As someone who worked on an indoor gun range for over a year, I can confirm. Indoors especially gunfire is deafening, and definitely sounds nothing like most people expect. Depending on caliber and barrel length it's almost like a dull thud but loud enough to drown out everything else. Anyone who mistakenly stepped out on the range without hearing protection realized immediately and came rushing back out. Even with hearing protection things like a .500 S&W magnum can be rather unpleasant to be standing near, and you can physically feel the shockwave. Obviously realism isn't always the most satisfying or cool way to depict things for games or movies, so seeing how even things like handling sounds are made is really neat. The sounds in this video are believable and and creatively sourced, not enough credit is given to sound design.
i remember watching another foley video, and a lot of foley guys legit just have a "doodad drawer" for the most random ass things. i remember the minecraft foley guy just recorded himself eating chips over and over again to make the classic eating sound. foley work is super creative and i have massive respect for anyone trying their hand at it, regardless of what discipline it may be
Foley is so cool and i love when people make custom audio instead of using sound libraries this kicks ass and really shows how far a little creativity can go. many of those sounds would fit perfectly for games
Yeah, the video could have been called: "I Used ONLY Office Supplies to Create Gun Sounds. The Result Was OVERWHELMING! (You Won't BELIEVE What Happened!)"
Buy a $10 sfx asset pack ❌ Buy a $100 mic, spend more on utilities to record as instruments, and spend time recording/mixing your own sfx that sound the same as the ones in the sfx asset pack, but make youtube videos about it to hopefully recover your investment from monetization ✅
Nice work. Ever since watching a documentary on the development of Heavenly Sword I've been interested in this stuff. It would be cool to do this for a living.
I've heard that TV remote battery covers work quite well as magazine ejections, anything with screwable parts could be used as sounds for equipping muzzle devices as well.
I remember back when I used to play Combat Arms, the SCAR-L's (GP Standard, Trispear, and Black variants) firing sound was once described as the sound of wood hitting (paraphrasing here, but you get the idea: hit wood on a wood surface).
I remember when i was on a gamejam and had 4 days to deliver a game, but I had no sounds so had to make my own using stuff like tv remote, or banging on a table to get something that barely resembled a gun.
youtube take a little bit of time to understand if you are, or not a content creator, you have a Very underrated content bro, just keep doing your videos, and youtube will start to recommend more people to your channel
A thousand times better than modern games, they feel so artificial, non realistic, they feel like bb guns or airsoft. The only game which made his own sound, with real guns and real effects, is called BLACK, and I never saw a game using such extreme realism, and I mean made by them, not using an existing sound
I really like the sound of reloading and I have that stupid ass tendency to reload everything I see (batteries, taking out and placing in the cover of the batteries in controls and such, AND got myself a toy gun so that I can do exactly the same xD
@liorbeaugendre6935 look at how someone reloads a spas-12 in real life, you need to hold the carrier latch button while holding the shotgun upside down to even load in a shell
Nice. Watching the video, I can see your animations and such are pretty stiff. I can also see that that is very much a "right now" thing. You're going to iterate and grow and I can tell you're going to become a total boss in this art. Subscribed, gonna keep my eye on you. Keep it up!
The animations didn't really match the sounds and they were a bit lifeless but all in all this is a perfect PoC video. I wonder if I can use an empty staple gun to get the empty gun click with the ringing. Thank you so much for making this!
As someone who was in a gun range a few times, gunfire doesn't sound as cool as in videogames, it's actually almost identical to fireworks

380 sounds cooler from far away
That's why most of the modern soldiers wear headphones
Which is interesting, considering how it isn't all that hard to tell gunfire and fireworks apart when they are in the distance.
@@ICANTFINDNAMELOLstandard military issue Sony headphones so you can drown out the gunfire with Avenged Sevenfold
I was kinda expecting him to hit a table with a hammer for gunshots lmao
You're almost right, I was banging the hammer against the workbook, but decided that was overkill
@@Shikinev lmao.
i respect the dedication 🔥🔥🔥

Jesus loves you and is coming back soon
@ cool.
I hope you don’t come back soon though bot….
Folley work is insane, literally fucking around with random doodads and it creates an orchestra
i remember watching another foley video, and a lot of foley guys legit just have a "doodad drawer" for the most random ass things. i remember the minecraft foley guy just recorded himself eating chips over and over again to make the classic eating sound. foley work is super creative and i have massive respect for anyone trying their hand at it, regardless of what discipline it may be

Holy sh*t that’s f*cking amazing man. Most people don’t understand how difficult it is imitate an audio. Pure talent
Remember the Tec9 is open bolt, so the charging handle should stay back after being racked before operating the trigger.
There's a closed bolt variant of the Tec9
Civilian one is a closed bolt, so booth are coorect.
I think they can work in both
Open bolt for full auto and closed bolt for semi auto
open bolt tec 9s were banned i think since the open bolt made it easy to convert to full auto
the fact that is sounds somewhat accurate is actually so impressive, amazing work bro!
quick and to the point video and pretty solid final result for the price
Foley is so cool and i love when people make custom audio instead of using sound libraries
this kicks ass and really shows how far a little creativity can go. many of those sounds would fit perfectly for games
I love how you just do what your video title is about. No useless talking or anything like that. Precious. An those sounds are really cool too!
Yeah, the video could have been called: "I Used ONLY Office Supplies to Create Gun Sounds. The Result Was OVERWHELMING! (You Won't BELIEVE What Happened!)"
Yeah and don't forget about 5 minutes of introduction and 3 minutes of ad integration
been shooting since i was 13. them gun sounds be accurate fr fr
No way you only got 42 subs with content like this. This shit was sick asf dude keep it up!
This might seem crude, but this is straight up how they do it in movies. It's called "foley" (pronounced f oh lee).
Prime example of "limitations breed creativity".
Good stuff dude. I love foley artistry. Try some scifi guns sometime :)

Also, an empty elmers glue stick sounds exactly like a spent shotgun shell when hitting the ground
The power of foley sound design is unmatched
You just gained a sub 👍 this is so creative, and the results are so frickin good!
Нигде не видел более познавательного видео, как делаются реалистичные звуки в стрелялках. Забавно получилось, мне понравилось.
I always did say most CoD guns sounded like random office supplies.
Ngl thoose are good. Old school moovie SFX style, respect.
great work. Foley artists everywhere are clapping
That's why the sounds were familiar as a kid when playing for FPS games
Nice work. Ever since watching a documentary on the development of Heavenly Sword I've been interested in this stuff. It would be cool to do this for a living.
I love to just be in the room with this guy and wait for the phrase, "Hmm, I wonder if...."
as a rookie SFX maker, thanks ALOT for this vid, it shows that you can easily do any suound with random things
now this is what i truly call, quality content.
I remember pretending i was reloading an rpg when placing the tray back in the pencil sharpener

Half life 2 also used real gun sounds. You can especially tell at long distances.
This is beautiful. Chef's Kiss.
Yet,
Here's me getting surprised over the extra _'Foley'_ footage in *'Star Wars Republic Commando'* many years ago 😅
Dayum just awesome ❤ showed it to my dad and he was amazed 😇🙏🏼
so cool man, nice video. Thank you :D
So underrated dude!
Bro casually dropping a banger
I always knew my shotgun was actually a plunger
damn this is actually pretty damn cool
Loading a staple gun works super well for shell loading 1 by 1
boggles my mind that this is better production quality than black ops 6
I really like the sound of reloading and I have that stupid ass tendency to reload everything I see (batteries, taking out and placing in the cover of the batteries in controls and such, AND got myself a toy gun so that I can do exactly the same xD
Thats cool, i never thought that gun sound can be so easily made!
Dude... This is so relaxing
Very innovative and talented!
Creative. It sounds exactly like older games. I wonder if a lot of them did this.
creativity = 100%
realism = 0%
I was your 200th sub, this channel is gonna do numbers.
Pretty good.
For the gunshot, punching a bag of Doritos to pop it open.
That's very convincing.
That spas-12 reload pains me
why
@liorbeaugendre6935
look at how someone reloads a spas-12 in real life, you need to hold the carrier latch button while holding the shotgun upside down to even load in a shell
me when I got bored working as a teacher between classes
like I would legit use the stapler to imitate gun sounds lol
My man created better sound FX than BF2042 😂
awesome work man x)
the shotgun reload really just needs some kind of tube sound and it would be perfect
well this is a eye opener
When the government bans game developers from using real weapon noises for their games
There's a reason they call it a staple gun!
that is indeed impressive and creative 😲🙌👌
That's fucking amazing.
Nice.

Change the pitch down so the guns sounds have more weight, and make the guns sound less thin metal and more chunky steel sounding
I reckon that'd depend on the gun you're doing SFX for. You wouldn't want the starter pistol to make chunky steel noises like it was a HMG
very impressive
I'm 100% sure that people use box cutters as weapon noises in games lol. It sounds way too familiar
Very cool video
The auto load screwdriver is sounds like a reloading gun
hell yeah keep it up buddy
V creative - great job
Actually sounds good ngl
Great work!
So awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ravenfield?
Thats an instant sub like and share.
This is really fucking cool!
idk man when some kid does it its cool, when people put this in a video game there will memes about stapler

nice work :)

that's clever ngl
Красава. Хорошо получилось
Foley will never not be an interesting job field
Now I can't play shooters. Thank you internet
Bro this is hella creative. Do you sell these?
keep it up!
