His wife definitely knew for 35 years. She didnt report his felony sexual assault of a 12yr old and even made the victim apologize to her. A child was abused and the child had to apologize because your husband is nasty. Their is overemphasis of the fact that he reported his failure to the elders. Reporting to elders does not alleviate the responsibility to report a crime.

    • @kimberleywittrock3113

I can't even believe his wife went along with all this cover up and standing by him in ministry for over 30 years...I mean who does that. I read from Cindy that the wife of Robert Morris called Cindy and told her(the minor victim) that she forgave her for committing adultery with her husband!!......I am livid to read that. How could you stay married to a pediphile? How could the pastors wife be OK with him being in the church with other people's children....What part of that is of God?

I think Robert Morris wife, Debbie, is complicit in this. She knew he was molesting a minor back in 1987. She had the audacity to call Cindy and say she forgave her. What a disgusting family. I sincerely hope when they come back to Texas from Greece, they are treated as pariahs.

“Things changed when she turned sixteen…..
Cindy confided in a close friend (G.F.) who knew both families. Her friend said she needed to tell her parents….
Morris reportedly stepped down from ministry for two years. Cindy received a call from Debbie Morris, who told Cindy that she “forgave her.” Debbie is a mother. It is inconceivable to me that a mother would blame a 12-year-old child for her husband’s abuse. Cindy believes that Robert Morris might have told Debbie it was “Cindy’s fault!’ Cindy said things fell apart at this point. Their circle of family friends was no more.”

Pastor Robert is now finally free. He that the Lord sets free, is free indeed. What happened hit everyone. He couldn’t say the age “12” because he knew it was wrong which he has openly admitted himself but the lady has only helped him vocalize what he couldn’t bring himself to say because it is not something he is proud of. He was asked to step down from a previous ministry for 2 years for repentance which he submitted himself to the authority of the elders of the church at the time-WAY BEFORE GATEWAY CHURCH WAS FORMED. Also, the elders of the church at the time of the occurrence KNEW her age AND had disciplined him accordingly in the way they thought was best. Pastor Morris must have suffered shame for his actions at that time with that congregation of the previous church. Now 40 years later, he is being subjected to same fire once again for the same thing. Pastor Robert’s testimony (which he TALKS ABOUT ALL THE TIME) is based on how BAD he was and how God has shown him GRACE PERIOD (that’s one of his most recent books). He knew who he was 40 years ago and knows who he is now. Most importantly, God knows who he is NOW.
“ Say unto the righteous it shall be well with him”.
I pray for the lady as well, that she would indeed find what she is looking for and be wrapped in the arms of the father, soaked in his love and be totally healed in Jesus name. Amen.

According to an eye witness who was working at Shady Grove Church, he was originally sent to Shady Grove Church which became Gateway Church and was a traveling evangelist. He was married at 19 and at 21 was allowed to stay at the victims home when he was in town where he began the molestation on Christmas Day or as he calls it a "moral failure" or "inappropriate". He told her NOT to tell anyone. According to reports once he realized it may come out after four years of molesting her and he had been removed from his current ministry; James Robinson (Life Outreach) got somehow involved. He then took him to Shady Grove for "restoration". According to an eye witness the pastor Olen Griffing (a previous Texas State Trooper), James Robinson and another elder went to the girls home and MET with her parents. They all KNEW. Just so you know Olen Griffing is STILL at Gateway as an Apostolic Elder meaning over everyone as a leader in that church!! I can imagine they convinced the parents this would cause grevious harm to the church if this came out. Vile. After his so called restoration he was made an Elder at the ripe old age of 29. Just 3 Years after the molestation had ceased when the victim was 16. In his books and statements he referred to her as a young lady! He abused his position and power to groom the child and then went on to groom the church. He is part of a group of mega church pastors called ARK that all protect each other. He is said to currently be worth over 100 million. They are Pharisees and people need to read Matthew 24 over and over where Jesus confronts these Sons of Hell. Oh and BTW Roberts wife was kind enough to call the victim and tell her she forgave her!! He blamed the victim calling her flurtatious, a jezabelle and he was the VICTIM. She was 12! Pause on this, after years of therapy she obtained a lawyer to get some reimbursement for her therapy and offered half of what she ask for which was NOTHING and wanted her to sign an NDA she said no thank goodness. Repentence must be followed up by restitution and he should have been turned over to the authorities. And yes I was a an adult and mother at that time and men went to jail for molestation and rape of young girls.

The gifts of God are without repentance. Romans 11:29. No one's sermons are 100% infallible. It's not wrong that God was able to give many of us fruitful nuggets of godly wisdom through his teachings. The important thing is discernment. Test every word of wisdom, number 1 against God's written word, and number 2 by prayerfully taking it all to the Lord. He alone can help us hold to what is good and let loose of what is evil. Every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit, and He has a ministry available to all of us, but He will force it on none of us. Jesus laid His ministry out perfectly when He told His disciples it's better for you if I go! So that the helper will come, and He will lead you into all truth and teach you all things! I pray that Robert Morris can finally humble himself and trust God and take full accountability for his actions, and I pray that the lady can trust the Lord despite the deep wounds she has suffered and that she will be willing to be comforted by God so that He can show her, He is not as man is!

I think why so many of the elders were led to the wrong conclusion about what happened was because he was married. Like this particular elder said, language can be used in a way to fog the truth. What Morris probably said was that he had had an inappropriate relationship with a young lady, and the fact that he was married led the elders to the incorrect conclusion that the immoral sin he was referring to was adultery. However, Cindy did say that she told many elders and pastors what really happened. That is where I start to wonder how honest these elders are being with themselves and with the public. Then God calls him out of hiding to save millions of people. Notice, he did not go to jail, face time and then God used him. God found him and used him anyway. So it's like what do you make of Moses account? The person Moses killed, we can assume, had family and now they grieve his loss. When did they hire a Law firm to investigate? This news just broke several days ago. It's not making sense. Also, when the dad reported it I'm sure he was having a fit and yelled she was 12!

The fact that he/they are still using words like "involved", "inappropriate", "young lady", and "relationship", as if the victim was a willing participant, is infuriating to me. He is still not taking full accountability for his actions (and has not truly repented), and they need to clean house in that church...😡

I can see that they didn't ask the age. Who would have thought he had done this with a 12 yr old? I imagine from now on any church board will ask such questions.

Seeking therapy and him never doing it again is kinda of disingenuous because molesting a 12yr old for 5 years is absolutely repulsive and repetitive behavior. If his daughter told him that one of his mentees repeatedly molested her for 5yrs? Will he forgive them and allow him to be restored back into ministry or force them to be a registered S-offender?
We need to stop excusing certain behavior and allow these spiritual leaders to go through the consequences of sin. Jesus forgives sin but he doesn’t exempt us from the consequences of our sin. That’s why people keep repeating and not repenting because we’re covering individuals that need deep healing in the name of they have the gift of the spirit. God is exposing the church for a reason, we have allowed the Jezebel spirit to roam free in the church. Robert Morrison has always given above reproach&very prideful attitude. The beauty of God is that he always humbles the proud.

Morris should not have been allowed to resign. He should have been fired. If Morris were fired, he would forfeit his hefty pension and not allow any involvement with the church. The son should not be appointed as the successor. If the elders are serious about protecting victims and not a predator, it should be handled that way. However l, the Elders are perserving their best interest and once again not the interest of the flock. However, the elders are more interested in the business and could could care less about the sheep. When the victim exposed Morris, the elders said they were aware of the incident, and Morris had followed the suggestions of the elders and has lived a moral life since. After the story hit CNN and the victim told the national network that she was 12 years old, the elders then took their original statement back and said they didn't know all the details. When the victim published the article in Christian Publication, the elders supported Morris, the criminal. When the story became national news, the elders didn't have the full details, and they lawyered up. The investigation will span from 1982-1987. If Morris has shown himself not to be fully truthful, why isn't the investigation spanning up until present? The Elders are more interested in money than protecting the sheep that the Lord has entrusted them with. The elders are as much at fault as Morris because they should have called the authorities and reported the crime.. Instead, they choose a gift over protecting a child, and the victim's parent are no better. Morris would have never preached the Gospel if he had done what he did to my child, and I would leave it at that. Shame on the Elders then and shame on them now. They still have not opened the bible and handled this like Jesus.

RM told the same story, over and over again, until everybody believed it. Everybody thought he was so holy. Gateway wouldn't exist without him. That answers a lot of questions. I was there 200-2015. #shewas12

I am praying for all the victims. Thank all of you for speaking up. Praying for justice from the Lord for them all. Luke 18. Regarding the Pastor Groomers out there. You better repent and step down. I know it's the Lord exposing them. If anyone has been abused by it all. Just know God had no part of it.

God bless your heart Nick Jones for sharing your support for the Cindy the survivor , as well as for the community who is watching such a horrific story unfold. We need to all unify and pray for the survivor & her family and also for the believers , church attendees who may be so disheartened. As many have said , turn our eyes on the Lord Jesus , as our LIGHT and our HOPE. John 16:33 “In this world , you will have trouble , but take heart, I have OVERCOME the WORLD”.

By bring this up is to pray over him and his family or is to judge him when we ALL don’t have the right to judge! We ALL have sinned and we ALL fall short from Gods glory. How are you being the hands and feet of God by doing this? What is your purpose? Pastor or not we are not perfect. Only because you are appointed don’t mean that you are anointed. May God bless everyone 🙌🏼

This abuse was years ago Nick, things were dealt with in a very different way back then, meaning, alot of things were swept (metaphorically) under the rug, people covered up sexual sin all the time.
Exposing pedophiles was not a priority, look at the Catholic Church for a point of reference.
I was abused by 2 members of the clergy, people knew that they were pedophiles but they were kept in their positions for years and years preying on vulnerable children and young people until they both relocated and retired.
Had it not been for Jesus my Redeemer, I can tell you now, I wouldn't be here and the devastating truth of my story and 1000s and 1000s of others is that sexual abuse in church has always been a prevalent evil.
