My favorite scene when Is when Trazyn goes steals some a cloak to suppress Orikahn’s time bending abilities, and some other junk.. but then after ALL this effort… he essentially just spits in Orikahns face by shooting him, and not even taking back what Orikahn took from Trazyn. Glorious
This book was so good! I was surprised, as I assumed a Necron book would be boring. I've started recommending it as a first 40k book to people unfamiliar with the universe as it didn't seem like it needed a lot of prior knowledge to be enjoyable. I have a hard time telling though, as I've been reading these books for so long that I can't get into the mindset of someone brand new. Brutal Kunnin' by Mike Brooks is another one that I thought did a good job of being funny while still feeling like it fit in 40k, but it was closer in tone to the Ciaphas Cain books than The Infinite and the Divine.
I honestly love real humor in warhammer 40k. After all, just because the setting is grim-dark, doesn't mean the stories have to be to. I too love the book more than any of the other books (mainly i haven't read that much more) and i used it as inspiration for a work on my own, following two demon lords trying to break free from the spells keeping them in check. About warhammer, i am not entirely sure. I did try to write a set of novels once, and it is still unfinished. "Apocalypsis Aquarius". And it was sometimes funny, sometimes epic, but the first book felt really off, because some things just happened. There was no apparent reason, other than it happening for the sake of it. I overall really struggle with the whole grim-dark-thing. What would you say makes a good warhammer 40k story?

It's god-tier mutual trolling.
I wonder if Trazyn and Orikan will get updated models/rules with the popularity of this book.
Two ancient immortal alien robot skeletons have a 10000 year long spy vs spy nerd war over a rubix cube macguffin
That is a rather good synopsis 😆

I run into the same conundrum with regard to recommending it as a first book. I'm actually about to start Brutal Kunnin'. I've heard good things!
BTW I think I've seen your painting on Eons of Battle. Good stuff!
@@MTFTabletop Thanks!
I gave it a read out of curiosity, and now that i finished i find myself constantly reading it again and again, it's such a great Book!
I think I've read it four times, now. So good! The Twice Dead King is also great, though it has a very different tone.
Nice to see you branching out. I was thinking about this book as I've heard a lot of good reviews, I'm probably getting it soon
One of the best, you won't be disappointed 😁😁😁

Necrons is one of my FAVORITE factions in 40k
I remember being intrigued by them back when I started at the end of second edition. I'm SO happy they're getting some lore love, now.
It is.. Its a top 5 for me... The Genestealer prank was dead on funny... 😂
I thought about mentioning that one prank involved a live Genestealer.
@@MTFTabletop It was one of the highlights for me 🥳
