- Hello People,
in this video I start my new series "FOLKY FLUTES" in wich I give an introduction to the folk flutes that I play.
The first type of flute is the Overtone Flute. I always get a lot of questions about them.
Here i show you how you can approach the instrument on a very intuitive way. Of course there is also some sheet music for it. You can find it on this amazing page:

This last piece of music sounds very like some music I heard in Australia from didgeridoo.
Wonderful ! 😘
I am convinced, that the overtone flute should be held the way, that the bending of the instrument points towards your body. And the hole which produces sound should be opposite your chin. In other words, you should turn the instrument by 180 degrees.
A lovely introduction video for these instruments, Miss Fabi! I look forward to seeing more in this series.
Thank you so much! Your instructions are both useful and sweet to listen to! ^^
Lovely video! But you're holding and playing the first flute upside down!🙃
Certainly a little bit of magic
You might be biased, but then you have good reason to be. 👍
Sehr cool! :)
Beautiful slavic flutes
Cool 😉 erinnert mich an "Mati Syra Zemlya" ☺️☺️
I made a few overtone flutes by simply attaching a tinwhistle head to irrigation pipe. It actually worked out really well!
What a cool idea! :)
great
