- Vocalist Phil Bozeman comments: "If any song could have an acoustic version, it would be 'Hickory Creek'. This was enjoyable on so many levels for us to make, and we hope you share that same joy during these hard times."

Beautiful
Hey Nik funny to spot you in the comments
Acoustic cover?
dude, you're everywere :)
What's up, Nik. When are you going to cover this song? I look forward to that day.
@Thalison Monteiro Queiroz
Things you'd never imagine Whitechapel doing 5 years ago.
This is beautiful.
I've been listening to them for 13 years, I didn't expect this.
Pretty disappointing.
DrumsAndMetal no its not.
@@DrumsAndMetal Music is music. To say the least it's really cool that the label is allowing them to put out the music they want to.
@@The_Other_Ghost I appreciate the talent but this is not what I listen to Whitechapel for.
This album got me through my daughter's passing...you guys are more of a blessing than you realize. Thanks for this beautiful piece of art
im so sorry for your loss brother
Very sorry for your loss...
sorry for your loss brother
I'm sorry man...
Really sorry to hear this man. Hang in there !
That eye blinked and I totally wasn't ready...
Michael Earl Grey the eye always watches.
Yo, same
😂 same
I got even more scared when he didn’t buy my toaster
Whitechapel dropped an acoustic song and none of us were ready
Whitechapel is a perfect example of how a band should evolve with time. Phil isn’t only one of the best vocalists in extreme metal , but in modern metal in general!
That's right. They didn't force the clean vocals down our throats. They took their time and I am impressed.
@@Amirpalma88 They managed to add clean vocals without selling out and this is how they do it right!
The new album is crushing and heavy, and has everything we love about Whitechapel, yet has a lot of experimentation and featured clean vocals without being forced!
M. Swaiti666 and not just modern metal, metal in general!
Wisconsin Metalhead Absolutely!
I would consider Sam Carter a part of that discussion as well. Went from screaming basically on everything he was apart of, and now there are 3 tracks in total with just clean vocals. Change (in the house of flies) cover, doomsday (piano reprise), and their latest release, A wasted Hymn (acoustic)
Also. The Contortionist so far have made amazing reimaginings of their work. It's almost like they live by the code of progression. A true Prog band for sure. Jesus this just looks like I'm rambling. Well enjoy anyway lol.
When he said
“It’s so hard to let go
You can hear me but I’m invisible
But if you dig out your eyes, maybe pain will subside
The worst that could happen is you never see me again
But the worst is yet to come, my friend
This path I walk is comforting
But now I’m left to sing this song alone
I’m fading faster now
I left so long ago
You never noticed I was gone
Now that you don’t have eyes, maybe now you’ll realize
Within your own head, you’re creating these lies
For what it’s worth, you’re still beautiful
But beauty lies within the eyes
This path I walk is comforting
But now I’m left to sing this song alone
I’m fading faster now
It’s time to walk away with nothing left
Nothing left in my soul
I’ve faded into myself
This path I walk is comforting
But now I’m left to sing this song alone
I’m fading faster now
It’s time to walk away with nothing left
Nothing left in my soul
I’m fading faster now
I’ve faded into myself “
I felt that.
You my friend, highly deserve my like. 🤣
I cry every time
Lol
TheJustJoshing nice to see you here again!
I don't know about you but I felt the lyrics emotionally, spiritually and Whitechapelly.
I already looked up to Phil enough as a vocalist before he started doing cleans, but hearing him at this point in his career is just awe inspiring.
I agree with the first part, but I'm very strongly against the second part. Sorry my dude but I just think they went mainstream.
@@snitztheholy5177 They didn't go mainstream. Otherwise they would've just stopped screaming all together. They still release some pretty heavy tracks they are just going more for a style they want. They don't want to stay the same forever.
@@snitztheholy5177 They've always been mainstream, wym
@@snitztheholy5177 Bro that elitist idea that cleans make you mainstream is so childish lol. Almost every band you could list is popular and played on Sirius or Spotify. There is nothing mainstream about accepting an awe-inspiring talent that people really didn't know about. If Phil released a whole acoustic album I'd buy it because he has a magnificent voice.
The dude can do it ALL. He's just divine
i could listen to phil's cleans all day long
I can't just listen to this once.
Aloooooone
I Feel Sorry For Phil Bozeman,,, and What he has been through and had to face the devastation phases of his life.. It's life threatening..
But Here he is, standing tall and strong..
The Inspiration To Me and Many More Vocalist and musicians..
Much Love and With Deepest Respect 🤘🤜🤛❤
What dosen't kill you makes you stronger my dude
@MB What you said.
Bring Me Home needs acoustic rendition
smoke26100 * This comment needs more support
Yes please
And Diggs Road too!
There needs to be a whole album of acoustic whitechapel.
Nick Klochack ehhhh. Idk ab that. Maybe if they wrote a knew album. I can’t see them covering old songs on acoustic. But I like the idea
@@johnathanwilson1363 Or they could just release an acoustic EP that contained this and Bring Me Home
LevyTheAmishMan They could do more than just those two. Diggs Road, Doom Woods, Possibilities of An Impossible Existence, Tremors, or Dwell In The Shadows would definitely get my interest if I heard there were acoustic versions.
Fr tho
Nick Klochack I can see how screaming all the time gets boring for a vocalist. I hope Randy Blythe tries a similar route over time.
hope we'll have a acoustic version of Bring Me Home one day !
That would be much appreciated
This
This needs to happen
And Diggs Road!
@@szymonz.8448 yes !
I can't handle how emotional this song is man it is absolutely unreal
Damn, those vocals are incredible. I thought the original version was chill inducing.
And yet some people still think metal is just noise with no talent..this right here Is true art never of would thought that whitechapel would do an acoustic song and actually succeed 🤘🤘
Never mind decided to keep it to myself.
Those kind of people listen to Cardi B and shit like her.
they're true artists
Metal can induce stronger emotional feelings than any other genre due to its genuineness.
Hell yeah brother. Their missing out on so much, actually feel bad for people that think its noise.
the original is already heartbreaking as fuck and one of the most beautiful songs...but - goddamn, guys - this acoustic version is ripping me apart.! incredible.
everybody gangsta until the valley eye starts blinking
really though, this song is even more phenomenal acoustic
Phil Bozeman ,most talented vocalist into the deathcore.
Powerful voice
Amazing Clean
From SEND THE SLUUUTTT BAAAACCCKKK TO HEELLLL to this emotional masterpiece. Whitechapel has done it all ❤
Whitechapel has grown and matured in a way no other band has.
I don't know of any other band called Whitechapel
Gojira is an exception.
My dogs favorite band was Whitechapel. She would smile and bury her head into my and just relax when any song would come on. This song in particular has a special place in my heart. I had to put her down last year and this was the last song she listened to. She had been unable to stand on her own for 3 days, but she stood up to see me in the vets room, and then laid right next to me so she could hear her band. I had her slip away in my arms. This song will always pull on my heartstrings. Thank you for this.
How therapeutic this song must be for Phil. Bravo.
You know I wasn't pretty much into deathcore before I heard this band, Phil's vocals are one the best I've ever heard and I'm really thankful he's able to show us a little more of what he's capable to do, Amazing and beautiful track
Take care of yourselves 🙏
Sweet I now I ave two versions of this song to cry with
I just wanted to say thank you. I’ve been going through a bad divorce because of the destruction of my own ways and actions. Not only am I losing a wife but three beautiful children. I am a recovering addict with about one year clean before that I had almost 4 years till that one slip up. I have really been struggling with either putting my car into a tree at 140 or doing that final shot of heroin that allows me to take all the pain away and just never have to deal with it again. I literally had the needle in my hand trying to find a vein when this song came on I broke down and threw the needle out the window. I want the pain to stop so bad but I don’t want to hurt the rest of my family. Thank you for giving me that one extra little push to go on.
I believe in you brother!
I believe in you brother. Stay brave, strong and loyal. You deserve to be happy. Music really saves lives
Phil Bozeman and Travis Ryan are probably the 2 most versatile vocalists in all of metal.
You can't change my mind
And Atilla Cshiar
This song helped me during my fight witt cancer 🙂 somehow it helped me to pick myself up and not give up 🙂 if you ever read this whitechapel thank you 🙂
I loved it. Now it’s time for the acoustic version of when a demon defiles a witch. I think it can be done, and sound amazing
Mantis Toboggan YES
Jesus way to make me cry Phil
It's time to walk away with nothing left in my soul :'(
How many times I've done that.
This is great I want to hear when a demon defiles a witch acoustic version.
that would actually be amazing
Yassssssss!
Yes
I'm grieving two people that passed away.. One a while back and the most recent a year ago. This song and band, have has helped me so much. I've been listening to Whitechapel since 2008, the person who showed me this band is the same person who passed a year ago 😢😢💔💔 R.I.P MY ANGELS🖤🖤
As if the original wasn't amazing enough you've given this track so much more power in this version
how could anyone dislike this? this is pure gold! i love this side of whitechapel
I been thinking about getting a tattoo of Whitechapel because I've loved them for years and I honestly believe they revolutionized deathcore by showing you CAN implement clean vocals and have it sound amazing, I think this acoustic version just confirmed what I'm doing as soon as this quarantine is over
You should listen to Viscera - Obsidian. Great implementation of cleans but not on the same level as Whitechapel has.
Just carve it into your own skin bruh.
Phil is one amazing vocalist. He puts real emotion in his singing, pure talent
This is absolutely fantastic. Got me crying in the pit.
This album helped me with a lot, like the struggle with my parents relationship, a lot of anger, sadness and confusion. This album is absolute perfection❤
Philly bo is an absolute complete vocalist.. every band should take note how to evolve.. hope to see you guys live in may🤘🤘🤘🤘
That's one of the things I like about deathcore and death metal, it can be melodical than a lot of other genres out there
Is this Phil Bozeman singing? My god! Love it
yeah! he’s done a few clean songs recently and they’re all heaven.
It seems like there's no end to the list of frontmen who have solo side projects I couldn't care less about, but Phil is one frontman I'd actually want to hear in a solo career context. Such a nuanced and textured clean voice that would work so well in a dozen genres!
I was thinking the same. His voice is wonderful and it would be a shame of it went to waste.
I have always looked up to phil as one of the best modern vocalist.. But his clean.. My god!! This shot hit me hard!
Can't even say how painful and beautiful it is
Today I saw my dad and did Christmas with him. He moved a few years ago to be close to his doctors. He was diagnosed with non Hodgkins lymphoma a few years ago. Hes in stage 4. So now is all a waiting game. I feel so broken today.
I hope he’s doing good
Everything will be ok
@@bustingbigloads3237 he's still doing okay, thank you though. Really appreciate it.
I lost my Mom last year and this song hits so hard for me. I miss her dearly. Been a Whitechapel fan for 9 years and Hickory Creek is by far my favorite.
i cant even begin to imagine how much it hurts phil to sing this, its such a hard subject to talk about in any way. the regular version hit me pretty damn hard but this version would break any normal human. such a strong man, continuing the memory of his parents in an immortal form.
Thanks Whitechapel, this song makes me feel that I really need a lot of hugs right now. This song really hugged my heart. I love this song.
This song is there for my darkest times. The times I want to self harm cause I am so along. This song always bring tears to my eyes
This song was already perfect, don’t get me wrong, but somehow it got even more beautiful and meaningful. I get chills every time I listen, which has been quite often
Damn I have been a fan of these guys since 2006/2007 and I never thought they would take this path but I love it and it shows how they have grown as musicians. Love these guys. Didn't want them to change but this is just simply amazing
This. Song is amazing . ive been a huge Whitechapel fan from the start. Never told phill would never go clean. And now an acoustic version . keep it up guys. Truly an amazing band . you keep this shit up!!
Can't believe how emotional this song is... and how versatile the band in general is! From the crushing brutality of my fave song ('Alone in the Morgue') to this... brilliant.
This is the greatest path they could’ve taken. Bravo gentlemen.
This is amazing. I was sitting there listening to Hickory Creek, thinking "man, this would be just as amazing as an acoustic song." Checked youtube for maybe a cover like that and nope, better. Whitechapel released it themselves 2 days earlier. What a coincidence.
haha, that was me today as well
Amazing. After listening to White Chapel for the better part of a decade, and witnessing the growth and technical maturity, it makes me so happy to see them doing things like this. I can't wait to see where they go from here.
@Tj Jonak I have a feeling The Valley was only the beginning of a new era for them. It got such a strong response that they may continue to push themselves in this more emotional or even proggy direction. Whitechapel is gonna truly become one of the best metal bands now, especially if Alex Rudinger becomes their permanent drummer.
Love the album and the OG song but damn this is amazing guys!!
Is anyone else a little mad that Phil had a voice this amazing this WHOLE TIME and we're only just now getting to hear it
After hearing this, an acoustic version of the whole album would be great! Keep up the great work and stay strong Phil!
Wow. I didn't think the song could be any better.
Currently listening as I comment on Whitechapel's latest facebook post about this song. 🤙
This is EPIC!!! Honestly Whitechapel blew me away with The Valley. The band has clearly evolved in the absolute best way possible. Phil’s vocals are downright incredible on the whole record and the musicianship is on another level. This acoustic version of Hickory Creek is the icing on the cake.
This song just gives me goosebumps every second it keeps playing... Thanks to Whitechapel, especially to Phil for this track
Just when you thought that only Phil Labonte (All That Remains) can do both growling and clean singing, here's Phil Bozeman showcasing something that most of us can only dream of.
They always had this within them, but unlike all the other bands that attempted harmony and death chapel will always keep to their roots...they are here to become iconic...
So sick guys. Favorite song off the album. So much emotion in this song and I know how much each one of the tracks meant to yall
Phil's vocal is just amazing and powerful
The worst that could happen is you'll never see me again
been listening to this song alot for the past 2 months and only just now thought to search for an acoustic version, didn't realize this was only uploaded today, this is perfect!!
So many katatonia vibes from this. It makes me so happy
Phil is so talented and this acoustic version is amazing.
Absolutely phenomenal. Been a whitechapel fan since “this is exile”. Back then I had my dad and grandma, both of whom I was very close with growing up. Then I lost both of them in the span of a few years during my earlier 20’s. It’s weird because I still get depression from missing them and it’s been 5-6 years. This song is healing.
I don't know how many time's I've listened to this, but it hits me hard every time.
This song is a perfect example of how a song can be heavier just with emotion and honesty than any song with distortion or any sort of percussion.
Man, what a versatile band. Kudos.
This is very powerful.
God, I love Whitechapel so much.
Whitechapel + acoustic is something I thought would never happen...Let alone blow me away. Damn.
When you go back to the early tours playing nasty deathcore, and look take a look like 14 or 15 years later, hear something that resonates really well with your inner pain and peace at the same time... Mad respect for staying true to yourselves, and writing some beautiful melodies at the same time on The Valley.
I am so glad that I found this now. It's opened my newfound love for Whitechapel after not listening to their music for years. I just heard the first one yesterday, and this version is like the proverbial icing on the cake.
To me this is the greatest song song ever written...
I went the whole day not knowing this was out! This will be on repeat all night.
As a massive Deftones\Pusicfer fan, I need more of this from my boys at Whitechapel.

Listened to this multiple times, cannot tell you a figure, get's better every time, get's me in the feels.
I love the lyrics, it’s sad and deep at the same time.
This was already one of my favorite metal songs, and hearing this way is just special. Whitechapel rules.
deluxe edition of the valley?
I will too
I’d buy it in a heartbeat
@@The_JustJoshing Same especially if sea of trees is on that album.
I let the devil in Sea of Trees is a great song. I don’t know why it was left off, because it’s better than half the album. It is on the vinyl though
This song helps through all pain on a level nothing else comes close to
Never thought we would hear a song like this by the guys, and it’s fucking beautiful!
Teared up the first time I heard this song
This song is beautiful in so many ways, acoustic version just gave it even more meaning
That was fcxing amazing!! I love white chapel. They have decades left in them. I can’t wait to see what 10 more years of time produces musically.
This song reminds me how alone I really am in this world I love it
Cleans or screams, whitechapel is still a great band for me.. Kudos to phil.
This chilled me to the bone
White chapel is one of my favorite bands of all time and will continue to be so, and this just further reinforces that
OK this is outstanding. First note gave me chills.
I showed this to my Mom and she enjoyed it so there's someone who also loves this acoustic version of Hickory Creek.
Also I just discovered it this morning and heard it cause I'm like mmm let's give it a shot and then my mind now is blown away.
How does Phil Bozeman himself go from the deathcore stuff to small pieces of metalcore and then do an acoustic version of Hickory Creek from The Valley album to literally sound like country music?
Well it is well known in Tennessee.
Trust me. I've been there before.
4 years ago to be precise.
Oh well. Either way this is still a brilliant masterpiece even the original version as well.
I never thought I’d see the day where I actually enjoyed listening to whitechapel. Well done guys.
My gosh! This is beautiful. There will be crying in the pit. I love this. This is just amazing 🖤🤘🏻
It's incredible to see the vocal range that Phil has. From deathcore growls to this beautiful noise. Fuckin love Whitechapel.
