! Love the videos. It's absolutely changed my game! Quick question though on the Gold build...what is the best way to break into a Terran base that has walled off with siege tanks at the front. I seem to lose WAYYY to many units trying to break in. The siege tanks murder me. Tips?
Been watching your content recently and trying to get better at SC2. I was gold like years ago. If Pig or anyone could help, what was the reasons you would want to do a walloff at your main compared to the natural? I know for walling off is to prevent zerglings flooding into the base but what is the difference between the former and latter? Thank you in advance!
It's easier to fall back to the highground in desperate situations, but then securing the expansion later is harder. At high level we always take the lowground immediately vs zerg, and highground vs Protoss + wherever vs Terran (sometimes walling the reaper ledge). The Highground walloff is safer in PvP since there's so many scary 1-base builds that can kill you. It also makes it easy to full wall temporarily to block adepts getting into your base
Some education needs to be theory based. Others needs to meet the student in the middle to bridge the gap. This is that type of content. Games can be very confusing. But seeing situations handled in a calm reasonable manner makes it easier to learn from. Having the knowledge applied in front of you on a level you understand is quality beginner level education. We are not pros. We are teens working our way through puberty, with our friendly guide Pig.
Hey pig love ur content! I picked StarCraft back up bc of u! I do have a quick question. How many hot keys do you recommend to have available for Protoss army? I say available bc I know when u are in the lower league u will need less and as you advance u could need more. I don’t want to practice with 3 when I should be preparing for 4. Thanks!
There's top tier players that rarely use more than 2 army hotkeys, occasionally 3. It's a very personal thing. As long as you have room to learn more keys later you'll be totally fine. Ideally you'll have 5-6 keys all within easy reach. But you just need to become very good at using 3 hotkeys to start and you're way ahead of 98% of the playerbase
PiG playing: all my opponents will allow me to do my build perfectly with no resistance Me playing: all my opponents try some sort of rush or cheese or probe harassment
He's had multiple rushes, quick DTs, cannon rushes, battle cruiser rushes, etc. He just does a good job of scouting and reacting. That's a hard skill to learn though for sure.
Can some plz tell me. If b2gm isnt a good way to learn. What is? Because idk if u guys know this. But sc2 is a SMIDGE complex. Im pretty hardcore when it comes to grinding, labbing. Using minute micro, replaying specific situations in the unit tester... And theres still tons of shit idk.. I would like if b2gm was more hardcore... Like, i personally would like for vibe, or pig to go ham on fools, so i could see the better/best options/ Strategies/ micro+macro tactics. But thats just me. Now that i can actually play the game a little bit.
I think that's where watching pro games is better to see the best of the best as far as builds and micro go. PiG definitely goes harder on his opponents than Vibe though.
I think that Plat is a bird so that it is visually distinct from silver at a glance. Similar metals and what not. As for why it's a bird in particular? Idk birds of prey are cool?
I've been in Gold league for a while because half the people I play are diamond league or higher, Gold is filled with smerfs. So I have to compete against diamond league players to get to platinum. ViBe says "Don't use diamond level micro in gold or platinum all you need is macro" But I don't think he realizes how many diamond players are in Gold league.
Is he even playing SC2? In my experience your opponents are supposed to do the following: vT: Proxy Rax all in or BC rush vP: Proxy Gateway all in or Proxy Void Ray, sometimes DTs vZ: 12pool, Roach all in or Nydus Nobody just sits there and wait until you kill them at Gold league level
@@daneQuixote Kill them before they get their battlecruisers. At 6th minute they got no cruisers you can have about 80-100 supply and with that army just kill them.
Hey PiG, I like your videos and you really try to be a good teacher, making everything look so easy. I know it is not. But the problem is, your builds are mostly useless in (European) reality. They are good for winning 15-20% of the matches. In the other matches one dies to cheese or quick 1-base pushes or any kind of clever air attacks. What is needed is strategies to defend such play style. "Continue your build" and "that does not happen in Gold" doesn't do it. Sorry.

I have waited so long for the B2GM for Protoss players! I am glad that it is now here.
That's hilarious... I'm trying out T builds, 2nd game was me (Oogabooga) :) That was about as greedy as I could have gotten

Can we add the sentry colossus stalker build order to the google doc? Thanks!
