I'm a Canadian living in Australia, I've been here for 7 years. But I came as a student, I also struggled a bit after I finished my studies. But eventually things work out. Be open and get any job you can, it will allow you to pay your bills. Then you can eventually apply for a PR.
Elrey! You are the other person I was shouting out in my video looll. But now realizing your picture isn't a skull. Thank you so much for all your support!!!
Sign up to an agency and they can find work in corporate on your behalf. There are so many 6 month contract positions going around and they can even sometimes be extended.
If you live in Australia, it is easy to get a job. If you can’t ’get a job’, you can make an ABN (Australian business number) and become a disability worker or undertake a trade or sell something for profit. You have an abundance of opportunity in this country. Use it or go home
Hi, I live in Melbourne and spent a year on a work visa in Canada in my younger years. I am surprised that you are struggling to find work. My suggestion is to approach temp agencies (such as Hudsons or Hays) and register with them. Once you are on their books, they can put you forward for contract roles. NOW is the best time to do it as the end of financial year is coming (30 June) and government agencies go on a spending spree to deplete their annual budgets before the year ends. Best of luck.
Yeah just came here to say the same thing. Register with a temp agency like Adecco and they’ll place in Temporary admin jobs. It can open the door for you. Another option is to do a Cert III in Disability or Aged Care, work casually then work in the administrative side of these organisations
Check out jobs that might be advertised in our ski resorts - yes we have ski resorts here in Australia 🌏🦘 some not too far from Melbourne, a few in New South Wales too as our ski season is about to start
Hang in there. Do your time making some money doing whatever until your permanent residency comes through. When you apply for corporate jobs eventually, saying “I worked in retail while waiting for my permanent residency” won’t be a problem.
Australian work ethos, Aussies work to live, many other countries have an ethos of live to work. This is why North Americans (continent not country) work 12+ hours a day, 6 days a week. Australia believes in balance, 8 hours for work, 8 hours for rest and 8 hours for recreation /relaxation.
@@derektruong1112 haha fair call mate lol, Sydney does have a few but thankfully, they're the exception not the rule. I guess everywhere has those exceptions but that's all they are. Have a good day Derek 🙂
Thanks for the shout out.😊 You have great potential. Maybe you should take a job in a coffee shop. Maybe God wants you to learn how to serve. What better way to learn how to serve than taking a job where you serve.
Australia doesn't need more people let alone someone who feels lazy....and robots will soon start taking jobs so we need the jobs for Australians and the houses too...👍🏼
U mentioned diversity in Canada in a weird way. Just out of curiosity cause I never been there - do u think Canada now is slightly too divers ? In a sense that there is too liberal policy re immigration at the moment ? Is that potentially a reason why it is so difficult now to get a job / afford living in major cities ? Writing from London 🎉
I've been going through the exact same process in the UK for the past 3.5 years. As an American, I can assure you that it could be so much worse. You are lucky you don't have the visa obstacles to fight against, because it's even more soul-sucking. Having the right to work is a godsend. Too bad I can't trade my citizenship with yours so you could go to NYC! It bes like that.
If you don't mind hotel reception job. Many hotels accept student visa or work holidays visa. As long as visa condition allows to work. I work at hotel in sydney. I think you will get level 3 payment for casual about 30aud on weekdays and loading on weekend.
Start voluntering in things that you like doing and you can mingle people with simulat interest .Also i dont know what is your education but apply for voluntering in good company for 2 months but on the condition to write you reference in the end ...thats starting point.Good luck
I think you're exaggerating the scale of the livability crisis in Canada. I work one job and don't take government assistance and I live a decent existence in Toronto. A lot of people do. That's not to say Canada/Toronto doesn't have affordability issues, but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be IMO.
The farm work sounds tough. The pay there sounds amazing, wow.
It is spectacular!!

You can't run from you. You have to learn to love you.

Yep, definitely open to that as well! I might just start applying for things out in Sydney as well.
