I agree with you. It's kinda annoying how Formidable eclipsed the Italian girls. Even Pixiv is annoying with the amount of fanarts about her (well, they are good so I don't care). But yeah, we have already too many overpowered british ships in the game when, in reality, they had a bunch of design problems.
I think some of there power is due to history. I mean Kaga and Akagi are fairy outdated in terms of CV during the war and the living conditions inside those ships are the same as those in the POW camps but their still an SSR because of their history.

Ships like Enterprise are stupidly OP just because her ability and this is because MIDWAY. ships like the Essex class have to be the best carriers (well, actually they are) in the game because of their capabilities. Another example is with Battleships in the game: Jean Bart was a battleship commissioned at the end of the 40's, she had one of the best radars, firing system, AA, etc. But in the game is a mediocre ship.

To be good, Jean Bart needs to equip the Quad 380mm guns, those guns are mediocre to bad. You need to play her in manually to actually use all her potential of her abilities. Not many players use her in fleet comps... I'm not even going to talk about ships like Nagato, Amagi, DoY KGV and Bismarck (those ships were old and/or based in old design).

I dont have either but wholeheartedly agree, the smaller factions definitely need ships that are outright very strong (like the French ships, especially Jean Bart/Richeleiu) or ships with good synergy (like the Chinese trio) to compete with the larger factions with their many ships with insane skill synergy (looking at you Brits) or excellent stats (looking at you America). Otherwise there no reason to justify players grinding/whaling for the event limited ships other than as just collection fodder.

The anime's producer had stated that the whole series will not follow the game's lore completely. And of course both Littorio & Trento had no voice when they got added into the game. Heck even Trento finally got her voice few days ago, 6 months after she got added into the game.
AL anime just had the first Season 1 done. Season 2 will have Iris v Vichya story arc prioritized somewhere. Wait for Admiral Cavagnari's harem of gondolas during or after S2.

A lot of their guns had dispersion problems from a variety of issues, they lacked a good dual purpose gun, and a torpedo protection system that worked on ships designed for it didn't work so well on older ships that got refitted with it. Also rather subpar AA capabilities, granted most navies suffered from that. I would say they also had short range but that wasn't an issue since they only operated in the Med.

As a fighting force, the royal Italian navy would have been quite potent against any other navy (In the mediterranian) of the time. Yet they never had any major engagements since they rarely sortied. The 'battle' of cape Matapan was one of very few actual engagements, and the loss of the Pola, Zara and Fiume could possibly have been avoided, if the Italians had radar.

The strongest guns in the RN the 16/45 was slightly less powerful then the US 16/45 and had about 300 yards more dispersion. KGV stood no chance in a 1v1 against her peers despite her armor as they all could slice her up without as much fear due to the pathetic 14/45 that the USN WW1 gun outperformed.
