    The RE is a motorcycle that looks like a motorcycle, I like that. I hate the newer offerings from other companies that look like an insect in the rear and has a beak up front.
    Currently I own a HD Tri Glide due to health issues, but in all honesty, the RE 650 is all the motorcycle anyone needs. It has plenty of power (I'm not going racing, I just want to go for a ride) It doesn't have a lot of vibrations like some bikes do, it delivers fantastic fuel mileage, and it doesn't have a lot of gizmos that I don't want. The RE is a simple straight forward motorcycle that is like riding a REAL motorcycle with a few updates like EFI and ABS.
    In my opinion it is exactly what the world needs to remind them what motorcycling is all about. To go for a ride and enjoy every mile or kilometer of the way.
    Stay safe and enjoy the journey.

    These new REs must be seriously worrying Triumph as their Bonnevilles are half as much again. No doubt they are better bikes, but surely not 50% better . I think they're a breath of fresh air and hope they prove to be reliable. If they are I can only see RE going from strength to strength

      @@justdad53 As ever it's down to personal preference isn't it though with the 650 REs being the 3rd highest selling large capacity bike behind the 1250GSA and 1250GS then they're clearly doing something right.

      I love the triumph line up of motorcycles (with the exception of the headlight on the street triple), they have great aftermarket parts however they are seriously expensive on top of what is already a high priced bike. The RE interceptor is 95% as good at 55% the price, I love my interceptor, great bike, a few parts need upgrading to make it look and feel more quality but they are not "necessary" just what I feel like should be billet aluminium or brass or whatever, probably what I'd do with the triumph anyway tbh.
      I've also heard bad things about triumph Bonneville t120 build quality, gearbox issues, clocks steaming up etc and the dealers are denying common issues until they are out of warranty. In comparison RE has had a few reports of caliper pistons corroding, the next week I get a letter saying they will inspect them, clean and lubricate until the calipers are in stock due to covid and change all calipers for free under the 3 year warranty, not just the pistons. If this is not brilliant customer service I don't know what is! So far this is the best experience I've ever had and on the bike I love more than any other I've had. Fyi I've had 11 motorcycle's.

    I bought this exact model and paint finish bike three weeks ago...amazing ride and completely agree with your review. The gear shifter does take a few rides to acclimate to its tight position with the foot peg, but the quality of the ride is ‘sublime’. I turned 50 this year and got back into riding after a 27 year hiatus. I wanted something classic but updated with today’s technology, and plan to put on as many miles per season as possible in Chicago, IL. Thanks for the great video.

    A common misconception, the dervice interval is 6,000 miles, same as my BMW1200RT. The confusion arises as RE specify a bike check every 3,000 miles. This check is chain, brake wear, things like that. I would think that most people who buy one are capable of doing their own servicing anyway. There is not much that is complex on this bike. It even has tappets rather than shims, which are a pain!

    An excellent bike for long cross country tours, both in rough roads & highways alike.. Have pulled 20,000 km on it, still silky smooth & still brings a smile on face everytime i ride it, cant explain the feeling, something the industrial modern day plastic bikes cant do.. There is just that feel & character in the bike is the best way i can explain it.. Very very reliable bike. Goes with the company logo "Built like a Gun" it indeed it, just keeps on going no matter what.

    It's the first time I've tuned in and I must say that I really enjoyed your review as I'm looking to buy this model of bike and in the same colour also.
    I've been watching other reviews and they all same good things about it.
    I'm 6,1 and wondered how tall you are ? so I can get an idea how the bike would fit me as I don't want my hip popping out 😂 and I also found out there is a large range of mods to make the bike more personal to you!
    one is the seat off the GT model that may offer a little more comfort (Not for sliding about on!) lol and handlebar risers to compensate for the taller seat or rider.
    Any how I've just subscribed and hope you bought the bike as I would be disappointed if you didn't lol.
    Only joking but I may do a small video of mine when lockdown is over and maybe you can look at mine as you have showed us yours lol 😎🤣
    Oh yea and there is an innertube in the tires that disappointed me a little as I thought the wheels were tubeless 😒 but the good news is 😃 R/E are fitting alloy wheels that run tubeless tires soon so keep an eye out.
    A back box would be a good idea as my girlfriend likes the one we have on the back of our Triumph tiger explorer as it gives the passenger something to rest against on longer outings.
    All the best 😁 and keep it Rubber side down 👍

I'm 61 and have had numerous CB twins, XS 650, Guzzi T3 and got back into motorcycling 3 years ago and I'm really pleased to find something similar to what I used to ride in the late 70's early 80's. Lots of people mention hitting their Shins on foot pegs. I can only assume we are talking about those odd riders who find it necessary to put both feet down at stop. I've never even come across this issue on mine.

    • @rich.dodd1
      @rich.dodd1 4 года назад +1

      Odd riders, not sure how you come to that conclusion though, how does it matter if you put both or one leg down? it's still in the same place?? Its not a big deal, I do notice it when I reverse the bike though, or do you reverse it on one leg sort of hopping it?
      I love my RE, best bike I've bought and most enjoyable to ride, especially given the price, couple of silly little things don't put me off.

    • @jimmyjam8795
      @jimmyjam8795 4 года назад +2

      Putting both feet down is a Newbie trait, usually goes hand in hand with those riders that also can't balance the bike when almost stationary. Usually ride off with one or both feet trailing as if they're worried they might fall off. Also, no! on foot placement, if you use one foot it is usually placed wider and further forward. Hence me not noticing the pegs at all. If they were a problem at all, surely I would notice it between my two entirely different bikes.

    Good: Al rims, looks gorgeous, fuel injection, lovely 6 speed gearbox, very affordable and good ABS brakes.
    Not so good: Surprisingly heavy (208kg according to RE) even though it seems to be mostly Al and plastic (I don't mind plastic when if saves weight). Just like the British bikes I rode in the sixties it leaves little oil stains on the concrete floor of my garage.

    Looks a great bike, would it stand up to a long journey with a pillion on board?

    Didn't Norton go bust? I like my "gadgets" so i dont think i would go for an unfaired/dials/chained bike. I love my GS1250 but am curious about the new Tiger 900 GT. Would love to hear your review on it.

    I really want one of these, I have a himalayan and really like it as I enjoy camping weekends away, it's good for travel.... Now my question is can you travel on these?? Luggage and camping gear?? Himalayan 500/600 would be my bike of choice but just doesn't exist!

      Hi Carlo, I´m 6.2 and have one, I ride perfectly well. And this guy from my country who made a local review (Argentina) is 6.35 and he also said for his height the ride was very comfortable as well. If you can, try it. If not, I believe we´re not going to be picked for the promotional pics, but we will enjoy the bike anyway!
