I love the tonal whiplash in the Yakuza games You can go from a melodramatic scene about crime politics, to a man who can't cross a bridge because his jacket causes too much aggro
Ironically his biggest complaint is one of the things I love most about Yakuza. I love how overblown and indulgent it is. With the 20 minute cutscenes and 5 hour detours. Or its crazy mood swings. Going from genuinely quite gorgeous well directed scenes to absolute madness. I agree Zero is too easy though.
Yeah agree, all the dumb-fun side activities wouldn't be as fun, if there weren't drawn-out dramatic cutscenes. It's the contrast between serious and silly that makes them entertaining.
I didn't suffer per se during my first playthrough but I had my fair share of deaths and retries against several bosses. I played a second time to introduce my girlfriend to the series and each boss fight was hilariously anti-climatic because all my experience remained and I absolutely destroyed every single boss. I think I even p.k.o fucking Shimano lol.
It must be so confusing to _not_ be familiar with the game and watch him bounce between the main plot and the ridiculous substories. But that's why we love Yakuza 0

It's worth mentioning that the full playthrough was 66 hours long so there's a ton of good moments that didn't get included. I genuinely recommend you to watch through the entire playthrough if you thought this video was great, there's a ton of stuff you'll otherwise miss out on.

Hear me out : You're creating a mix of Yakuza (one of the weirdest game to explain why you love it) and adam (one of the weirdest guy to explain why you love his videos(I'm french it's a weird fetch to explain why you learned about furries communitie because of him)) plaiyng this weird game, and you manage to explain what is Yakuza for the non-player of it because dispite what it seems you spoiled very little, and still showed what we love for those of us who played it also during quarantine and had the same experience of joy, also you show why we love to have Scoot and Adum playing a game and I realy belive it's an hard task since I had 85 hours of gameplay in Yakuza 0 so conveing all that in1h20 is pretty amazing

This is fun and I'm happy they enjoyed it. And while I doubt they'll do it, I would like to see them keep going and see the other games because they're great.
Yakuza 0 is the first game of the series I ever played after playing for about 30 minutes at a friend's place and getting absorbed by the story. It's such a wild ride, but do be prepared for a LOT of grind in between the story segments. I also wasn't a particular fan of the cabaret club sequences, and distinguishing all the different phone dates was hard because I couldn't differentiate the womens' voices clearly enough. I think there were 6 in total you could meet, but it took me AGES to get them. Fun fact - I used a trainer to speed up the game in certain segments to save a bit of time. Also did this in a particularly long cutscene which I was repeating, where Nishikiyama and Kiryu are driving along a street. The game crashed because they fell through the street because the car reached the end of the in-game highway segment.

Every single Yakuza game is for the most super easy, only if it is a gameplay mistake as 3 was is hard, and was hard not for good and challenging reasons, just blocking, but that's not why you play Yakuza, you play it because is too damn satisfying to break everyone's heads in 900 cool ways, the over the top melodrama, the humor, and the tourist feeling wail exploring the different places, playing the mini-games, etc. I think there is a good reason besides the Xbox pass for these games to explode in popularity during the pandemic. I also think you can have some bad writing, especially when it comes to female characters, most of the time trans(thought they have like 2 substories to say "seeee we did the thing, we were always progressive") or sometimes...bullets, because are protagonists can be yakuza but the story has to have the most stupid twists to make them never guilty of actual crimes. Anyyyyywayyyy, I'm very addicted to the yakuza series and love to play the games and watch people playing them xD.
It sucks how perfect your car has to be built for the slot car races to the point where you might as well just look up the specific build you need. Unless you really feel like spending 100 hours trying to figure it out.

Majima definitely feels easier than Kiryu. Though since neither of them have access to the tiger drop, that ease is put in proportion.

I was surprised it said complete with only 80 minutes. I spent 5 hours on that weird minigame where you lead that club with the girls.
