  • One of my fave songs in the set to play. I have a lasting and endearing memory of playing it at sunset at the Telluride Festival surrounded by the Rockie Mountains. A chilling moment, as was playing it at the Royal Albert Hall

    Joe has worked his arse off since a young kid, he is revered and admired by the greats, he is one talented man, and a true gent to boot, raised well by his mum and dad, practice and dedication to his art, with a fantastic inane feel for music. Love the guy

    I'm sure glad I don't know the 26 tasteless people who dislike this. I love it and I haven't heard anything by Joe that I haven't loved. Don't expect I ever will. He's coming to my city soon. I'm not sure I can afford the ticket but hey JOE, I'm 65 years old now and you've been added to my bucket list .

      A true shame indeed for such a phenomenal song and such a phenomenal guitarist, Joe, if you read this, I hope you know that you changed my life for the better, and I would not be the musician I am today if it weren't for your inspirations, so thank you. You helped me find my love of the blues, even if you don't know who I am, but I know who you are. I absolutely love your music, and I wouldn't be the same person today had you decided to not play guitar, so again, thank you.

    This song had the hairs raise on my head today......I had to stop in my tracks and feel the beauty without moving a muscle. It was literally stunning. Then I read the lyrics and blew my mind again; as it fits exactly to the mountain romance I had up here in the mountains with a man I loved so dearly who has since passed away. He is the man who took me to see Joe B. but Joe didn't play it when we saw him. Baby I hope you can hear this song from where you are now. Now YOU are the golden eagle.

    Got this song (right of the live at Beacon Theatre album) on my Ipod for years but never actually listened to it.. Today as I was taking a relaxed hike in the mountains (I normally do trailrunning, but I hadn't been in good shape the last days) this came in the playlist and I suddenly felt connected like I'd never been before... I had to start to run and after the INCREFIBLE solo at around 9:30 I completely lost it. I began to run along the path as fast as I could until I was completely out of breath and I felt like I was physically affected by the beautifulness of that amazing song.. ❤

    A masterpiece. But in this expression of a classic tune instead of playing what is arguably the most beautiful guitar music ever written ( 8.00 mins to about 9.30 mins) Joe gives a master class in dynamics. Brilliant, but not what I wanted to hear. For clarification listen to the version on 'Live From Nowhere in Particular' I defy you not to have tears in your eyes such is the emotion expressed in that version.

    A moment where in my opinion everything fell into place and luckily recorded. I had never heard of Mr. Bonamasa until he was on Guitar Center Sessions and shortly after his Beacon Theater TV special. To see a musician/guitarist/entertainer that is not just a media flavor of the day gives hope to other dedicated musicians.

    My favorite Bonamassa tune and video performance bar none. In fact, I just picked-up a Music Man Steve Morse Y2D (the guitar that the Dark Lord model he is playing in this video is based-on) primarily because of this performance. Tasteful, beautiful playing and tone on this tune...

    • @radarbrew
      @radarbrew 6 лет назад +2

      Comparable, but not better. Look at the differences. Page had the technical slide effects, Clapton had exceptional higher octave chords, Hendrix had rhythm mastery. Bonamassa took a piece of all three and melded it. All around, he's an exceptional performer, though I do like all the masters, including Knopfler and Atkins. Those guys were ahead of their times.

      @@matt_man0005 Just got back from Joe's concert in New Brunswick, NJ. He was incredible. I went with my son, a 19 year old budding guitarist. Told him to me, Joe B is the modern day SRV. Saw SRV a few times live. Can sing and play like no other....Joe B is on that same plane now. His vocals are amazing. His playing impeccable. Page is still my favorite since I grew up in the late 60's early 70's so Zep is my band.
      But Joe B...my goodness he gets better every time I see him live. Mountain Time....will stand the test of time. An amazing song on all levels. A masterpiece. He played this with a Tele with a humbucker, using Fender Twins. Fucking crazy good.
