how are you not transmitting the pan pan on a wide area VS your local room? With amateur radios there is a device called a dummy load and if you are close enough (a couple of inches) some times you can make out a transmission. Are you using a similar device to not cast wide?
If you use a dummy load you are putting the full power into the dummy load. If there is a bad connection you will radiate a lot more than a couple of inches. The radios we use for training have had the power amplifiers disconnected so there is no chance of any stray radiation.
can you do all ship calls on your m93d... I just bought one and cant find urgency... I found distress and other dsc (individual or group) which just asks me to fill in msi for the grp or individual... but also no all ships \ all stations menu
@@andrewbanks5843 yup... in UK they are disabled... you need a dealer with a programmer to turn it back on. The place where i bought my radio from did mine. The logic I got from the dealer was... they were switched off in case I didnt want to broadcast my position

Did you ever figure this out, Byron? I have just purchased one and have the same issue.

Very complex manual, and too many button inputs to achieve the basic requirements. Do not touch.
