- A wonderful day in my Black Forest, where I make a Norse/Viking inspired meal...using my new frying plate. I also made some great flatbread and this is the recipe for making 2-3 pieces:
100g Rye or wheat flour
1/4 tea spoon salt
1,0 tea spoon backing powder
1,0 table spoon honey
Water approx 1/5 dl

have you ever noticed that while watching these videos you feel your heart rate decrease, breathing slow down, muscles seem more relaxed except for the jaw muscles cramping from ear to ear from smiling throughout the video? I'm a new subscriber, old woman who was never an outdoor type but as I have gotten older...I am now 76..I find these types of videos bring me peace. I love the quiet peacefulness, sounds of the birds, wind in the trees and the occasional commentary! I can imagine I am there sitting beside the fire and it soothes my soul. Thank you!

Imagine, years ago, a lone person in the woods doing this and a a few travellers happen to walk by.
They all sit together, share a meal as well as some tales and stories of their travels for hours, maybe even camp together for the night.
Only to part ways in the morning and never see each other ever again.
That is real, that is peace.

I think that is a wonderful addition to your cooking gear, Tom. It looks like you bent it ever so slightly so that oil would stay on the plate, but the plate will still pack pretty flat.

Gotta say, love your set up. Also jealous cause you crafted most of it. It's one thing to camp and another to do bushcraft with gear you made. You must really get that feeling of becoming one with nature and gear. To know if you had to go in the wilds and thrive has more security in mind then any rich accommodations in my opinion. Hell alot of time I just dream of running off to the wilderness and leave society completely. Sort of how Floki let the God's drift him to that island, in Vikings. Return to old ways and renounce modern ways. But unfortunately there are no more places you can be free, but it's nice to take breaks from time to time. Keep up the good work. Keep the spirit alive.

There is something about your videos that is calming, and gives a very nice feeling.

When this confinement is over with I make it my main objective to reopen old trails more less forgotten in our mountains to make them accessible for groups with their teachers, beautiful forests that need a lot of care cause accumulation of dead wood... It's good forest management the way you do it. No law against that and laws to come that will encourage this kind of activities. I'm glad I could show my son traditional places where we collect medicinal herbs as peppermint and Labrador tea on a lake with beavers and trout...When I'm gone he will have that knowledge as his inheritance.✨

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag I early in the morning hoping to find a standing stone ruin but no, a whole block by the river vanished and all there is left is a pile of rumble of what was a historical stone house, a restaurant for breakfast a shoe store and apartments on the second floor, a landmark just vanished. we had about 2 feet of snow , I'm not yo take my snow shows out yet some trails could be opened in the week for snow show and ski, they had a nice skating ring in the park yet with all that snow they will have a lot of shovelings to do. I will use Google map to trace old trails that used to be trapper lines and snowmobile trail for foresters, ✨
