- A ride on board one of MT's newest buses, a 2007 D40LFR (#0727) which was delivered a few weeks ago and was just put into service 4 days ago as of this post. This is the first of the 3 parts, it's on the 3 from the City Center Terminal to Kariya Drive and Burnhamthorpe.
Powertrain:
Cummins ISL ULSD with the Voith D864.3, 4 speed transmission.
Axles:
MAN
She sounds lovely with that Cummins ISL and Voith combo
The 06XXs have the same axles and powertrain yet they still sound different. The axles sound the same, the engine sounds lower pitched though.
wow, that bus even sounds clean... so do our DE41LFRs... DD S50s sound light, and Cummins engines make the bus seem like a heavyweight wrestler... cool stuff..
All I know is that it doesn't sound like the ISLs we already have!
Now, the 07XXs run on ULSD while the previous models run on normal diesel.
Can you elaborate? :)
I'm not working in Mississauga anymore, so I haven't the chance to experience these new 07s, haha.
They petty much sound the same, except the older ISLs are a little higher pitched.
It's not just you.
Is it just me, or does the ISL sound different from the '06 D40LFRs?
