Unlimited regeneration vs infinite health. Neither dies, and the fight lasts forever, until an alternate solution is found, or someone goes insane from pain and exhaustion.

This was the theme that stuck with me all day today....I said goodbye to my dog, and best friend of 15 years today, and this song is the one theme that stuck in my head. Both tragic and heroic. It perfectly captures the feelings of love (Bercouli as the 'uncle' figure for Alice/myself and my dog) as well as the underlying tragedy of parting that comes with life. This piece will always hold that special place in my heart for this.

In terms of characters that don’t just get a super god mode out of nowhere he was truly the only hero that worked his ass off to where he was able to perfect that sword to the point where only he and only he would be able to defeat the dark lord, no one not even Asuna would’ve been able to defeat him. He’s truly a hero for saving those that he believed in.

In the anime, its actually broken. In LN, we see the Time Piercing Sword break, but in the anime, they skipped over that part. If we closely look at Bercouli while he was sitting down after Alice woke up (in the anime after the battle with Vecta), the Sword isn't sheathed nor is it anywhere scattered on the ground. The sword in the LN broke right after Vecta was defeated, but the anime likely skipped that since it might ruin the moment of sadness the viewers need to take in: Bercouli is dead.

His theme is divided into two parts. 0:00 - 0:13 | The intro sequence - It starts off strong, voluminous, overpowering.. very much like Gabriel described the taste of Bercouli‘s soul while they battled, proving Bercouli’s undeniable and natural strength. 0:13 - 01:33 | This part, in my mind, resembles his life as Integrity Knight Bercouli Synthesis One - A kind of dull life, his only purpose is that of an unbreakable warrior, a puppet, summoned by the pontifex from the heaven realm. He is being controlled, suppressed.. There is more to life, more to this experience of existing in this world.. But what? 1:33 - 3:02 | He knows it, now, finally, he knows what he needs to do. He needs to protect Alice, no, save her from this demonic god, who has kidnapped the young Integrity Knight. But Alice is not just an Integrity Knight, nor is she just the „Priestess Of Light“ - No, she is his daughter. And he will do anything to protect her, even if that means giving his life so her‘s can continue. It‘s funny, because in this small analysis, the german translation provides a way deeper meaning to the battle, and why exactly Bercouli was able to defeat Vecta. He defeated him not because he was stronger physically, or more skilled. He was able to kill Vecta, because he fought out of love, not hatred. He fought because the will of his heart was to protect his daughter. And that was stronger than Vecta‘s soulless void.

0:00 - 0:13 | The intro sequence - It starts off strong, voluminous, overpowering.. very much like Gabriel described the taste of Bercouli‘s soul while they battled, proving Bercouli’s undeniable and natural strength.
0:13 - 01:33 | This part, in my mind, resembles his life as Integrity Knight Bercouli Synthesis One - A kind of dull life, his only purpose is that of an unbreakable warrior, a puppet, summoned by the pontifex from the heaven realm. He is being controlled, suppressed.. There is more to life, more to this experience of existing in this world.. But what?

It‘s funny, because in this small analysis, the german translation provides a way deeper meaning to the battle, and why exactly Bercouli was able to defeat Vecta. He defeated him not because he was stronger physically, or more skilled. He was able to kill Vecta, because he fought out of love, not hatred. He fought because the will of his heart was to protect his daughter. And that was stronger than Vecta‘s soulless void.
